Plymouth - it basically means that your account is restricted so you can't take advantage of the offers.

I'm really struggling to get my head around price boosts. I've read the instructions on PA but all the boosts for today are still coming up with losses for me on the calculators. Help!

strawberrygate · 23/06/2017 11:24

missfitton just counted and I'm in over 60 bookies!! Bloody hell, never realised it was that many! Day to day I don't use them all of course. Depends who has an offer on. today I'm doing hills, betoonbrazil. 21 bet, 10 bet , coral, sporting bet and netbet.

Luckily no kids today except my own one little one who goes to nursery in the afternoon so I can watch the itv races and do any last minute bets. Odds are often best literally a minute before the race

MissFitton · 23/06/2017 11:28

Grin at unknowingly having sixty bookie accounts!

I use the Ultimatcher spreadsheet which is really useful. I've got some time off coming up soon and then I will be poring over the PA forum learning all the things I need to make some decent cash!

Finally back :)
This thread has been a twat loading in iPad so I've been quiet..glad to see everyone still making money.

Profit Accumulator vs Oddsmonkey

I Recently had an offer where you get full access to profit accumulator for a few days £1, I gave it a whirl (as welll as using the free two weeks when I initially started) and I still prefer odds monkey, although both sites pretty do much the same thing with oddsmonkey being a little cheaper. People on forums are as friendly and fast responding on both. It's just a case of personal preference but both offer free trials so there's no harm in signing up to both and seeing which layout you like best.

@strawberry, can I ask a question, it might seem like I'm being a twat but i don't mean to me, it's just that you mentioned having accounts under your maiden and married name and that dh and mil also have accounts, can I ask if your 25k profits is a combination of profits from doing offers with multiple accounts? 25k sounds massive and I often wonder if when people say they make tens of thousands of pounds in a year if it's a total of profits from multiple accounts from same household, or even from using bookie accounts under other family and friends names.

Still a good whack of money (of which I'm jealous haha ) if it's earnt between several people's accounts it's why so many feel it's out if their reach if they are just using one account.

AloeAloe · 23/06/2017 22:06

I'd love to know how it's possible to get round the rules of one offer per household. My DH would like to do it plus my son. Please spill! Smile

strawberrygate · 23/06/2017 22:33

basically, once I'm gubbed, I close the account down, wait a couple of weeks then reopen in eg. DH name. The vast majority of bookies are Ok with this. If they're not, you know straight away 'cos you'll be stake restricted from the off. So, in effect, I am only using 1 account per bookies at a time.
Some bookies are quicker to gub than others. eg. myclubbetting are lovely, as are 10 bet, 21 bet and my club betting. Some are quick to gub but there are ways round; eg. paddy power will gub you from free bets but you are still good for 2 up in the football which earnt me a fair few thousand last season.

OverthinkingSpartacus · 24/06/2017 00:50

I know there's a list of some partner friendly bookies on odds monkey that don't mind husband or other adults in same house having an account, but limit sign up offers and also usually promos to only one person/household/ip address/device etc. Husband haS a willhill account from years ago and live chat said it's fine as long as he doesn't do promos that I'm doing and vice versa. He never uses his account for anything other grand national flutter.

Ive read that playing under different names is fraud, my sister has said I could use her name, but everything I've read on OM say this is fraud and illegal, as you're pretending to be someone one else because it's really you who is playing and running the account.

I'm too much of a wuss to risk it if there's any chance that it is actually illegal. I know I could use a VPN and use sisters accounts that way but if im taking steps to actively pretend I'm someone else then I can't pretend I didn't know if that makes sense. Plus my bio would look at sisters bank account and think the extra money is his and spend it, he'd prob do it even if he knew it was mine and I'd have no comebacks at all. I'm not sure I trust anyone that much, because. Most of my friends have joint accounts with their dhs and if my money ended up in bookie linked to someone else's account I'd be nervous wreck in case they or their dh accidently spent it lol.

louisejxxx · 24/06/2017 04:02

Spartacus yes I've read exactly the same thing on OM...I think there's a very good reason that they don't allow people to post about multi-accounting. Someone actually replied to one of the moderators the other day when they gave their usual line of "it's a legal grey area" and said something along the lines of "I've worked in this area for a number of years and there is no grey areas - it is fraud and could mean a prison sentence if discovered" - that's enough for me to never try unless I was actually getting my oh to do it. I suppose the question is how could the police tell the difference...I assume they can't really,

MissFitton · 24/06/2017 09:34

Morning MBers!

Ascot has been a good learning for me. Things I have learned:

Don't get cocky and try strategies that aren't recommended (although I pulled off my 'bet early, lay let' thing again yesterday and made £20 on a qualifier)
Make sure you're betting on exactly the same market so you don't end up losing at the bookies and the exchange (and thereby wiping out that qualifying gain Hmm)
Read the forums and really get your head around what you're supposed to be doing (ie Price Boosts - I still don't understand how tying up, for example, £160 is worth 35p profit)

I'd steer clear of multi accounting too. Not worth it.

titchy · 24/06/2017 17:14

If anyone's with Betway they have Fun Mac at 123.0 (Ascot 5.35) while the exchanges have it at 15 - a MASSIVE arb if you can get in quick.

Missed that one titchy - my bank isn't big enough to cover the liability on that either!

HeyRoly · 24/06/2017 17:44

Ah, crapbags. No Coral bet and get club free bet for me AGAIN this week. I keep forgetting to opt in Angry

You can withdraw money any time, unless it's the product of an offer you have to work your way through.

Roly - I forgot to opt into the Coral offer too....

Iheart - keeping track of your cash is one of the things to get really organised with. My mortgage provider would have a heart attack if they saw my bank statements at the moment! (currently setting up a new account so I can have a purely MB account too)

FiveHoursSleep · 24/06/2017 22:12

You do end up needing around £500 floating in the exchanges though.

iheart I recommend the ultimatcher spreadsheet as it keeps track of everything. There's also a blog somewhere which shows you how to use it!

Hi. Does anyone know what the best VPN to use would be? I'm in Spain.

MrsKenningtonBag · 25/06/2017 12:11

Place marking! I've had a few months off and had a go last night on a few Ascot races.

GardeningWithDynamite · 25/06/2017 12:33

I think I need to learn Accas. I found a guide on the team profit website that I'm going to look at. There's a page that shows you what you should be doing if you want to make £100 a month (and other guides for higher amounts) and the amount of time it should take you.

I'm also going to start using the Ultimatcher spreadsheet. I've got money in quite few bookies now - it wasn't so much of a problem when I was just doing the new offers and withdrawing any money straight away but I've realised I need to keep better track than my own spreadsheet.

ShinyGirl · 25/06/2017 14:34

I'm aiming for £1k per exchange, I'm getting they're but not there yet.
