@MaidOfStars thank you - I'm coming back with my figures!

myheadsamess · 14/05/2017 23:54

@Maid

The Lyon V Ajax match had bookie odds of 1.68, lay odds 1.71 with a liability of £21.56.
Thank you, I think you deserve a medal but have some Wine instead!

LettuceMash · 15/05/2017 07:23

I haven't done any mug bets yet, but as I keep losing at the bookies think they must think I'm a mug anyway. WH keep showering me with free bets. I'm 300 up now Wine

I haven't started on the ACCAS yet either, but will look at those next weekend.

GinGeum · 15/05/2017 07:37

What's the next best thing to 'try' after the initial new account offers? I think I've pretty much made my way through the OM offers, and have done a few reloads, but not sure what's next to have a go at. I have to say, I still don't really understand what I'm doing, I'm just following instructions from the Oddsmatcher! So I'm wary of doing something more complicated...

titchy · 15/05/2017 07:39

I've done second place refund offers after my round of initial and reload offers.

FiveHoursSleep · 15/05/2017 08:25

GinGeum, I'm the same as you.
I've had a couple of big ( +£100) bingo wins which has boosted my earnings but that's not guaranteed.
I think I need the second place offer and ACCAs
explained in words of one syllable...

neonrainbow · 15/05/2017 08:35

I am not getting any decent reload offers of free bets. Just getting boosted odds ones which i don't really understand.

MaidOfStars · 15/05/2017 08:39

If you Google 'Zebra list of bookies moneysavingexpert', you'll find a post by a guy containing an extensive list of bookmakers, many of which aren't listed on OM. Worth having a look.

MaidOfStars · 15/05/2017 08:42

myheads
I wondered if I was out on the odds. The second bet wasn't a SNR?

Anyway, +£21.90, 73% turnover.

Horses and 2nd place refunds, in words of one syllable

If you make a back bet on a horse that comes next to first place, you will get your cash back as a free bet.

We make a mug back bet, one that comes with a chance to win a free bet.

Place your back bet on a horse in the field that has close matched odds and a small cash loss, and hope it comes next to first place.

imnottoofussed · 15/05/2017 08:54

Nice one maid Smile

NewUserName01 · 15/05/2017 09:50

I'm so confused. Can someone help me work out what to do with a partially unmatched bet?

I have a free £20 back bet placed with Stan James with odds of 8.5.
Then went to place £17.96 lay bet with BetFair with odds of 8.4.
However, only £11.31 of my BetFair bet has matched.

I've looked at www.trickybet.net/lay-calculator and just can't figure out what to do. I'm panicking too much to concentrate!

MaidOfStars · 15/05/2017 09:57

Is your back bet a qualifier?

MaidOfStars · 15/05/2017 09:58

Also need to know current lay odds.

MaidOfStars · 15/05/2017 09:59

And don't panic - we'll fix it!

NewUserName01 · 15/05/2017 10:02

The back bets not a qualifier it's my free bet.

Current lay odds are 9.

MaidOfStars · 15/05/2017 10:03

At Betfair? If not, what commission?

NewUserName01 · 15/05/2017 10:04

Oh, it's just matched!

NewUserName01 · 15/05/2017 10:06

I'm using Betfair.

I'm no good at this at all. Have been doing it for 2 weeks now. Made £189 profit which is good but seems piddly compared to everyone else.

I find it so stressful though!

My degree in Maths is not enough ...

titchy · 15/05/2017 10:07

If it's a horse they often take a little while to match - most of the betting happens within an hour of the race starting so patience!

MaidOfStars · 15/05/2017 10:07

OK. My calculations would have had you still at about 80% return, so would have been fine.

Have you read the technical thread I started (here in Money Matters)? I posted yesterday about partial matches - go have a look.

NewUserName01 · 15/05/2017 10:09

Thank you. I'll have a look in Money Matters for your thread.

I need to have a lie down in a darkened room.

My son's upstairs supposedly on study leave but fast asleep. Worrying about him makes it so hard to actually concentrate on anything else. That's another thread though!

domesticgoddesshaha · 15/05/2017 11:06

newusername teacher here (on a career break to be mummy for a bit.)
Panicking at this stage won't help.
If he's gsce, best thing you can do is sit down with him in a non confrontational supportive way and help him work out which areas in each subject he is weakest at and then help him plan his revision time effectively to prioritise those areas.
Remember that regular breaks are important to help the information sink in.
Apologies if this is teaching granny to suck eggs, but some people don't know how best to help.

myheadsamess · 15/05/2017 12:48

@MaidOfStars Flowers thank you. Those are the calculations I did but couldn't see the wood for the trees!

Much appreciated Blush

louisejxxx · 15/05/2017 17:00

All quiet here...waiting for a couple of money transfers to process and have had no reloads or any other kind of offer for that matter.

My Coral casino bonus was £2.
