My first gubbing...ladbrokes!

MissFitton · 22/10/2017 21:06

Feeling suitably affronted Whisky? Grin

Autumnfalling · 22/10/2017 21:11

Any idea how long the free bet with betfred takes to come through?

Whisky2014 · 22/10/2017 21:31

I am, as it happens, miss! I felt quite put out! What really pissed me off is that they were happy enough to take my bet just not give me the promotion to go with it nor tell me my account was restricted until I asked where my free bet was. I believe i even threatened them with trading standards! Haha

MissFitton · 22/10/2017 21:35

Grin Coral did the same with me. No email to say I was gubbed, just the inability to place a bet and a free bet sitting in my account which I can not, apparently, use.

midgetjen · 22/10/2017 21:56

Just curious with the talk of gunning how long you have been matched betting before being gubbed or how many offers/free bets you have had with a bookie before it has happened? Am only a few weeks in at the moment

titchy · 22/10/2017 22:14

Depends midget. One bookie sent the gubbing email as soon as my deposit had gone in! Sky I lost in the summer just before completing their free £30 club thing - betting from abroad probably lost me that one! Coral I've only just lost after 6 months (it was my first bookie). I'm very bad at account maintenance though - I tend to do smash and grab style MB!

HeyRoly · 22/10/2017 22:26

Coral gubbed me by making my maximum stake £0 Hmm Paddy sent at least three separate gubbing emails. With hindsight, I was naive and used to choose an arb if I was doing a qualifying bet and an arb was available. I avoid them now.

I think my days are numbered with Betway because I'm stake restricted with their weekend football price boosts. Tried to bet £25 but my stake is reduced to £11.71 or something silly like that.

MissFitton · 22/10/2017 22:28

I'm similar to titchy - been MBing since about April, lost skybet in the summer and just lost Coral. I too am not that good at looking after my accounts...

Whisky2014 · 22/10/2017 22:35

Matched betting since April too. I don't ever really mug bet but I had actually placed just a punting acca on there so I'm pissed because really, I was more a normal better on ladbrokes. Ho hum

ASauvignonADay · 23/10/2017 10:43

I have been MBing since August and have been gubbed once, by betway as soon as I signed up!

Now I use ‘ghostery’ on chrome as a lot of the bookies use trackers.

ASauvignonADay · 23/10/2017 10:45

I’ve just requested a withdrawal from K8 for a rather large sum. Feeling nervous as it says on K8 that is is complete, but hasn’t appeared in my bank. Guess it could be a few days, but eek!

M4Dad · 23/10/2017 15:34

If you withdrew on a weekend, including a Friday, it won't hit until Tuesday or Wednesday.

ASauvignonADay · 24/10/2017 20:55

Fab - received it today. I’ve paid off my overdraft trough MBing!

MissFitton · 24/10/2017 21:22

Good stuff Sauvignon!
That's a good point - what is everyone using their winnings for? I'm overpaying my mortgage which may be dull but makes me feel better about everything.

titchy · 24/10/2017 21:31

£2k of mine is going to dc1 at university (next year another loan will be paid off so I can afford the support after that!). Dc2 has had £300 to cover D of E and I'll have to use a similar amount to cover extra car insurance after their 17th birthday... after that it's topping up our family holiday fund, hopefully meaning rather than cheap 3 star B and B we can do 4 star full board...

Always good to have a plan for your winnings titchy! There's a thread on PA about what people do with their winnings. I tend to take it with a pinch of salt - just like the threads for total monthly winnings... Grin

Alittlepotofrosie · 24/10/2017 22:28

I'm hopefully going to pay off some debt with it! I made £300 when i did it a few months ago and to be honest i frittered itaway. Should have put it on the credit card.

titchy · 24/10/2017 22:39

Anyone else doing the dragon fish bingo loophole? Seems to be quite an easy way of making £20 or so twice a week. And there are billions to go through!

OP posts:
MissFitton · 24/10/2017 23:01

Have missed that titchy - will investigate.

bluedaisy1 · 25/10/2017 21:19

@titchy bingo loophole sounds interesting! Do you mind telling us more? I haven’t tried bingo yet but really want to give it a go. Might try tomorrow. Apparently afternoons are the best time?

bluedaisy1 · 25/10/2017 21:22

I’ve just started but am already beginning to chip away at my overdraft. That’s my first big plan for any winnings. Dreaming of the day I can live in the black!

Whisky2014 · 25/10/2017 21:34

How many have you done titchy? I think i did up to 10 but didn't make much money from it at all. Do you know if tombola bingo has it because u see their welcome off is deposit 25 and they give you £50.

titchy · 25/10/2017 21:37

Dragon fish sites (foxy bingo, costa bingo etc). Deposit £10 and get £30 bonus. Place as much of your £40 balance as possible (so start with games a few days in the future, and work backwards). As soon as your first game starts do not buy any more tickets. Winnings go to cash balance (a typical player would only play a few games at a time and end up buying more tickets with their cash balance before their bonus). Typical returns on bingo are 50% so buying £40 of tickets (don't put the lot on jackpots though as there'll be loads of players) should yield £20 of cash to withdraw, and a chance of more of course (I won £75 yesterday!)

Only do one a week though and withdraw before you open the next account - these are easy gubbings.

titchy · 25/10/2017 21:39

OM (and other sites e.g. The Advantage Gambler) have details of which sites it works with, don't know if Tombola is one. I've done two so far - combined cash from both is £130 from 2 x £10 deposits and a couple more games to come.
