As the last thread is almost full, here is a nice fresh clean one.

In a nutshell, matched betting is a clever way of making ££££ from the bookies without ever having to gamble.

This is profit accumulator

This is odds monkey

Holly Sykes just to let you know, I contacted Ladbroke through there online chat and they credited my account immediately. I'd left it 24 hrs so thought I'd better chase it. I figure even a normal punter would want the promised sign up bonus, I will just be extra careful now where I place it 😉

sherrifffatman · 01/05/2017 19:52

Lettuce
A mug bet is to look like a normal punter when there's no incentive offer coming out of it.
You'd do the same as a qualifying bet, lay as usual, lose a few pence but hopefully keep your account looking like a regular punter.

sherrifffatman · 01/05/2017 19:54

Also, they say to vary the initial deposit amount, say it's bet £10 get £30 you could deposit £20 or £25 so it doesn't flag up as matched betting so easily.
They employ people to go through accounts looking for people who only appear for offers, stake minimum then disappear.

HollySykes · 01/05/2017 20:10

Thanks SandyDays I'll try the same and see how I get on.

neonrainbow · 01/05/2017 20:16

I guess william hill like me as I've had my second reload offer!

louisejxxx · 01/05/2017 20:33

No reload offers have come my way yet but then I am only signed up with Coral and Betfred Blush I think once I've done a couple more, which I should be able to do tomorrow, I'll then start doing mug bets on the ones I've already got going...just so it doesn't look like I've joined and then done one.

HollySykes · 01/05/2017 21:14

This is my second week and I've no idea how much profit I've got because it's all a mess. I've tried to use the spreadsheets mentioned, but one doesn't work on a Mac (I don't have a pc) and the team profit one miscalculated the profit when I input my first bet so I don't trust it.

My plan for this weekend onwards is to only use an old bank account I had for matched betting and to strictly not use any other money. I put £200 in on Friday and it's at £7now, but I have a balance of over £200 in smarkets. I'm going to keep that at £200 and any other profit either from bookies or smarkets will be transferred back to the bank account until I've built up enough to raise my float at smarkets to say £300. I've now done my own basic spreadsheet so I can keep track. I'm also making a note of which teams I've bet on with each bookie so I can follow some sort of pattern. Btw as an actual real football fan I thought you might want to know that a lot of people bet on the opposing team so if their team lose the match at least they win a bet, so it might be good to use that pattern too to avoid gubbing.

I'm waiting for free bets totaling £70 to be triggered from three bookies, it's super tempting to do some more and deposit from my current account but I'm going to be strict.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/05/2017 21:19

I've joined profit accumulator tonight, baby steps and all that.

fairgame84 · 01/05/2017 21:36

De-lurking to join in.
Started today, I've joined Coral and Bet Fred. I'm just impatiently waiting for my free bets to be credited.

HeyRoly · 01/05/2017 21:52

Think I'm going to have a few days off while I wait for my bank account to catch up with all the transactions. I've been logging all the payments but even so, my account is days behind so I want everything to clear before I open any new accounts. Also hoping for some reload offers to arrive by the weekend. I'm so paranoid about getting gubbed! Some of the posters on the Oddsmonkey forums seem to take it as a badge of honour or "success" Grin

titchy · 01/05/2017 22:20

AngryDamn my qualifying AND free bet have just won at 888Bet.

We must be the only people who actively want to lose at the bookies so we keep our exchange liquidity!

OverthinkingSpartacus · 01/05/2017 23:16

there's a good spreadsheet on OM, it adds profit and looses up for you and gives you a running total, I've adapted it a little to include columns showing where bet won and how much, date withdrawl requested and date cleared in bank. It also has a page for your login usernames etc and contact info for bookies. I think you can even use number from profit and losses pages to add and show how much you've made from each bookie.

Have my balance up at £120 on the coral casino offer, using blackjack strategy, hoping its that high at end of wagering as it'll be a good £50 profit.

Husband was laughing at me yesterday as I picked his newspaper up and went straight to sports section to see if there were any exclusive offers :)

Are any of you telling friends and family what you are doing? And what have been their reactions? I'm not telling anyone because I know I sound like a raging gambler and I'll worry friends and family because I know they won't "get" it.

My best friend came in when betfair was open on laptop and said her ex was always on that claiming he was making thousands a week, she said he'd be in there hours a day and it would piss her off because he was risking family money, that he'd say he can't lose but he was. always full of shit, so I kept gob shut.

If any family did get it and understand I know they'd ask me to do it for them too, it's often assumed that because I'm at home then it means I am free to do whatever they want at a drop the hat , pick their kids up from school, fix their phones, walk their dog etc etc

bonfireheart · 02/05/2017 00:17

Took the plunge!
Bets placed on Arsenal v Manchester. Free £20 coral bets used for Real Madrid v Athletico Madrid.
Am convinced I've done something wrong despite following the PA video. Having so many windows open on a phone is confusing n I was so nervous I wasn't reading the smaller details. If a goes well I should be about £13 up, which suits me fine :)

louisejxxx · 02/05/2017 06:25

Spartacus I haven't told anyone either for the exact same reasons - I didn't tell dp until a couple of days ago as wanted to make sure it worked first, plus he's been known to dabble a bit gambling-wise.

Money still not cleared from betfair this morning so I'm still stuck!

neonrainbow · 02/05/2017 06:53

I've only told my sister and that took a lot of explaining that i wasnt risking any of my own money. Its probably ridiculous but I'm proud that I've learnt how to do it. I think I've got some sort of number blindness (even the simplest sums are beyond me without a lot of thought) and normally id shy away from something like this but I've taught myself to do it and for that im proud. Hoping to pay off our debt. It would be amazing if i could do the £500 per month so i would have less pressure on myself to do many hours when my mat leave is over.

SierraJensen · 02/05/2017 07:30

overthinking no, not told my family either. Just DH and a friend, who thinks it's a scam! DH was initially sceptical too but he's good at researching things and after doing some reading was keen for me to give it a go, just on the condition I used a separate bank account (which I was going to do anyway).

SierraJensen · 02/05/2017 07:31

Also, I've been betting just on football, but the season ends soon, so what's everyone planning after that? Tennis?

louisejxxx · 02/05/2017 07:43

That's a good point...I'd forgotten that the footie season is all but over Blush

My favourite sport in the whole world is athletics but I don't think bookies really do anything like that unless it's a big championships?!

titchy · 02/05/2017 07:48

I'm sticking with horses and football. There's loads of horse races every day, lots of horses, lots of different odds.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/05/2017 08:07

I'm not telling anyone, but I'm pretty sure mil looks up my posts on here so she probably knows anyway.

Cba to nc.

HollySykes · 02/05/2017 08:21

DH and DC's have been teasing about my gambling to which I respond I'm NOT gambling, but they don't get it. Dh knows I'm too stingy to risk family money though.

sherrifffatman · 02/05/2017 09:53

I've made a silly mistake 😫
I put a bet on on Sunday, layed it on Betfair, it won at the bookies but
I didn't write it down,
I can't remember which bookies!!
I've been through every single one I thought I'd signed up to, it's nowhere to be seen.
I've got £15.40 somewhere that I can't remember 😂

MaidOfStars · 02/05/2017 10:21

Can you go through your laptop history to check which sites you've visited?

MaidOfStars · 02/05/2017 10:22

Re: telling others. I have managed to show my husband how it works. His accountant best friend can't grasp it at all. This worries me - I use him for free financial advice Wink

sherrifffatman · 02/05/2017 10:32

I did it on my phone Maid, still not found it, hoping they email as it was a qualifying bet I think.
