36 Lies to reel you in...

  1. They will tell you that you will have time freedom in this business. Two weeks later they will tell you the business won't work unless you do.

When it's a business event they will not accept excuses for you missing it and will set an example by missing their child's first birthday or telling you a story of how they once shit themselves in white trousers on the front row at success day because they were poorly but didn't want to miss it.... You will know quickly that the unspoken rules is 'no excuses on success day's.

The incentive holidays are all bullshit. Why would I want to work towards recruiting and selling loads so I can go on holiday with a bunch of strangers rather than my family?

Or get applauded for standing on stage and talking about how many people I had recruited? I wanted to fill my house full of products and I have. But it's all so mind numbingly boring.

So, where do I go for advice on how best to extricate myself? Do I make a big announcement to my downline? Cancel all my future team meetings? I just can't wait to FUCK IT ALL OFF! It isn't all I do and I want to focus on the other things I do. I am sick of this always having to take priority. I am done done done!

cozietoesie · 27/02/2018 12:44

Here you go, Goldfinches.

GoldfinchesInTheGarden · 27/02/2018 12:48

Yup, that’s the one. Thanks.

Cupofteaandtoilet · 27/02/2018 12:50

BoredAndBoreder, I just lurk & read usually. I'm sure someone will be along to help you. What you've said is very interesting. I imagine you'll be used as an example of someone who 'failed' because they were lazy Wink

BoredAndBoreder · 27/02/2018 12:56

I don't think I will, my upline just says that someone else will come along.
She's nice enough - but I am a very small cog in her downline - she is a very rich lady. But I don't know how she does it. I have just been through my FB friends list and deleted lots of people who aren't really my friends - just other people in the business.

I can't tell you how happy I am to have made this decision.
I must say though - I don't feel like a failure though. I just think me and MLM have run our course. I don't want to progress higher in the business because I will have to continually be at the beck and call of an ever growing downline. It will be soul destroying. No thanks!

ArbunneHun · 27/02/2018 13:37

Hello @Bored - well done for making the break. We’re here to support you and welcome your valuable input/insight.

What are you going to do next?

It looks like Lanzabot is taking a break from FLP to concentrate on her business coaching business? She will only focus some of her working down lines according to her website - is it possible to do this and get paid? Will her income not drop if she is not on it daily?

What skills does she possess to be able to coach business leader and owners?

BoredAndBoreder · 27/02/2018 16:08

@ArbunneHun

Next? Well I am not going to make a huge song and dance about it to be honest. I'll still order the products for me and I will still order products for my customers when they want them.

Joining the MLM meant I met some really great people and I did a training course with one of them, it's taken me two years to complete and I am able to launch a business doing what I have been training in. Nothing to do with selling products!

I also have another business and that's my main bread and butter job, so I will be able to put more effort and time into growing that. It's taken me a long time to realise that the amount of time and effort I have to put in to the MLM biz isn't equal to what I get out.

I guess my heart just isn't in it any more. I don't feel broken or anything - I didn't lose any friends or any money. But I am not prepared to spend the time. Life is too short to be bored rigid doing the same thing over and over and over again.

I think I am going to have much more fun now I don't feel tied down by the MLM any more!

BoredAndBoreder · 27/02/2018 16:10

Yes it's mad how amazing it feels Dora

How did you break it to your downline? Or did you just slowly disappear?

Spongebobette · 27/02/2018 16:12

I have always thought that the life in MLM must be incredibly boring, it’s like being in one of those Scooby Doo cartoons with the background going past and it’s the same all the time (if that makes sense) but all the while having to be super positive
Yawn

acatcalledjohn · 27/02/2018 16:35

Especially for those ex Vida people...

Agreed that few people talk about how boring MLM is. Most of what I hated was annoying friends and family to give me money- felt so wrong, no matter how much mindset training I had.

But yes, it IS boring! Staying at home all day constantly on social media because that's your job. I've worked at home since, freelancing in a different business- so much more fun and challenging than MLM.

I am a bit suspicious of Lanzabot's relationship with the high profile coach from Newcastle. Apparently they suddenly became besties because they found people were 'bullying' them online, within a day or so, and are now inseparable. The coach seems to have a group of women she has partnered with, mostly coaches and Hay House authors, and also Lanzabot. I think it may be some sort of 'you promote me and I'll promote you' arrangement that I've come across before, previously with some male marketing scammers in the USA who cross-promoted each other to imply integrity. Could be wrong of course but they get my spider senses tingling...

Was it this forum these two were 'bullied' on, and what did you guys find if so? From bots talking about online bullying, in my experience it's this forum noticing something they are doing that's morally questionable!

BSintolerant · 27/02/2018 19:50

Welcome to all our delurkers!

Congratulations for realising you're bored rigid, Bored. Who in their right mind wants to waste their short, precious time on earth flogging a dead horse in MLM land? Running your own business or having a job you love is a much better deal. MLMing every waking hour must be so unfulfilling.

Speaking of Lanzabot, a little ape told me that the extent of her coaching was "It's monkey see, monkey do!" I understand that many of her monkey managers are no longer managers and are quietly leaving the mlm jungle.

I can't imagine anyone who runs a real business would benefit from coaching from an mlm bot. They can't even claim that they have transferable skills when they don't have much in the way of skills. Real business coaches and consultants are valued because they offer expertise, guidance, and advice which goes way beyond "Copy me!" They don't take photos of their belongings in a vain attempt to get their clients to throw good money after bad so they can acquire yet more belongings. Attraction marketing? It's utterly repulsive if you ask me.

BSintolerant · 27/02/2018 19:56

Does the coach from Newcastle realise that there's a stigma attached to MLMs or has she been involved in the MLM mire in the past?

fitgirl26 · 27/02/2018 21:55

Have you noticed the current Bot script? Oh isn't it lovely that I can stay home with my babies when there's a snow day because I can work my bizz anywhere unlike nasty mummies with a J.O.B. 🤮

Jonsey32 · 27/02/2018 21:56

I thought I was up to date with everything. Who is lanzobot?!

Eddierussett · 27/02/2018 22:45

I have been amused by the couple of 'Bestselling books' that have been produced in the Bot/life coach crossover area. Where bestselling = top of an obscure category on Amazon. Hardly an NY Tines bestseller... though you might think they were the way bots talk about them.

Whiterangey · 28/02/2018 02:30

I can't figure out Lanzabot either, can someone give a clue please.

She was the first one I thought of but couldn't see anything on her facebook, her business facebook, and her website and that she was still pushing her 'business in a box' a few days ago.

Blimey, she was absolutely huge. I guess living in a different country makes it difficult to control your downline.

I did look when the Dallas emails went out earlier this month to see if she's shared what CC's she has but I haven't seen any mention of Dallas at all, so it's possible she didn't make enough to even qualify for that.

CurlsandCurves · 28/02/2018 09:22

Searching for the a team FLP on Facebook comes up with a South African couple, so I’m clearly not getting it right, pm me, huns?

BellaLDN · 28/02/2018 09:59
