Missed the end of your post before overthinking - hope you're at home now and have had the all clear and managed to get some sleep.

SierraJensen · 11/05/2017 08:53

I think there's also some world cup qualifiers, and international friendlies. Normally I despair if it's a sport-filled summer, this year I wish it was!!

MaidOfStars · 11/05/2017 08:54

domesticgoddess Bet On Brazil welcome offer has a massive play through, and OM suggests you have at least a grand in the exchange before attempting it. You could be grinding through that for months if you don't get it all into the exchange.

louisejxxx · 11/05/2017 09:42

Yes you're right Sierra and there's the Lions tour starting towards the end of the month as well.

MaidOfStars · 11/05/2017 09:46

I'll make a tech post on how to correct unmatched portions of lays.

SierraJensen · 11/05/2017 10:18

I read somewhere today- I think on the team profit fb group - that there's a new bet on brazil offer which doesn't have such a massive requirement. There was a specific link to go through - I don't think everyone managed to find it from the homepage.

louisejxxx · 11/05/2017 10:29

Just put a mug bet on the tennis later (my first tennis match) on skybet as I haven't heard anything off them in a while.

neonrainbow · 11/05/2017 10:45

Ive just stumbled across a site called freebet.co.uk. seems to list all the bookies and freebet offers.

domesticgoddesshaha · 11/05/2017 12:16

maid I did the offer that sierra mentioned.
It was a tenner on both teams to score and a fifty quid free bet if the bet won.
I layed so that it made fifteen quid ish guaranteed profit. Although now I wish I'd layed as a normal bet as I'd have made more. But that would be more like gambling so I Went with guaranteed profit.

domesticgoddesshaha · 11/05/2017 12:17

And there were no wagering requirements. Thats why I did it, otherwise I'd never have got through their normal offer!

domesticgoddesshaha · 11/05/2017 12:18

I've also discovered that if you Google for a bookies name + welcome offer you sometimes seem to get different /better ones that listed on oddsmonkey etc. Worth a go before signing up but check T+C carefully.

HeyRoly · 11/05/2017 15:44

Huh, I have a feeling I haven't won that double winnings bonus from Coral last night after all. The T&Cs said that the team had to win both halves, and although Atletico won the first half, the second half was goalless so technically that counts as a 0-0 draw. Hmph. Oh well, I'll have to cross it off as a mug bet!

HollySykes · 11/05/2017 16:21

Can anyone help my head around the Betsafe offer. It's deposit up to £30 (I did £30) and get the same as a bonus with 6 x wagering. It took me a while to realise that even though it looks like you make a small loss because you use 'normal' mode that if you deduct the £30 you got as a bonus you actually make in this case around £26 profit.

So far, so good. Then you really want your bet to lose so you have your win at the exchange and it's over and done with rather than continue to keep wagering/eating into your profit and needing an increasing liability in the exchange - am I right so far?

Min odds 1.8 - if I go for long odds I'll need loads in the exchange, but I'm more likely to win at the Exchange or I go for short odds but more likely to win at the bookie and have to keep wagering. Am I on the right track? Which is the best approach?

titchy · 11/05/2017 16:30

Long odds if you can afford it currently wagering my way through betsafe

MaidOfStars · 11/05/2017 16:53

Oddsmonkey community advice is to grind rollover bonuses out at low odds, as close to any minimum odds stipulations as you can. This minimises the impact on your exchange if your bet wins. And many people saying how frequently you lose an apparent favourite bet at the bookies.

Without picking on you particularly, this is the problem I posted earlier here with these kinds of offers.

When taking them on, we shouldn't need to consider how much we have in our exchange. The only concern should be how to make as much from the freebie as possible. Once we start having to bet a particular way because we don't have enough of a cash float, we begin to bleed money.

Hence, the advice to stay well clear of rollover bonuses until you have stacks of cash at the exchange.

AmateurSwami · 11/05/2017 18:36

Fab last post maid, I've been stung by one just recently (a rollover bonus). Won't be doing that again!

OverthinkingSpartacus · 11/05/2017 19:11

Hope everyone's had a good day.

Wasn't a clot thankfully, didn't get home until 5am though so none of us have had any sleep and have been dozing on and off today. Been given a third course of antibiotics. Feeling a bit bleugh today, so haven't done much In the way of MB as I don't feel fully focused, have just been doing bingo sites freebies. I'm about £10 profit for the day with bits and bobs, free spins etc, but a tenner is a tenner :) I'm over £300 profit for May alone so im more than happy.

Still no cigarette and still no cravings.

HollySykes · 11/05/2017 19:48

Brilliant news Overthinking, you'll feel better by tomorrow and no clot.

I like your approach Maid - I said I'd go slowly and then got impatient when really I should have waited to do rollovers. If I come unstuck on the Betsafe one then lesson learnt after all slow and steady wins the race.

ladasha · 11/05/2017 20:12

Work has been busy this week so haven't had much time to MB. though I've been steadily working my way through the offers. Have got lots of pending bets (I think six or eight on the big football games tonight alone!) I'm waiting to come through now as have drained the exchange low. It's quite hard to be patient at this stage when I feel like I've invested a lot in the way of a float here and there, but the spreadsheet is saying I'm currently £30 up so I'm happy!

Currently waiting to have a bit more money in the exchange now before I can do the Unibet £30 risk free bet. I might move my money from Betfair to Smarkets when it's topped up a bit - has anyone found this worth doing for the lower commission?

Had a bit of a fail with Betfred though - didn't qualify for the free bets as I deposited through PayPal. I must have missed that on the PA video. Though the guy on the live chat was a bit abrupt with me (I was pretending to be playing dumb Grin), so wondering if my account was flagged as a MB as I clicked through to them through PA. Have stopped doing that now - you live and learn!

I did manage to get back into my Coral account, yay! Thanks for everyone's advice on here so far, it's really helped. Glad to hear you're okay too, Over.

titchy · 11/05/2017 21:18

On 'refund if your horse comes 2nd' bets do you go for the horse most likely to win and lay in full, or is there a better tactic?

MaidOfStars · 11/05/2017 21:29

I played for second place refunds yesterday afternoon and all today.

I lay in full on horses that are close favourites (as judged by odds). This is the advice of Oddsmonkey. I considère underlaying, such that should the horse win, you don't lose anything on the bet.

Having placed maybe 8 bets (can't check as away from laptop), I have had one 2nd place (got a free bet), one not placing and six winners. Consequently, I have about a fiver in my exchange Grin

Had I gone with underlaying, I would have lower QLs. But I'm picking pretty tightly and my free bet winnings is still easily covering.

I asked about underlaying on OM community yesterday and got one response that was deleted - probably something rude about asking stupid questions/read the fucking guide/etc.

titchy · 11/05/2017 21:36

Thanks maid - I did my first today and the horse won so I made an overall loss which made me question my logic.

MaidOfStars · 11/05/2017 21:39

Maybe we should tally up after the weekend and see whether underlaying would have been better?
