Gotta love a bot spelling mistake

Stokeflatbot just called his son 'his heinous'

Teee heeee

cozietoesie · 14/06/2017 20:39

Are you sure that he's not been partaking of too much........iced tea? His behaviour rather sounds as if he has. Sad

BSintolerant · 14/06/2017 23:02

Sponge Grin

His Royal Heinous? Silly Count! Wink

TrippleFlappyDiamondSparrow · 15/06/2017 13:54

Stokeflatbot slagging off Vitae... again. Think he needs to look a bit closer to home.

RogerLimasOldestDreadlock · 15/06/2017 17:10

Lol at "royal heinous"! I might adopt that as a descriptor for mine on occasion!

Well, would you know it my "filing system" appears to have swallowed that leaflet. What a shame.

GoldenKelpie · 15/06/2017 18:45

To slightly change the subject a bit I have just spotted half a dozen 'friend requests' on my fb (I rarely look to be honest, they could have been there ages).

I didn't recognise the names and, upon looking at their profiles see that there are no other mutual friends in common either. However, there is a common theme, namely MLM Grin.

I can only assume that my stalking checking out some bots fb pages has been flagged up and, either they need my custom or they want to stalk me, in turn. I live such a boring fb life though, most of my stuff is private, nothing to see Wink.

Has anyone else has strange 'friend requests' on fb?

MrsGotobed · 15/06/2017 19:10

Not friend requests but I do get "Suggested Pages You May Like" , namely bots business pages.

RogerLimasOldestDreadlock · 15/06/2017 19:36

Someone has infiltrated a fb group I'm in for people with a particular medical condition trying to flog them "Plexus" - which seems new. Something about ketogenic something something. It's not listed by Botwatch blog (yet?)

GoldenKelpie · 15/06/2017 19:57

www.lazymanandmoney.com/plexus-scam/

I was intrigued to read your comment Roger featuring the word "ketogenic" as I follow a combined keto/LCHF/banting way of eating and there are MLM companies springing up offering cheat ways to take supplements to get into ketosis without doing the hard work of actually limiting carbs and going through the usual "keto flu" before your body transfers from being a carb burner to being a fat burner.

Keto/OS is another supplement promoted by an MLM company called Pruvit.

There is however no better way of achieving ketosis than just limiting carb intake completely and doing it naturally. Cheating just cheats yourself and achieves nothing in the long term.

For more information on low carbing, look at the Low Carb boot Camp thread on mn Smile.

GoldenKelpie · 15/06/2017 20:00

Roger I am presuming that the medical condition is diabetes related, or PCOS or FLD. All these conditions can be relieved or reversed just by limiting carbs.

RogerLimasOldestDreadlock · 15/06/2017 20:04

No, it's PKU, these people are already on a low-protein diet, if they try to limit carbs too what's left to eat?

They take a supplement drink already to make up for the lack of protein, it can't be healthy/safe to replace the remaining food with another supplement drink?

I half wonder if this is in response to many of the US insurers not covering the low protein foods/supplements (it seemed to be US based folk discussing the Plexus stuff)

RogerLimasOldestDreadlock · 15/06/2017 20:05

The only think I know about ketogenic diets is that they're used to treat some forms of epilepsy, with careful supervision of a dietician.

I'm pretty wary/sceptical of it otherwise.

RogerLimasOldestDreadlock · 15/06/2017 20:05

*thinG

(Ugh, sorry!)

RogerLimasOldestDreadlock · 15/06/2017 20:07

I'm not sure diabetes & PCOS can be reversed by a diet? Surely the NHS would be promoting that more. Sounds fishier than a fish market on a hot day.

GoldenKelpie · 15/06/2017 20:33

Roger, I know of people who have reversed their Type 2 Diabetes completely by limiting the carbohydrates that cause spikes in insulin levels.

The obesity/diabetes/NAFLD epidemic began to explode in western countries in the 70's after the new dietary guidelines were introduced in USA (quickly spreading to UK and other countries) which promoted low fat high carb diets to combat heart disease.

Thing is, when you take away the calories from fat sources what do you replace them with? Protein intake didn't change so the only thing was was to increase carbohydrates and make them the major source of food to eat. The food pyramid was created with starches, grains and fruits and carby veggies the major part. Fat was relegated to the tip Sad.

