Is it worth warning Age Concern about these horrible schemes?

cozietoesie · 23/05/2017 18:35

I was thinking that something like that might be a good idea. The notion that many of these residents could seriously be looking for an 'opportunity' is unrealistic in the extreme but - but - I think it highly likely that most will either have a small savings pot or will have relatives who would stump up to avoid Granny or Great Aunty being 'upset in their last few years'.

They are vulnerable in the extreme.

Moose23 · 24/05/2017 13:20

Here's a corker from Brow Bot - have replaced people's names with "xxx".

Does she really think the awful incident in Manchester is motivation to sell more aloe and worse, be proud of herself for her exploiting desperate people?

"Absolutely incredible evening in Gloucester sharing our opportunity with those looking for change

Today's horrific realisation of the wicked world we live in has driven me to work harder, building a future for my family

Huge welcome to xxx, who's been watching me for a whopping 8 years !!! Now the time is right

Really excited to work with you Xxx, great to see xxx & the next generation xxx too

Standing tall - standing proud tonight ❤️"

PurpleChai · 24/05/2017 13:59

Anyone seen that the CEO of a certain large MLM has made a 'charitable' donation in the name of the business to the Manchester victims? My friend who is a former bot but absolutely saw the light and left a while ago sent me a screenshot of the comments on Facebook and is absolutely disgusted. Conveniently the page admin has been deleting and blocking those comments which call them out for capitalising off the back of the attack Angry

Their whole world is MLM - they see most everything through a sort of 'MLM prism'.

It's disgraceful that MLM bots are exploiting what's happened in Manchester. It's a case of the brainwashed taking advantage of the evil actions of the brainwashed.

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 24/05/2017 17:46

Holy fuck, fridgepants Angry I am furious to read that message.

It reminds me of a very similar one where the fl bot was exploiting a very sick child and asking everyone to buy toothpaste and she would donate the £3 profit to his fundraising charity.

Surely anyone reading that message would think "why don't I just donate £10 straight to the charity?"

Fucking scamming bastards Angry Angry Angry.

Toobusytowee · 24/05/2017 19:20

Or the training day that was going to be more memorable than 9/11.

BethanyBarleywater · 24/05/2017 19:43

Former LTW Top Bot now banging on about Scoin. Only €0.79!! What could possibly go wrong?

lasagnefortea · 24/05/2017 22:50

A school mum (AKA Style Consultant_ is hosting a Captain Tortue clothes party, is this another MLM to add to my list?!

cozietoesie · 24/05/2017 23:02

Probably. Wink

Have you checked out their website? Down at the bottom of the front page is usually where you.find either the gen or the links to it.

CheekySmile · 24/05/2017 23:24

lasagnefortea yes it's MLM. I came across this one myself at a business networking event a couple of weeks ago. Needless to say it was the 'opportunity' that was being sold, rather than the clothes. And I'm not returning to that networking group as out of 20 women, 6 were network marketers.

BSintolerant · 24/05/2017 23:47

SS thank you for sharing the link to the leggings cult article.

lasagne 6 out of 20? How do you avoid all the hunning and eeeeeeeking?

BSintolerant · 24/05/2017 23:49

Sorry, that question was meant for cheeky. It's been a long day. If I took JP capsules or drank aloe juice my brain would not suffer such glitches. Grin

lasagnefortea · 25/05/2017 00:07

She doesn't try and recruit anyone, just peddling her wares at home parties and school fairs. I keep misreading the brand name as Captain Torture. Must cost an absolute packet to stock up on a rail of clothing!!

Sadly no hunning or eeking. My Facebook is a hun-free zone. I have no bot chums which is a shame as it'd be good for a larf!

lasagnefortea · 25/05/2017 00:09

Thanks for clarifying, CheekySmile

MrsGotobed · 25/05/2017 07:59

I read it as Captain Torture too - thought it was an S&M MLM Wink

SSDGM · 25/05/2017 10:37

Big influx of Truvison from Americans and Canadians on the selling pages promising massive weight loss on 2 pills a day, etc. Sigh.

SSDGM · 25/05/2017 10:39

Also, anyone else see StokeFlatBot is now bragging he's been pulled right to the top of the Valentus pyramid and has bought a car in his first month as he already has loads of people in his downline? Bit of a kick in the teeth for those paying $499 to start off...

fitgirl26 · 25/05/2017 11:55

So this is the same Valientus that Stokeflatbot was slagging off as useless on his ex-girlfriend's "the truth" live video when she bailed out? And they wonder why people don't trust them....

Tokelau · 25/05/2017 12:07

Has anyone seen the interview with Dr Michael Mosley on the Mumsnet Facebook page?

This is the second comment underneath:

"Aloe Vera drinking gel high % helps with the gut and neutralises the acids. Also includes vitamins and amino acids.....really helps my digestive system."

DoratheExplorer17 · 25/05/2017 23:13

Whatever happened to the whole Ariix 21 days to 'the most incredible launch to happen EVER?' Haven't we gone past that now? So what was it???

And that person commenting on that post on the mumsnet Facebook page should know better about compliance, seeing as she's a manager!!
