Thread 34 may be no more;
Thread 35 is quite alive.

Let's make sure it stays that way.

This thread is here to expose the garageful of lies pedalled by multi level marketing (network marketing) schemes, i.e outrageous health claims, unlimited wealth and residual earnings, to name but a few.

Toobusytowee I sell Usborne books. The majority of my income this month has come from school orders, largely arranged over email.

cozietoesie · 02/02/2018 00:47

Out of interest, what do you do when schools have no orders?

ICJump · 02/02/2018 01:48

Thanks white and fitgirl. Now think of diplomatic way to email her

Whiterangey · 02/02/2018 02:53

@Orangeteddy your MLM is the same as any other. You may be nicer than some people who are higher up, but you are still earning money off your downline of 120 and the only way you are going to keep earning that money is by encouraging your team to sell. Well buy, as any MLM is hard to sell to an end user and the consultant is usually the MLM's biggest customer.

I set out the stats at the beginning of this thread about how many people your downline would need to recruit to be earning the £1000 per month you earn considering only 20% of your income is from your own sales.

It all sounds lovely for you, but what about your downlines who have a 99.7% chance of not earning a thing and will likely lose money with Usborne? That will be quite damaging to your downlines

It doesn't matter how hard your downline works, the chances of them getting just your low level of success is almost zero despite the wonderful opportunity you have painted Usborne to be.

Here is what I posted at the beginning of this thread:

Say 15 people who posted here decided you were right and it was a good opportunity and signed up under you, what are our chances of making the same amount of money as you?

For us to get to your income we would all need 120 people under us, which would mean that us 15 people would need to recruit 1800 people between us to get the same income as you. For the 1800 people we recruit to get the same income as us they would need to recruit 120 people each. That is 21600 people who would need to be signed up.

The next level under that would need 2592000 people in it.

Bitcoin and all the other top alt-coins are dropping fast.

This is actually good news in my view for Ponzi schemes. Even with the high ROI that a Ponzi promises you will actually lose money if you invest as the coin you had to buy to pay your way into the scheme will be worth a hell of a lot less when you cash out. So hopefully more people will be put off.

With crypto dropping people will hopefully see it as a lost cause and hold off.

All those who have profited majorly from recent crypto Ponzi's are going to be hit hard. They received all of their 'earnings' and commissions in crypto. I doubt they have transferred their crypto into proper money so that authorities can't touch it and the taxman can't get at it.

The lower it goes the more is wiped off what they actually got from scamming all of those under them. If it continues to fall and ends up under 4 figures again, the big players will have lost nearly everything, as will the people who created the Ponzi.

I hope people wake up and see that all they will do if they invest is lose their money.

I've been watching these threads with a fascination similar to when you might watch a cult being investigated on a BBC documentary- and I have huge respect for the people working hard to try to help those who might be sucked in recognise the truth about MLM schemes. I've also been idly wondering about the extent to which this is all part of the post-truth, fake-news 'thing' which we're struggling with at the moment.
Anyway, my detached interest has suddenly shifted as an extended family member has just posted on Facebook that she's launching as an 'Independent Consultant' for Stella & Dot. I want to just gently direct her to some useful info but not engage directly (as she's a distant in law) but I'm concerned that she'll think 'but S&D isn't like those other companies...'. So much is more focused on FL, JP etc. Is there anything which explicitly focuses on Stella and Dot, does anyone know?

fitgirl26 · 02/02/2018 07:54

In the words of Welsh Cryptoscambot

"Beware of MEDIA fud MEDIA always talk negative about Bitcoin for their own TRPs"

Confused
HamishTheTalkingCactus · 02/02/2018 08:00

some info specifically about stella and dot www.talentedladiesclub.com/articles/how-much-money-can-you-really-make-working-for-mlm-stelladot/