Even worse, saturated fat (animal fats) was demonised and people were encouraged to vastly reduced their use of, and to use synthetic margarines and highly processed seed oils which the human body does not cope well with.

What I have discovered is that by limiting carbs to vegetables only, eating good proteins and by freely eating saturated fats plus olive oils I have stopped being hungry, stopped needing to snack, stopped getting fatter (in fact got a lot thinner Grin). It is actually incredible what has happened.

I began this process March 2016 as a severely obese individual with 66% body fat (I was devastated to learn this). I got my usual monthly printout from the supermarket a couple of weeks ago and here is my current stats in the photo. For people who are insulin resistant, low carbing works beautifully.

The NHS won't officially promote it yet, although there are GPs and doctors who do, for example, google Aseem Malhotra, Zoe Harcombe, Rangan Chattergee (Doctor in the House) to name three medics to google.

Sorry to derail thread Grin. Can't help being somewhat excited about this way of eating, it has changed my life completely and I am a very happy (and slim) lady today.

GoldenKelpie · 15/06/2017 20:36

Sorry here is printout Grin.

p.s. I am not some weird infiltrator to the thread, I have been here since the beginning but have name changed a few times since (get easily bored with names lol).

RogerLimasOldestDreadlock · 15/06/2017 21:26

You did start to sound like a weird infiltrator for a minute there!

I agree about type 2 diabetes and dietary control. But I'm not sure it's a sustainable system for people without type 2 diabetes, and who already have a severely restricted diet. And certainly not when, as you say, instead of thinking about diet properly people are encouraged, by an mlm, to do an ineffective short cut.

Fortunately, the admins of that group have removed the plexus fishing post. These are a vulnerable group, always looking for something to make their dietary woes better. Sitting ducks.

GoldenKelpie · 15/06/2017 22:51

I know Grin, that's why I figured I'd better qualify that I wasn't weird (not really). Whether it is sustainable depends on the individual. Me, I find it suits my needs so I'll keep going.

Getting back to botspeak, my own personal bot, a colleague, has not mentioned her MLM at work for a while but is still posting on her fb. I am desperately hoping she sees the light soon as I like her, and it is hard to see her posting those truly dreadful hyper-positive hun posts. She isn't like that in real life for heavens sake!

cozietoesie · 15/06/2017 23:07

Maybe - if she used to talk about it at work (and she's still with her J.O.B) she's on the path to disillusion? What do you reckon?

BSintolerant · 16/06/2017 08:10

I've noticed a couple of bots who were FL managers haven't posted anything on their Facebook business pages, or anything FL related to their personal pages since the beginning of the year. They've also removed any references to being involved in FL but are promoting their real businesses / professions on their personal pages.

Have they seen the light that being involved in MLM schemes is damaging to their real businesses? If that's the case, I hope they have the guts to remove their FL pages for good. Maybe they haven't because they don't want to piss off their upline.

Has anyone else noticed stuff like this?

Rantymare · 16/06/2017 19:39

Does anybody know much about 'purefashion ' or dixies closet as it's associated wth?
A teen in my life is interested in doing it and I'm assuming it's an mlm? Cant find much online about it. I want to persuade her out of doing it without sounding a) as if I don't know what I'm talking about or b)that I'm chastising her which knowing her will make her more determined to do it!

Thinkofanumber · 16/06/2017 20:08

My Ariiiiiix bot has posted about 'negative people holding her back from living her dream and believing in herself' and a meme (attached). I bet her friends and family are worried about how brainwashed she is and she's getting criticism.

She also had a rant about a bot from some other mlm clogging up her Fb feed by posting 'ten times a day' - pot/kettle?

cozietoesie · 16/06/2017 20:27

Forgive me if I'm not clear on the mechanics but - couldn't she stop her posting by simply unfriending her?

DoratheExplorer17 · 16/06/2017 20:45

It's very likely BS. There are so many who are really struggling from what I hear. Literally on the cusp of jacking it all in because they just don't make any money anymore. lets hope they really do jump and stay out of MLM!!
