MLM Bot Watch 40 - Forever Living is 40! Yet still 99% of people in all MLM's lose money

Whiterangey · 29/05/2018 12:27

Not making money with Forever Living?

Not making money with any MLM?

How to make money with Forever Living?
How to make money with MLM?

Maybe this report done for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) by Jon M. Taylor, MBA, Ph.D., of the Consumer Awareness Institute may have the reason why.

www.ftc.gov/sites/default/files/documents/public_comments/trade-regulation-rule-disclosure-requirements-and-prohibitions-concerning-business-opportunities-ftc.r511993-00008%C2%A0/00008-57281.pdf

When someone urges you to join an MLM in their downline with tales of the riches you can earn, all they are trying to do is use you to earn themselves more money. They know the stats, they know you won't make money and you will lose money, and friends.

They will lovebomb you, be your best friend, be all over you and then drop you like a stone.

Look at the person who is your uplines facebook. See how the people who were tagged in her statuses a year ago the same way you are tagged now are doing. Are they still with the company? Many won't be. Those who are will still not be doing well, exactly the same as a year ago, or two years ago.

If you are in Forever living, check facebook for the global rally cheques of your upline, notice how they have been going down year on year? The market reached saturation point in 2015, it's downhill since then and things will get worse, not better.

Most MLM's in the UK are at the same point, we are not a huge country and MLM's have reached saturation point.

I wonder what bots think when they are given this. Surely the penny must drop and they see that they were recruited using these scripts, 'hot buttons' and special invitations to (definitely not weekly) business presentations?

Whiterangey · 21/06/2018 12:12

I guess they think that if it worked on them it will work on others. At the point they are handed that i'm guessing they are already brainwashed and believe all of the nonsense.

It's an interesting question Sponge.

I did try to raise it when I'd catch my OH using all the tricks scripts that had been used to suck her in and make her feel 'special'.

"I really like your style, you'd be a perfect fit"

"I'm actually really busy, so I need a decision now."

"You're lucky, it so happens that we are having a Business Presentation next week- I can get you in, but I need you to commit now!"

"There's only a couple of spaces left..."

By then, she was so taken in with the "unlimited earnings potential" and Law of Attraction bollocks that she just got angry and told me I didn't understand anything about business and wanted her to fail because I was jealous 🙄

I think she really believed that the lies etc. were fair enough, as she got to share in this amaaaaayzing opportunity.

Spongebobette · 21/06/2018 12:35

the deceptions are so blatant, they are hiding in plain sight

Twentytwentyhindsight · 21/06/2018 12:38

It was all the more shocking to me as she had always been a terrible liar, but the 'white lies' got progressively darker and rolled ever more easily of the tongue.

I believe a huge part of it was that she was primarily lying to herself, about the reality of her 'success', about how 'positive' everything about her life was.

If you have been conditioned to tell yourself massive lies day in, day out, I suppose the other lies become much easier.

Spongebobette · 21/06/2018 12:40

and that, of course, makes it a cult.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 21/06/2018 12:48

Yup.

ArbunneHun · 21/06/2018 13:23

Hmmmm... the link to the pdf you posted is now password protected @Twenty.

We are being closely watched!

waves to the FLP huns

Twentytwentyhindsight · 21/06/2018 13:40

Got some hard copies at home- pm me, Huns!

Twentytwentyhindsight · 21/06/2018 13:43

Seems FLP UK are more responsive to me than they ever were to my OH when she enquired about refunds!

Twentytwentyhindsight · 21/06/2018 13:46

I suppose HO is not as busy with orders or registering new recruits as they used to be.

They have to do something with their time, if only to score well on the matrix for selection for redundancy that is surely loomingGrin

Twentytwentyhindsight · 21/06/2018 13:55

But then again, FLP have achieved the prestigious 'Investors in People' certification for their salaried staff, so the redundancy package will surely be massive, and well above the legal minimum... won't it?

Spongebobette · 21/06/2018 14:08

Wow have they really put that page behind a password?
Something to hide, Forever Living? Or ‘The Aloe Vera Company’ as I see you are trying to rebrand yourself....
There are lots of us who are now wise to MLMs and FL in particular and are ‘sharing our story’ (as you call it in your leaflet) far and wide.
Perhaps you are feeling the impact a little bit?

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 21/06/2018 14:40

Making the document password protected is like an admission of guilt.

As for the name change of the company I guess it means that if you Google it you don't get as many "is a scam/is a rip off" etc results or if someone mentions it to family or friends they are not immediately discouraged by being told "it's a pyramid scheme/I've heard bad things about them" as you would get with the name Forever Living. It's a way of trying to secure more recruits who think it's something new and legitimate.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 21/06/2018 14:48

Deckchairs on the Titanic, Kenny.

The other simile that comes to mind is cockroaches running for cover when the light's switched on.

Norma27 · 21/06/2018 15:36

I really love how they watch this thread and then try to cover things up.
Hi to all at forever living. I have my champagne chilling for when it all finally collapses (at least in the UK).

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 21/06/2018 15:42

Just clicked on Twenty's link & surprise surprise: 'Sorry the page you are looking for is not available'

Whiterangey · 21/06/2018 15:46

I had to go out for a few hours, left a few tabs open. As it was a PDF it was pretty easy to download it, there was even an icon to do so.

Forever Living did an oops, don't think we were meant to see it, only those who they sign up and then tell to recruit recruit recruit without even a thought to helping them actually sell the product to others. I know it's true, i've seen it in black and white, well white and gray anyway.

It looks like it was put together by the country manager as his signature is on it, and the addresses on the bottom are the official Forever Living UK, and Ireland addresses. There is a little square thing in the bottom right hand corner of the last page which has in tiny letters 'Distributor:'.

So I guess FLP gave those instructions out and the bot who was filling it out or handing it out had to fill in their name in the box.

Hi Forever Living!

It's reassuring to know you're rattled by these threads. When you've finished rearranging the deckchairs, the Botwatch Orchestra will be on dry land playing "Nearer my Bot to thee." Wink

Twentytwentyhindsight · 21/06/2018 16:18

@Whiterangey - the document has been in the public domain for several years now.

I have electronic versions that, until today, we're freely downloadable, as well as hard copies swiped from my botted OH.

I'm sure other FLP survivors on this thread will be all too familiar with it.

It is (was?) the handbook for 'progression' that all FLP 'business owners' will have been given.

Hiding the online version will do them no good whatsoever. The fact that they're now worried about it is because it's all going tits up - a bit like the shredding of incriminating documents in Hitler's bunker as the Red Army closed in...

Norma27 · 21/06/2018 16:48

I’m on a few make up and skincare Facebook groups and it is so interesting to see the response now when bots post anything to do with mlm. They get absolutely shot down within seconds!

Twentytwentyhindsight · 21/06/2018 17:00

Just in case anyone wants another link to the brochure, here it is on another link that is in the public domain (the only difference is the currency used for levels is UAE Dirhams - it is otherwise exactly the same doc signed by FLP UK's Bot-Meister).

There's plenty more links to it, so they're going to be busy shutting them all down!

Twenty you are very naughty and we are all benefiting from your naughtiness. 😉