You all know I did well in mlm, I had genuine customers buying good products and I did well from just retailing. Many in mlm do have customers! Ultimately if there are customers buying and reps earning thats not really an issue, and I agree many do it part time etc and enjoy it. The problem comes in when you are suddenly pressured to want more. That dream is opened up and before you know it you are working 20 hours a day willingly because you feel like you should want 20k a month! All training is aimed at recruiting because thats the quick income etc. MLM is not black and white its more complex than that. Yes I have seen many confidence issues and seen those people grow into go getting ambitious business women but I have also seen people destroyed! Completely broken and damaged. For every positive story theres 100 negative ones and even with great intentions you cant stop the fact that people will join you do nothing and end up in debt. There is a certain income level where you cant have morals anymore, if its a choice between your 10k a month and being honest with your team you will choose that 10k even if its an uncomfortable choice. MLM has become the way to make riches now its no longer sold as a bit of extra cash! And lets all remember you are never in control of your income. People leave jobs when their income is £1-£2k a month it may rise to £5k a month but 3 months down the line it could be gone! No one talks about that! No one tells people about the mentally draining paranoia and depression that kicks in, the huge responsibility you feel and the stress of being surrounded by a world of egotistical, fake charlatan leaders manipulating teams into thinking it will happen for them. Its dark! Most of those top leaders need mindset gurus because they are living a daily lie and its not a happy place to be. So whether your selling a few books to schools or mascara to your mates my advice is keep it at that and use MLM experience to go and do your own thing as soon as you can. The longer you're in it the more damaged you are! Fact!

Whiterangey · 02/02/2018 09:43

@fitgirl26 My bad, I forgot about MEDIA Fud and them talking about Bitcoin for their own TRP's and that crypto trading should be done with INTELLIGENCE

Do not believe in rumors, or rumoUrs if you are in the UK.

Personally I don't give a FCK, I can look at a BTC chart and see all the crypto coins dropping faster than my TITS after I had my children.

Only the strong will HODL.

Only the stupid will make financial decisions based on a meme though.

They must be really scared, people won't be sucked in if crypto crashes completely.

SSDGM · 02/02/2018 11:06

I think Wig and Sleaze are starting to sound just a little bit hysterical. The house of cards is falling..

Also: Brand new car for £50 a month?

fitgirl26 · 02/02/2018 11:20

@SSDGM - what are you talking about? They're the New World Order dontcha know. Seriously I would love to see these two crash and burn - it's disgusting the number of people they are dragging into their scams.

TellMeDinosaurFacts · 02/02/2018 12:01

Thanks so much Hamish.

SSDGM · 02/02/2018 12:49

Fitgirl, they’re just disgusting. End of.

They did 12 flights last year, dontchaknow? I don’t make a living scamming people and I’d done that by April. Ten Bob Millionaires, my DH calls people like that.

Dreamgirl91 · 02/02/2018 14:37

I have been told to keep my eyes peeled for a launch to the UK this weekend of another health and wellbeing company headed up by ex Valentus founder.

ArbunneHun · 02/02/2018 14:56

Ah, our lovely Crypto King & Queen: it’s worth taking some screen grabs & reporting to Action Fraud. I have done: takes 5 minutes and the more their names crop up, the more the authorities are likely to investigate.

Whiterangey · 02/02/2018 14:56

@Dreamgirl91 Are you talking about a bot who once owned a Salon?

If so, what about trading standards?

SSDGM · 02/02/2018 15:43

Salon admitted she’s not allowed to be involved in any network marketing until the investigation into her is finished. She may not ever come back.

BSintolerant · 02/02/2018 15:49

I fear she will find a way to wriggle out of the woodwork ... Some of them are a bit like cockroaches: they'd survive a nuclear attack.

OP posts:
Whiterangey · 02/02/2018 16:09

If trading standards find she has broken the law, what kind of penalty could she face?

She must be broke by now, she may have made a lot in Valentus, but that must be gone by now.

Dreamgirl91 · 02/02/2018 16:42

@Whiterangey no it was the one from Grimsby who recruited Salon

Whiterangey · 02/02/2018 17:39

Oh no, I checked her profile and she already has people lined up ready.

Do you know what MLM it is yet?

PancakeInMaBelly · 02/02/2018 17:41

The majority of my income this month has come from school orders, largely arranged over email.

Have you ever tracked the time you spend online etc in relation to usbourne? And divided it by your income after expenses (including any mileage if you ever meet anyone in rl) to work out your hourly wage? and whether or not you're even getting min wage from this second job that's eating into your evenings/down time

And honestly, were you going to reduce your hours anyway?
A lot of people join mlms at times in their lives when they were reducing hours anyway (ill health, young children etc) and the mlm didn't "allow" them to reduce their hours at all...

You do in fact sell one of the very few decent products available via mlm, but usbourne books are ALWAYS on sale in WHS with big discounts, and I buy them there, it's cheaper than becoming a rep for them...

Dreamgirl91 · 02/02/2018 18:15

@Whiterangey it is all hush hush. Guess we will find out soon enough

Whiterangey · 02/02/2018 19:02

I hope it's not Thrive, the one with the vitamin patch.

I guess we will find out, or not, likely just invited to "PM me Hun!"

It isn't the end of the world if they actually advertise who they are working for.
