Spins - always worth a go if they're free! You might hit a bonus round that'll earn you £20! Even with wagering you may still end up keeping most of it.

Busting out is common though - it just means that before you've finished the wagering you've used up all you free spins and any money earned from them.

Always keep an eye on your original balance to make sure you don't go below it when wagering. Auto spin is useful for that as you can set it to stop once you've lost a certain amount. And stops you getting RSI!

Thanks titchy, I'm running out of exchange money to keep doing the welcome bets I need to wait till funds go back to my bank, very annoying. So thought I'd look at other things. For example coral have sent me a 'deposit 10 and get 10 pound slot bonus' email. The bonus needs to be wagered 10 times. Should I stay away from offers like this until I know what I'm doing?

MissFitton · 28/09/2017 21:36

Thanks for the heads up re Bet365 Roly - I'm now going to attempt not to 'do-a-Roly' and win at the bookies! Grin

Totally ballsed up my Coral bet and get yesterday. Unmatched lay bet meant I've lost £25 to gain a £5 free bet Hmm. Just going to punt the free one as the whole thing seems pointless this week! Trouble is I know nothing about sport really so don't know what a good punt would be!

Frazzled74 · 29/09/2017 06:03

Morning all, so I have a £10 free bet with Stan James and £70 in my bet fair account. What kind of odds should I be looking at to maximise my earnings? I've been looking at the profit accumulator calculator and it seems only possible to make around £7 no matter what the odds are? Also how do you carry on making money if you run out of free bets?

titchy · 29/09/2017 08:22

With £70 in liability you should be ok up to odds around 8.0 (but choose an event that happens today - horses maybe - as you don't want your £70 tied up for days). The higher the odds the better the profit so choose at least 5.0, and you should aim for an 80 or 90% match - the closer the better. Plug the numbers in and aim to make £8 or more off the free bet.

Oh and you don't run out of free bets (unless you're gubbed...). Bookies always want to encourage you to bet - there's weekly bet clubs (bet £25 get £5 free) and always offers - Betfred had bet £10 on a particular rugby match get a free £5 for another rugby match, Ladbrokes ALWAYS have football freebies, coral always have risk free bets etc.

If anyone's a bit nervous of spins William Hill are giving away 10 free spins on Starburst (promo page then opt in), with winnings only needing to be wagered once, each day for the next few days.

Nice easy intro! Make sure maximum lines (15) is selected and minimum stake (2p a line) when wagering.

What do you mean by having payout checked? Have you backed with Betfair (blue) rather than layed (pink)?

I know this the bit you mean ninja, I wondered what it meant myself earlier today. So paying attention to replies. I hope it works out ok for you.

I've decided to give up on casinos for now I just don't understand wagering. If you win on free bets but then you need to play it through lots more times how is it possible to gain anything! Boggled!

Ah that's annoying. I made a mistake earlier too, backed the wrong odds. Guess I'll see happens when the game finishes later. Waiting on 2 games to finish later and hoping it goes Into the exchange cause I've only got 40 quid in there now!

baggagereclaim · 29/09/2017 20:24

On the subject of the Bet365 offer I think I've also made a mistake and I'm panicking! Help please!

I have backed £200 (!!!) with Bet365 only to then realise that there isn't enough in the exchange. Not placed the lay bet yet as don't feel confident about fixing unmatched bets. Argh!

What is the best course of action?

£87 in the exchange for a football match tomorrow...

baggagereclaim · 29/09/2017 20:29

Ah that's changed again...now there's only £15 in the market...

HeyRoly · 29/09/2017 20:31

You don't have to place large bets with the bet365 offer. I rarely bet over £25 so to avoid attracting suspicion that's what I'm doing. It'll take a few days to unlock the £200 bonus but so be it.

theresheis it's not too difficult to fix an unmatched bet. You can wait and see if it will get matched, but with Betfair now if the odds rise (say you laid at 2 and they've risen to 2.2) and then never fall back again, you'll never get matched. That's a new thing; it used to be easier to get an unmatched bet matched.

You could cancel the unmatched portion and lay again at the "new" odds (at Smarkets if you have an account). There's a website called TrickyBet that has a partial lay calculator.

HeyRoly · 29/09/2017 20:32

Here it is

www.trickybet.net/lay-calculator

baggagereclaim · 29/09/2017 20:49

Thank you HeyRoly

I was using Smarkets and the amount in the market is now £5. I haven't placed the lay bet at all as I'm now hesitating. Currently don't have a partial match as have only done the bookies bet not the exchange. Should I go for it and lay what I can?

I guess what I'm unclear about is what this "new odds" thing is? I have watched the tutorials on PA and it refers to these but the odds are the same...

1.65 to lay - £6 in the market.

I need to lay £206.21...

How do I change the odds?

Thanks in advance...

titchy · 29/09/2017 20:58

Get it layed - there's always money in the football market (unless you've backed the bottom of the Azerbaijani league 4...) - you might have to wait in a queue but you should be ok.

Lay now and check how much is matched tomorrow and to make sure the odds haven't drifted.

AutomaticSteeple · 29/09/2017 20:58

Is the idea behind these large deposit bonus bets to use the initial as a trigger deposit to get the bonus and then use the bonus as a normal snr bet to make the profit, or am I missing something?

titchy · 29/09/2017 20:59

Safest thing is to lay at the odds showing but if you're feeling confident you can overtype the odds on the lay betting slip. Risky though...
