As the last thread is almost full, here is a nice fresh clean one.

In a nutshell, matched betting is a clever way of making ££££ from the bookies without ever having to gamble.

This is profit accumulator

This is odds monkey

Have read. TAKE YOUR TIME!

Go for it spookle, what do you need help with?

louisejxxx · 18/04/2017 21:30

Approx 5 mins of my two football matches to go and as it stands my Betfair account will be looking very pretty soon 😬 Everyone keep your fingers crossed for me!

Does anyone know if it's relatively straightforward to withdraw from betfair? Will I need id?

HeavenlyEyes · 18/04/2017 21:35

is that link to PA in the first post your own affiliate link OP?

LettuceMash · 18/04/2017 21:45

Those who started a week or so ago, how are you doing money wise? I still don't really get it but DH has agreed to help get me started 😀

MaidOfStars · 18/04/2017 21:51

I'm £45 in profit for £50 of regular free bets (two bookies) and £25 of a risk free bet (Totesport; these return lower % profits).

I'm going for Ladbrokes next. I have enough in Betfair to cover liability on a £50 free bet at odds of 4/5ish.

But I need to subscribe to either OddsMonkey or PA to get the matching software to return Ladbrokes matches. Any strong feelings on either?

Spookle · 18/04/2017 21:55

Oh bloody hell! Thank you Verticaland sorry for disappearing. I went off to do a few dummy runs and 50 minutes disappeared down a rabbit hole.

I'll try it out tomorrow afternoon now as I'm going a bit number blind. Just waiting for a final result to come in so I can tot up today.

JesusDontWantMeForASunbeam · 18/04/2017 21:59

I've just signed up to PA but I've lost the page with the instructions on!

I've signed up to coral and bet Fred. How do I actually bet?

BlessThisMess · 18/04/2017 22:07

Yes monkeyface, I'm not complaining! I think it's brilliant!
Maid, I did my 2 free trials with PA but signed up yesterday with OM instead. Their explanations seem more complete and it's a bit cheaper.

Verticalvenetianblinds · 18/04/2017 22:10

My withdrawals finally came thro so this is how it's looking so far:
200 investment.
200 back in cash, (£100 replacing most of the child benefit I 'borrowed')
£70 in Betfair at the mo and I've got 1 reload offers outstanding tonight and waiting for free bets to land in 2 accounts.
Got another £30 cash in transfer from a good win

So a good week for me :)

(And loads of mistakes Blush)

BeeFarseer · 18/04/2017 22:19

I've used both PA and Oddsmonkey. I much, much prefer Oddsmonkey. Their match finder software was originally used by PA, but Oddsmonkey decided to set up their own service, so withdrew the use of their software.

When I decided to give matched betting a second go (I only stopped the first time because of illness, not because it went wrong or anything, don't panic!) having access to decent match finding was my main criteria, so I went with Oddsmonkey.

I think they're cheaper, so that's a consideration for anyone starting off. I found because I didn't have much of a starting float the first time, that PA's monthly fee was eating into too much of my profit. Saying that, I found their videos very helpful as a beginner. I've not looked at any of the guides on Oddsmonkey yet.

I'm £92 up, after a week of doing it, and really only doing it for three days out of the week, for an hour or so in the evening. I lucked out and netted £50 from a Betfair rebate offer they emailed to me as an existing customer, so that's accounted for almost half of it.

All of my float is tied up in the football tomorrow, so I can't do anything more until that all settles.

Patapouf · 18/04/2017 22:38

Is that 2k in 6 weeks estimate based purely on sign up offers? rubs hands together

I'm £98 up in a week, my paddypower free bet has been credited but I've got over £100 tied up in the exchange so I have to wait to use it. 188bet free bet is yet to come through.

What is a red flag?
I'm a bit worried I've bet on a few obscure footie matched so I'm going to watch the PA video on mug bets.

I want to pay back my savings account in the next week with my initial float. If I can manage a grand a month I'll be laughing

neonrainbow · 18/04/2017 22:39

Place marking! It all sounds too good to be true. I need to look into the links etc but I'm looking forward to seeing what you are all making!

Spookle · 18/04/2017 23:03

I think I saw a red flag earlier on the PA Oddsmatcher - the rating was about 105 and it was in red. Is that what it was? I've read too much about errors being made with them due to quick odd changes so I'm steering clear for now.

PA basic training video here - I kept losing it too so bookmarked it.

Matched-betting-basic-training

I seem to be about £115 up over 6 days. Have paid PA for a month and done a few mug bets so I'm very happy with that. I've got a healthy exchange balance so I'm going to keep up with the football

smileygrapefruit · 18/04/2017 23:12

maid you're a superstar for doing the technical thread, amazing commitment to the MumsBetters!

I hadn't done anything since early last week so just did a couple more sign ups last night.

Has anyone signed up to Skrill? Most of my bets have won at the bookies so all my money is tied up (although if I withdrew it all I'd be over £125 up from around 5 hours 'work'!!) so could do with an easy way of transferring money back to the exchange.

BeeFarseer · 18/04/2017 23:38

Yes, I have Skrill. It's not been that useful yet, because I'm still working my way through opening offers, and a lot of those require you to use a debit card, and will only pay your first winnings back onto the same card. I can see how useful it will be for reloads.

BeeFarseer · 18/04/2017 23:54

Ooh, thanks for mentioning Skrill, I found a tenner left in there from my first time around.

GrimDamnFanjo · 19/04/2017 00:06

I'm now £140 up from a week ago when I started.
I joined oddsmonkey but I also looked at PA. I chose OM because they offer a free personal training session during your first month and I want to know how to keep on after the initial freebies go.

TessTube · 19/04/2017 00:15

I'm not sure what my position is, I've lost about 50 quid in free bets through errors but no actual money.

I've done the triple odds bet so I'm going to have to see how that pans out before I can see but I think roughly 50 quid plus another 50/60 in cash back.

TessTube · 19/04/2017 00:17

That's since Thursday last week.

Bisquitine · 19/04/2017 00:35

DS has been patiently explaining how it works, think it's slowly sinking in. You have to rollover 2-3 x the free bets before you can withdraw cash @louisejxxx , at least on the sites he's used and I can't remember which ones now.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 19/04/2017 00:42

Place marquing

HeavenlyEyes · 19/04/2017 05:41

just to let you know - the link the op added for PA is their own affiliate link. They will make £9.50 from every person who clicks and buys throug their link. I think it a little disingenuous to have that link there and not advise folk she is making money out of you all. Is that allowed on Mumsnet?

Choconuts · 19/04/2017 07:23

I'm starting today! I've got a shiny new bank account with £200 sat in it and a child free day.

Just trying to decide between odds monkey and profit accumulator - I think I'm swaying towards odds monkey.

Maid - thank you so much for all the advice and comments on this and the other thread you're a star Smile

skerrywind · 19/04/2017 07:30

PLace marking

Mrscog · 19/04/2017 07:35

heavely the normal etiquette I've seen is for posters to mention it's their AL.
