Thread 34 may be no more;
Thread 35 is quite alive.

Let's make sure it stays that way.

This thread is here to expose the garageful of lies pedalled by multi level marketing (network marketing) schemes, i.e outrageous health claims, unlimited wealth and residual earnings, to name but a few.

Yes! @Norma27

If you mention an income in any marketing material it is supposed to include the disclaimer:

^It is illegal for a promoter or a participant in a trading scheme to persuade anyone to make a payment by promising benefits from getting others to join a scheme.
Do not be misled by claims that high earnings are easily achieved.
Forever is a member of the Direct Selling Association.^

I have just been having a quick browse at one of the top 10 forever living bot fb pages.
She has said she is going to be home schooling her children. They once went to private school.
I wonder if this is for financial reasons or whether the "opportunity" has given her the freedom to choose to do this. After all, they call themselves coaches so why not teachers too.

WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks · 27/01/2018 18:58

I can't help but wonder if some are already feeling the pinch and adjusting their lifestyle accordingly.

I've seen 2 quite high up bots move house in the last 6 months and interestingly neither have done any boast post photos of their new homes. Even their day to day photos don't give any clues as to what their new gaff is like. All very low key.

ReformedBot · 27/01/2018 20:13

Those children won't get much of an education. It's far too distracting when your phone pings to ignore it, what if someone is about to bite the bullet and join but you don't answer and they join online or with someone else?!

Home Edition needs to be a person's main focus in my eyes, it doesn't just 'fit' into life it has to be thought out and done appropriately to ensure all skills are built on.

Forever and family don't go together. Perhaps once children are in school it fits better but if children are home, I just can't see it.

GoldenKelpie · 27/01/2018 20:15

Arbunne that is very encouraging news. It would be an excellent start to force by law all MLM companies who wish to operate in the UK to publish detailed information about their reps actual income and exactly what they earn in a given year. FL refuses to do this but I know some have (can't put my hand to links but maybe someone here can?).

When an MLM does publish figures, which are the most positive that the company can possibly make them, they are still devastatingly awful for the vast majority of participants. A quick analysis shows the stark reality for more than 99%. And the small print at the bottom makes it clear that the income does not include costs of compulsory purchases that reps are required to make nor there expenses in running their 'business'. It is shameful!

Spongebobette · 27/01/2018 20:22

Arbonne publish theirs but only of active business owners I think, and only of earnings not profit
It still looks pretty dire

*their not there Grin

Thanks, mumblog for your reply. I totally get your desire to contribute to household income when a new mum. I had moved to a totally new town just before having my two and, although technically DH made quite enough for the whole family, I was not used to not working and couldn't imagine not. I decided to start a childminding business, something totally alien to me but I learned very quickly about child care with my own children. Did a new business course through local council, already had accountancy knowledge so put together a business plan and projected accounts. Got a grant for the first year. That was more than 20 years ago, mind. Thoroughly enjoyed it, luckily had wonderful children and parents to work with, whom I am still good friends with today.

Interestingly, I also had my first brush with MLM, through a couple we both knew, very good friends actually. They invited us to visit and when we turned up with babies in tow (2nd one very new), sat and watched a promotional video. I was somewhat bemused and not at all convinced however. Thankfully, they accepted my "no thanks" and never mentioned it again. They are still very good friends of ours and after a few months of peculiar behaviour (think loads of positive mindset notes all over their home, copious Amway brand bottles littering kitchen, bathrooms etc) it slowly fizzled out and they got back to normal again. We've never mentioned it since Grin.

Spongebobette · 27/01/2018 20:51

OMG I have just remembered some friends many years ago who got into Amway

They were obsessed and super positive and tried to convince me and my DH to join but we were not even remotely interested

They were both quite posh, he’d been to Eton

Lost touch ages ago when they moved abroad

Just having a scan through on Face Book and came across to 2 FL posts

  1. 2 FBO ‘working their business ‘ from a hotel ( photos of them with laptops/ note pads etc) although Facebook was on one of the laptops (?) is that work? Any way on the post detailing how they were working etc it says how it was her son’s birthday... but that didn’t stop her working!!!
  1. A post from an FBO that had had a processco and pamper evening. She went on to say how amazing it was and that she’d put together packs of tooth gel / deodorant/ lip balms and that had covered the cost but there were no other sales. But she’s networked etc.

It beggars belief how brainwashed this people are.

So the FBO in the first post couldn’t/ wouldn’t spend time with her son on HIS BIRTHDAY! When it’s sold as a work from home / spend time with your family business
And the second post well SHE MADE NO PROFIT from that pamper party... but she was still happy because she made contact to add to her list of people to prospect!

This goes to show it’s not about the product, you can’t make profit and it’s all about recruiting. And they say it’s not a pyramid scheme!!!

