What would Costco have to say about their coffee being used like that? Someone needs to wake up and smell potential litigation.

Does this mean he hasn't made money out of betting the stock will go down?

Not so far - as I understand it.

It means that he hasn't come out of the short position. So at the beginning he says that to short sell, you borrow the stock and sell it, then you wait until it falls in price, buy it back and then return it to the person you borrowed it from. He has sold the stock but hasn't yet bought it back because it hasn't fallen in value yet. He hasn't unravelled it all because he still believes that the stock will fall to zero and he will make a shitload of money.

Part of the problem is that Ackman is not, I think, a particularly sympathetic character. Many people are therefore making a judgement that the object of his attention must of necessity be a 'sympathetic' company. Not so of course.

I'm half tempted to go and talk to them all.

Maybe if I arm myself with all the income statements etc I can go and just be difficult and stop them recruiting.

Although all the school mummies will be there and I'll be the bad guy for stopping them losing money, credibility and friends.

Maybe I won't.

Had another flyer at work today about a "youthpreneur markeg", with all the business logos around the outside. Guess which ones were included...

Body shop at home, Valentis, and Forever Living (and a suspiciously vague one which I'm pretty sure will be Younique). This is aimed at kids! And is something to do with a "mum" Market/entrepreneur thing.

I had to put it down, it's very existence was winding me up!
