It's still jaw dropping how those who have had their fingers so badly burned on this have jumped straight into yet another MLM. I know Ive said it before but it absolutely baffles me. Why would you just throw good money after bad?

As recommended I'm reading Agents Of Deception and it's scary. The cultish behaviour and the threat of being some kind of pariah if you don't believe 100% is so, so scary. Even the mention of women not working. I get that now. If women aren't out at work they aren't going to see others people outside the group, make other friends that may take their focus off the fake "sisterhood" of the company. Their social network becomes the people in their phones. I read a reply to one of Salonbot's threads once where some poor woman said "you don't know me yet, but you will" and I just felt so sorry for her. That was about 2 days before HighStreet went live and I wonder what happened to her and her £500 worth of now useless instant coffee. Someone had taken full advantage of this woman and I wonder how they sleep at night.

GavinFromTradingStandards · 21/08/2017 09:52

SSDGM I saw that woman's reply too. Hope she saw sense.

I see stokebot was posting pics of his latest coffee order, highlighting the zero VAT on the invoice.

Is this because Xerveo is too small to bother with VAT (revenue less than approx 70k) or because they're dodgy? Or both?

SSDGM · 21/08/2017 12:53

As if his business is VAT registered 😜😂😂

cozietoesie · 21/08/2017 13:36

The trouble with Vat - as for tax - is not just paying it, it's proving matters. I'm sure that anyone here who has had a VAT or tax audit can attest to the sheer horror of them. Wink

GavinFromTradingStandards · 21/08/2017 20:59

For those of you that haven't seen BradfordBots most recent live-please watch it. Victims of Valentus fb page have shared it.

I saw it.
Wasn't sure what ti make if it , but the tears did look real and it looks like she's been genuinely fucked over.
Where do all these people stand in regards to not having been paid?

TheRealBarnbot · 21/08/2017 21:17

I am trying to help them regards section 75 consumer credit act based on a misleading information clause but a bit hit and miss. Charge back also being given a shot.

GavinFromTradingStandards · 21/08/2017 21:18

She's being genuine-I'm almost certain. I know people that know her.

Barnbot-as discussed, you're amazing. Star

God it makes me so angry.
She said she questioned salonbot repeatedly.
This is all just getting darker and more twisted.
Is the money she's owed her pay/commission or what she spent on stock?
Poor thing, I do hope her and the others will be ok.
Can pay/commission legally be held back if it's been earnt?

TrippleFlappyDiamondSparrow · 21/08/2017 22:13

Jonsey32 - It's a legacy payment from what I could make out. Something along the lines of 4 people underneath them they get $200 on the 4th person they sign up. She was only get $100. It all sounds very pyramidy!

I really feel for her, those tears looked real, someone that just let out every emotion that had building inside of her. Sounds like she has a lot going on outside of this so is probably the last thing she needs.

These uplines that have made out like everythings okay (I'm reffering to you Salon and your dirty upline) are a fucking disgrace.

Jonsey32 · 21/08/2017 23:06

What upsets/worries me the most is that she's already on to the next MLM.
I find it so upsetting that lessons don't get learnt.
An ideal scenario would be that people realise it's all a load of old pants and decide to go back to the real world.
I feel for her so much but I just want people to leave the industry.
It's the industry that creates these issues .
Oh I feel so sad 😭

Thinkofanumber · 21/08/2017 23:16

Coffee to prepare at home is zero rated or exempt for VAT.

I wonder if other MLM companies declare VAT on their VATable products? Thinking of Younique in particular.

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 21/08/2017 23:26

It shows a real lack of confidence in their own abilities that these women ( it seems to be mostly women) think that they can't earn a decent wage from a job or start a legitimate business. They seem trapped in the MLM world by self doubt. It makes me think of the BBC gender programme in which the girls were constantly doubting their abilities.

TheRealBarnbot · 21/08/2017 23:37

Jesus I am not even being sarcastic now, I have spent every night reading through so much and searching. You have no idea how bad this gets. Forget the illegal product thats the least of their worries. Salon has no idea who she's working for

Jonsey32 · 21/08/2017 23:41

Tw1nsetAndPearls
I agree. I'm sure we've all has similar experiences. You work in one industry and it doesn't work out or or isn't for you so you move on.
All through my teenage years I worked in hospitality, my first degree is in hospitality management and then I realised I didn't like it and so I retrained and now I'm a social worker.
If one MLM proves untrustworthy/bad/ illegal I just don't know why they go back for more.
It really worries me. I am sure skills are learnt and so surely they could be transferred elsewhere?
Is it a fear of losing the elusive six figure salary? I don't know.

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 21/08/2017 23:43

@Jonsey32 my husband has just pointed out that I have been trying to leave teaching for years but I don't feel able to do anything else. I guess it is similar

Jonsey32 · 21/08/2017 23:43

TheRealBarnbot
Sounds like you've uncovered even more that you thought you might?
Take care- if salon has no idea who's she's working for , I'm concerned for you too x

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 21/08/2017 23:43

@TheRealBarnbot Is salonbot working for Donald Trump?

Jonsey32 · 21/08/2017 23:47

Tw1nsetAndPearls
That's very true! Believe me I have my wobbles in social work- my sister is also a teacher so I know her wobbles too!
The point is, I guess, these are exhausting but viable careers. YEs we work over the odds but we have set salary, maternity pay, annual leave, pension.

Yes we might Be underpaid and sometimes unappreciated but we have a vocation.
We really can move on if we want.

I know I have options, personally, I feel stuck with pressures sometimes but I know I couldn't move on if I really really wanted to.

Jonsey32 · 21/08/2017 23:54

*could move on if I really wanted to.
Bloody phone!

Ladiva1971 · 21/08/2017 23:57

I have an NVQ lvl 2 in plumbing and I worked for 12 years as a plumber and yes I am female I never wanted to progress to being CORGI registered so I didn't work towards the NVQ lvl 3. At my peak I was earning £200 a day before tax I also was working cash in hand in my spare time, but having succumbed to a few injuries I was forced to give up the job I love. I became a SAHP and fucking hated it and after 2 years I got a weekend job (much to my partners disgust) and I worked my way up the ladder. I can truly say I am 100% happy in what I do now, as I get holiday pay sick leave, and recently I was fully paid 2 weeks compassionate leave. Can anybody in MLM or NTW claim to have the same benefits as I do?

TheRealBarnbot · 22/08/2017 00:44

Donald Trump looks relatively trustworthy in comparison haha!!

fitgirl26 · 22/08/2017 07:07

I feel sorry for BradfordBot despite having a rant about her in the past. She is a single mum with a severely epileptic child so I she sees MLM as the only job open to her and the Big Bots have sold her Xerveo as the Next Big Thing.

lasagnefortea · 22/08/2017 08:50

Where is the proof that Xerveo is registered and OK for resale? Sounds like out of the frying pan into the fire if she joins another MLM and it doesn't sound like she can afford to be without the cash if it all goes tits up.