Just been recommended this. Interesting viewpoints.

fitgirl26 · 28/01/2018 16:19

So is there anywhere you can report Ponzi schemes? Big Haired Welsh Bot and her lovely BF are currently pushing some new Crypto scam and saying that if you put £5 in you will definitely get a 300% return by the end of the weekend. Not one person has asked how that's possible, they're all to busy asking for info (via PM of course). I'd so love to see this "power couple" crash and burn.

SSDGM · 28/01/2018 16:32

His sarcastic “earnings claim” post last night boiled my piss.
Pair of con merchants. I want to see them arrested.

fitgirl26 · 28/01/2018 17:07

@SSDGM - me too. Apparently you'll only fail in MLM if "your (sic) a lazy arse who thinks the world owes you a living" according an acolyte on that post. It's this "if you fail it's your fault" mindset that is so destructive - Bots can't see that it's the MLM structure that causes you to fail as we've seen from posts on here by people who worked their socks off and got nothing.

SSDGM · 28/01/2018 17:09

I’ve checked on action fraud and they need reporting to the FSA.

ArbunneHun · 28/01/2018 21:51

I’ve reported them to Action Fraud. I pm’d asked for details, screen shotted and sent to AF. The police are already investigating OneCoin & S Coin, USItech & Mass Cryp will be next, I hope.

Having Facebook on is to show how 'work' is networking/chatting online, so easy that we all do it everyday! The truth of working on Facebook is:

  • Scouring upline business pages for post ideas
  • Planning out your business pages and scheduling upcoming posts
  • Keeping up to date with team pages for new challenges/ incentives then tagging your downline in them to reinforce the message to them
  • Giving advice and encouragement on team pages, read lovebombing.
  • Welcoming new recruits and showing how welcoming we are, read lovebombing.

And the biggest of all is working through your inbox of team questions, team tantrums and upline instructions and messaging people/following people up about the opportunity/products.

^2) A post from an FBO that had had a processco and pamper evening. She went on to say how amazing it was and that she’d put together packs of tooth gel / deodorant/ lip balms and that had covered the cost but there were no other sales. But she’s networked etc.^

I'm surprised this was posted publicly! This is the type of thing that would be said in a team page to cushion the blow and justify why your team need to do parties even if they don't make a profit on the night. The carrot is always dangled - "what if that party you didn't do had introduced you to the next insert TopBot name here but instead she went to the supermarket and I recruited her?!

ReformedBot · 28/01/2018 23:34

As for working on a child's birthday
That is a huge no-no for me. I remember Castlebot BFF went to a Success Day on her son's 1st birthday and she did a video justifying how he won't remember his first birthday but the benefits will be with him when he is older. I couldn't believe this was happening at the time and was one of my early alarm bells. She even posted it on her public Facebook and I didn't understand how she thought that would appeal to anyone!

ICJump · 29/01/2018 03:49

Ive just seen a juice plus not saying her kids are getting free supplements as part of health study. Very worrying. Hard to know what to say to her. The “business” has only just launch.

ArbunneHun · 29/01/2018 11:40

The ‘free’ JuicePlus capsules for children are only ‘free’ if one of their parents has committed to a highly over-priced subscription to adult capsules on auto ship, I believe.

Still, what price can you put on your child’s health & IQ??? Don’t forget that these bad boys ‘cure’ autism and ADHD, childhood obesity and boost their immune system!

WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks · 29/01/2018 12:11

Maybe the kids of the FL bots need the capsules then as I swear their kids always seem to be ill because of despite the daily dose of aloe.

Norma27 · 29/01/2018 12:43

I’ve noticed how ill their children always seem to be too.
I’ve mentioned this before but I was furious when my daughter’s gymnastics head coach started Herbalife and pushing the crap onto the children. My daughter no longer goes there.

darceybussell · 29/01/2018 12:52

Former US gymnastics star Shannon Miller is a juice plus bot it would appear. There must be a trend amongst gymnasts with susceptibility to MLMs! Maybe it's because it's all amateur so they don't get paid very well.

Norma27 · 29/01/2018 13:04

Nile Wilson is always at Herbalife events and was again this weekend. Makes me so angry.
Ronaldo is another sports star too. He definitely doesn’t need the money.

MumBlog4 · 29/01/2018 13:23

Hi all....

Been keeping up to date with the thread but haven't contributed as I need to do my tax return and today is my only day off... Talk about last minute 😂 my accountant is ready to sack me as a client I'm sure of it.

So, Ariix.... I've seen various posts where a sapphire from flp went there.. .. I've seen an increase in these bots and also a massive increase of acti bots? Any ideas why? I've had several friend requests on my social media and likes on my business page and it's now getting to the point (since the poonique bot incident last week) where I'm stalking fb profiles to see if there is any whiff of MLM on there so I can be armed and ready.
