And the one I laid a bit early because I was worried about the odds not dropping/not getting matched, well those odds dropped like a stone with loads of money in the exchange. Think I should give up today Grin

louisejxxx · 16/05/2017 14:33

Today does seem a bit of a washout matched betting-wise. I keep checking my emails like some frantic loon in case a reload has come through, and my bank account because I'm waiting for some funds to clear.

domesticgoddesshaha · 16/05/2017 15:15

I'm having a couple of days off betting but setting up a second bank a/c and shuffling funds around.

Will start signups again on weds eve I think.

GrimDamnFanjo · 16/05/2017 15:50

Heads up its the York race meeting weds to Fri.

happymum73 · 16/05/2017 16:07

I was gubbed by BetVictor today, I didn't get to use any of the £ 40 offers Angry

TheOnlyWayisGerard · 16/05/2017 16:13

I'm new to all this and I'm worried I've screwed it up already!
I placed my qualifying bet on team a to win and matched it on betfair. I immediately got my free credits through and put this on team b to win, in the same match and then matched it on betfair. Is this right? Or should I have waited for my qualifying one to come through first and bet on a different match?

titchy · 16/05/2017 16:16

Yeah should have backed on a different event (laying on the same event is fine) - you'll probably be gubbed.

TheOnlyWayisGerard · 16/05/2017 16:22

Damn. Will it still pay out?

domesticgoddesshaha · 16/05/2017 16:40

Wait ans see i guess but that's going to look really odd to the bookie.

Someone posted similar on OM forum. Apparently, if you contact them, they may honour your freebies.

MaidOfStars · 16/05/2017 17:53

I've immediately chucked free bets onto the same event as my qualifier. I wouldn't necessarily put them on the opposite outcome. In fact, I've been careful stacking bets that I don't back a draw and then, say, 2-1 as a score.

But perhaps it's reasonably rational to think "Well, I really want A to win, but if they are going to lose, I may as well get something out of it". It's reasonably common from my reading for people to bet against "their team" as a consolation if they lose.

TheOnlyWayisGerard · 16/05/2017 17:55

Ok. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I just went in all guns blazing and didn't even think about it until afterwards. Less haste next time!

FiveHoursSleep · 16/05/2017 18:05

I'm having a bit of a dense moment.
I'm doing the Totesport £25 risk free bet. I bet £25 on a horse with odds of 6.0 and it won ( dammit)- how much should I have won?

titchy · 16/05/2017 18:15

Your winnings would be 6 x £25 on a qualifying bet, so your balance st the bookie should be £175 (£150 plus your original stake)

titchy · 16/05/2017 18:16

Oh free bets you don't get the stake back.

FiveHoursSleep · 16/05/2017 18:22

So why is it saying I've won £225? I can't work it out!

MaidOfStars · 16/05/2017 18:22

You should have 6 x £25 = £150 in your account.

Was this your qualifying bet? Did you calculate your lay using the "risk free" option?

(titchy, we are working in decimal odds. Decimal odds 6 = fractional 5/1. And this was a risk free offer so not treated like a SNR bet)

MaidOfStars · 16/05/2017 18:23

Can you post a picture of your betslip? Or just paste the figures here?

MaidOfStars · 16/05/2017 18:26

Hang on, was it a horse race?

MaidOfStars · 16/05/2017 18:31

You've been paid at odds of 9. Totesport run an SP offer and I wonder if you've selected that option?

SP = starting post. In horse races, the odds change dramatically, especially close to the race. If you make a bet at 6, there may be a guarantee in place that should the horse start the race at longer odds, you'll get those longer odds automatically boosted on your stake. So I wonder if you bet at 6, but the horse's starting odds had dropped to 9....

MrsOnTheMove · 16/05/2017 19:01

Can someone clarify please ..

I'm about to place £25 bet with Tote to release the FB. How do I lay it? As a 'normal' or a free bet SNR or Stake returned.

I'm three weeks in and so far managing following the Oddsmonkey £100 start however had a few blips Grin managed to lay a bet and the actual bet hadn't confirmed! as well as not hitting the odds for a FB.

Overall made £200 managing with second offers etc. and have avoided Acca's, casino offers as I haven't a clue but I now feel I need to crank it up!

Have a Bet Victor FB for £10 FB equal/greater than 5 fold but am Hmm

Can anyone help?

MrsOnTheMove · 16/05/2017 19:20

Ah ok

Seen Risk Free option as highlighted above so assume that option. Think I should have used that previously with another bookie?

louisejxxx · 16/05/2017 19:25

You need to have a look at Acca Finder on Oddsmonkey and watch the videos for it. If you find any matches on Acca Finder you'll need to click on the calculator and change the option to "lay sequential free bet"

FiveHoursSleep · 16/05/2017 19:31

Sorry, had to go taxi kids. Here is my bet history, is that enough info. I deposited £30, but only bet with 25. I want to withdraw £200 to move back to exchange but will they ask for it back?

Has anyone tried to withdraw funds back on to a credit card at all? I accidentally did this instead of to my bank card - it will still go through won't it??? It hasn't shown up on my online transactions yet on my credit card account but already seems to have been processed by betfair. I'm panicking that the money has somehow gone poof!
