As the last thread is almost full, here is a nice fresh clean one.

In a nutshell, matched betting is a clever way of making ££££ from the bookies without ever having to gamble.

This is profit accumulator

This is odds monkey

Ok - will get watching the vids - I can stump up that sort of float so might see how far I can get!

TuftyFinchy · 18/04/2017 19:53

Thanks for this thread. I was going to try and learn to crochet but this seems much more interesting.
Can I do it even if I know nothing about betting and I'm crap at maths?
Going to get kids to bed and read whole thread.
£150 to £2k in 6 weeks? Does that mean, in essence - with all things being equal, it's possible to make (quickly doing maths) £18k a year? That's a part time job! Is it tax deck arable?
Sorry - I'm likely asking questions already asked/answered. I'll go and read the thread. How exciting!!

TuftyFinchy · 18/04/2017 19:55

Sorry monkeyfacegrace I see I've just asked what mrscog asked before me. Will also watch vids/read thread. Thank you.

monkeyfacegrace · 18/04/2017 19:59

It's ENTIRELY AND UTTERLY untaxable.

It doesn't count towards earnings, income, benefits or anything else.

It's classed as gambling. Nothing more, nothing less.

We are just clever gambling Wink

Has anyone else found BetFred slow to settle?

I bet on a random Czech game earlier as wanted my free bet to come in time to use on the Champions League games tonight (free bets haven't triggered anyway) and the bet is still open. The game finished over 2 hours ago and the bet still says its open. A bit worried as my lay bet lost so I'm down over £12 right now.

Lauren1983 · 18/04/2017 20:01

Scrap that. They have just this minute paid out!

monkeyfacegrace · 18/04/2017 20:05

Lauren, be VERY careful betting on random chech games. It flags you up as a matched better like a rabbit in headlights. Stick to horses/big footy matches.

I've just done my trigger bets (don't know whether I did them correctly..fingers crossed!). Have now got my free £20 bet from Coral. Just wondered whether I need to use it up quickly and also if it is best to use it as 4x£5 bets. Also, I can't see anything suitable on Coral at the moment as, from what I understand, you should go for higher odds on qualifying bets and the football matches coming up all seem quite low.

Have just signed up for the free PA trial. I should probably have done that before placing my bets!

monkeyfacegrace · 18/04/2017 20:10

You can bet on anything you like, as long as you get matching odds. No need to use them quickly.

From £20 free bets you'd like to make £16 profit minimum.

Looks at the odds matching software and see what you can find.

I think the term and cons state minimum of evens, so anything 2.0 upwards.

Hi all, I spent a lot of time reading and lurking on the last thread but didn't post much. I'm glad most of my 'pending payments' from my bank account have now gone through so I'll try and do more tomorrow. I'm at a profit of £40ish after three signup offers so not exactly racing ahead here but it's a steep learning curve. Hopefully it'll all become more straightforward shortly.

monkeyfacegrace · 18/04/2017 20:12

Yes,but that's £40 you didn't have before, and you haven't had to move from your sofa, yes?

So that's a day out for a family of 4, a weeks food shopping, or half a tank of fuel.

Thanks monkeyface.

Another question. On the previous thread, maidofstars said that you can make a profit on mug bets if you make them on red flag matches. What are red flat matches? Also, how often would it be advisable to make a mug bet?

DangerousMouse · 18/04/2017 20:19

place marking - I'm just waiting for some cash to transfer to my account so I can do some more start ups, I made a bit of a mistake and bet on a red flag which changed odds by the time my bet went through, I'm not down anything but I didn't make anything from a free £30 bet.. aargh!!

DangerousMouse · 18/04/2017 20:19

Oh and William Hill seems to be a good one, I've had loads of reload offers, nearly every day.

Redactio · 18/04/2017 20:20

Can't be arsed to trial through all of the posts on both threads to see if this has been posted before, but there is a lot of useful information on the Money Savings Expert site - link below

TessTube · 18/04/2017 20:27

There is a good guide on PA on how to mug bet and which bookies are best to keep onside and which not to bother.

LettuceMash · 18/04/2017 20:30

Place marking

foxessocks · 18/04/2017 20:34

Hi all! I'm very slow still so hardly made anything yet. Couple of questions -

Bet Fred haven't given me.my £30 free bet yet despite me doing my initial bet over 48 hours ago, website seems to be down on my laptop but not on my phone - any ideas?

Also someone said William hill are good for reload offers but I was already a member with them from years ago so couldn't do the initial sign up offer, they never email me any offers is it worth changing my settings or something on their website so they send me offers maybe? I've had a few of the big ones where I was already a member from betting on the occasional big match over the years, very annoying!

Redactio · 18/04/2017 20:39

foxe:
Place a few bets with Hills and lay them off for little or no loss (or even an arb or two) at the exchange of your cloice ( I prefer Smarkets for their low commission), you will probably find that they start emailing you again.

Spookle · 18/04/2017 20:42

Fox try placing a bet with WH and see if that triggers your account. Check that their emails aren't going into your spam folder.

I've just received an email 'bet £10 get 3 x £5 free bets' from them and it's valid for seven days so you should get that.

Spookle · 18/04/2017 20:46

Here's the PA guide on mug bets. I think you will need to have joined up to see it.

Keeping-your-accounts-open

Spookle · 18/04/2017 20:58

Lauren did your qualifying bet meet the odds for the free bet? I did BFr a week ago now but I think it came in very quickly.

Spookle · 18/04/2017 21:01

Opps, sorry Lauren, I meant Fox on my last post re: free bet not arriving. I think both of your posts mangled in my brain Grin

Spookle · 18/04/2017 21:04

Would anyone be willing to go through a horse racing bet with me? I'm very wary after my loss the other day but I have a good balance in my exchange now so want try and have some quicker turnover.
