I'd just ignore the Cash Out option - it basically means you can cash in your bet at any stage before the match finishes. Basically the point is that you can cash out at any time before the match finishes, usually just to secure some winnings e.g. If a team is winning 1-0 but the other team look like they might score, you'd cash out early and get some but not all of the winnings.

No point in touching it when matched betting though as it will just mess up all the calculations and potentially affect your profit.

GinGeum · 06/05/2017 08:38

Ahhh okay louise, that makes sense. Thanks.

GardeningWithDynamite · 06/05/2017 08:47

@OverthinkingSpartacus - it's 888 casino - there's a "history"option, which basically lists all the spins that I've done with about 5 per screen but I can't see a percentage met or anything. I won 20 on the bonus so I guess it would be 20 x 30. I'm doing min stakes (1p) so spending 15p per spin because it's 15 lines. That's a lot of spinning!

If I click on the cashier option it says my withdrawable amount is 0 so I guess I'm not there yet. I'm not convinced it's going to tell me when I am though.

louisejxxx · 06/05/2017 08:54

With Coral this morning I clicked on my cash amount and it came up with a much more detailed pop up saying what I had in my "bonus pot" and the amount I still needed to wager...maybe see if you can click on similar?

Mrscog · 06/05/2017 09:02

Hi everyone - I'm up £41 so far! Going very slowly but busy with life at the same time!

GardeningWithDynamite · 06/05/2017 09:30

@louisejxxx - there's something called comp points - I've got 44 of those. I can't find anything that tells me how far through the wagering I am though. There's a page that says you get 1.5 comp points per £10 of wagering. Maybe it's that that I should be looking at?

Clicking on my balance doesn't seem to give me any more information.

TessTube · 06/05/2017 09:44

I tried the blackjack with my free Coral fiver, I didn't like it and I lost it all!

I prefer the slots I think no strategy required.

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 06/05/2017 10:05

I don't think there's any strategy to slots but what I have realised is that if I play around with the amount by spin I end up actually winning something. So I've used free spins at 20p a go and lost it all but if I've put it at 50p+ a spin I've actually won, not sure if it's just coincidence or not.

TheSleeperandTheSpindle · 06/05/2017 10:06

Obviously that only works if they give you £5 worth of free spins rather than just 10 free spins.....think I'm actually talking nonsense BlushGrin

TessTube · 06/05/2017 10:09

Oh and none of us are paid by the gambling profession what a silly notion, they don't actually want our type of business!

SunshineDeLaSoul · 06/05/2017 10:20

The gambling industry want to shut us down, not promote us!

I'm about 85 up for the week, waiting now for bets to settle as I need more in the exchange to cover my liability.

HeyRoly · 06/05/2017 10:34

I got one of those "money back if your horse comes 2nd or 3rd" offers yesterday. I read the Oddsmonkey info and decided to give it a go. If the horse comes 1st (or 4th or 5th) it's basically a mug bet, but I thought it was worth a go.

TessTube · 06/05/2017 10:43

I've put a small bet on Newmarket at Coral but didn't qualify for the offer

I've read that we should build up a good horse betting profile - since I read up I've been sticking to premier football.

Has anyone started doing this?

The thing is I wouldn't know a good horse from the back end of a pantomime donkey!

GardeningWithDynamite · 06/05/2017 11:02

I've only done horses a couple of times with small bets. The advantages of football (when it's on) is that there's usually lots of markets to bet on, lots of liquidity and the odds are fairly stable when it's not in play.

With horses there's higher odds, less liquidity and the odds can move faster so I think you have to be more careful. There's also the rule 4 retirement thing which can change your odds.

I think there's also more complicated rules for tennis when it comes to retirements too. That's why a lot of people stick to football.

MaidOfStars · 06/05/2017 11:10

HeyRoly
I think that's how many will end up trying to snaffle free bets - a mug bet with a chance to win a freebie.

Choconuts · 06/05/2017 11:54

Coral are doing a free £5 in play bet if you bet £10 on the Man City v Crystal Palace game before kick off at 12:30. The £5 should automatically appear after kick off

Choconuts · 06/05/2017 11:55

Whoops posted too soon -

I haven't made an inplay bet yet but reading up it seems the market stabilises at half time Smile

louisejxxx · 06/05/2017 12:27

I'm going to use my tenner' winnings from Corals £5 slots promo to mug bet them (and obviously lay it too so that I get a bit of profit from it) as I haven't really been near them since I did my sign up offer with them over 2 weeks ago and they sound like an ok bookie to keep on side.

imnottoofussed · 06/05/2017 13:30

Place marking, had a few quiet days cos I've got some qualifiers happening this weekend then I'll get a free bet. approx £360 profit in just over 3 weeks Grin

GrimDamnFanjo · 06/05/2017 13:56

Ugh even betting at half-time I have found in-play really hard. Made quite a few mistakes :(

louisejxxx · 06/05/2017 14:21

In-play sounds a lot more pressured to me 😣 I don't think I'm ready for that!

Waiting for the footie to start at 3...I'll be up to around £75 profit by the time they're done.

SierraJensen · 06/05/2017 15:09

Anyone else found Betfred impossible to change into decimals, despite selecting that option? Was going to bet on the Burnley West Brom match, but I took so long trying to get it changed into decimals, failing, and subsequently calculating the odds, that the game started and they changed too quickly. I abandoned that attempt!

domesticgoddesshaha · 06/05/2017 15:37

I've just done my first bet, the coral £5 QUALIFIER bet and layed at betfair.
I know sweet FA about football so picked a random horse that was second favourite running today and close odds at exchange.
Will be a 9p loss to get my free bet.

There were a lot of horses that went arb in the run up to their race, can see there is money to be made there if you are quick enough and have a good float to cover the liability. Although I read somewhere that arbing will flag you as a mb and get you gubbed.

domesticgoddesshaha · 06/05/2017 15:39

I have read about accas and acca insurance but I just cannot get my head around how you make money out of them.
Does anyone have a link to a completely idotproof explanation please?!
I've already read the teamprofit ones and although I understand how to do one, I still don't get how it makes you money.

titchy · 06/05/2017 15:48

I'm not entirely certain with accas, but basically on a five fold, if all five win, you win at the bookie with the exchange loss being less (acca odds always more favourable than the same five events layed as singles).

If one loses then that event will win at the exchange and your exchange loss on the others is small (on an acca stake of £25 you only lay £5 on each of the five events, and your odds should be low: on a 1.4 back and 1.45 lay odds on £5 the loss is only 25p), and although you lose your acca stake you get a free bet from it.

If two or more acca events lose obviously your entire acca stake is lost but you'll minimise the loss at the exchange.

Basically if you do several each week you make an overall very small loss on one, but can expect gains on the others.

I think - haven't tried it yet!
