As the last thread is almost full, here is a nice fresh clean one.

In a nutshell, matched betting is a clever way of making ££££ from the bookies without ever having to gamble.

This is profit accumulator

This is odds monkey

Have read. TAKE YOUR TIME!

And enjoy the money Grin

Mind if I join in? Got inspired by the first thread and have made over £200 in two weeks, but have been lurking so far.

Sparing if anyone has any tips for in-play bets? I have a free one with Betvictor, but spent lots of wasted time yesterday before I came to the conclusion that they don't show on the Oddsmatcher when in play. So they have to be found manually? I'm not sure I can multi task well enough for that! Anyone share their wisdom?

SierraJensen · 30/04/2017 10:01

Thanks Neegan will give it a go later.

neonrainbow · 30/04/2017 10:19

Does anyone have any guide or links to information about what helps you to fly under the radar aside from mug bets because I have never betted before so I don't know what constitutes genuine betting behaviour.

SandyDays · 30/04/2017 10:54

Is any one having trouble with the odds being completely different on Ladbroke?

On oddsmonkey its has. (For example) back football team A at 2.25 but on the Ladbroke site the odds are 1.6. On betfair they are spot on.

maybe they are just having a hiccup?

MaidOfStars · 30/04/2017 10:54

Pick a footie team. Pretend you support them. Stick a fiver on them to win their matches, no matter how short/long the odds. Lay off as best you can.

Bet at different odds and different stakes. Don't always max out free bet offers. Let some offers go. Never email/contact to request a free bet.

Deposit money. Don't withdraw all big wins (but you are expected to withdraw some). When you lose a back bet, try to 'win it back' by making a bet at longer odds/higher stake.

Ask a partner who isn't involved in any betting to tell you when they'd consider making a bet. This will give you a feel for the profile level of one-off events/competitions.

Thanks maid you're a legend Grin

HeyRoly · 30/04/2017 12:10

That's really useful maid. I made a mug bet on the football at Paddy Power this morning. Figured it's a good idea to keep the big guys happy. Might do the same with Coral later.

NewUserName01 · 30/04/2017 13:03

Started yesterday and have cocked up already. Placed my £20 free bet with Coral and thought I'd placed my lay bet with Betfair but internet was really playing up last night and I realised this morning that it hadn't gone through. I'm now sat here hoping for Bolton to get a draw but they're already 1-0 up! Not something that would have interested me before.

HeavenlyEyes · 30/04/2017 13:19

Newuser - you can still lay the bet off now. Won't be great odds but better than nothing.

domesticgoddesshaha · 30/04/2017 13:24

Hi all, hoping someone can help me out with some newbie questions please?
I understand the concept of matched betting, and back/lay etc. I have a pot of money I can use. In an ideal world I'd like to make £500 a month from matched betting.
If this possible or wildly unrealistic ? If so, what kind of inital pot of money would I need, and how much time would I need to dedicate to researching and placing bets?
Also, how do you work out what to bet/lay and with which bookies?
Thanks so much anyone who can help.

GardeningWithDynamite · 30/04/2017 13:32

@domesticgoddesshaha - Lots of people seem to be able to make that amount of money, but not straight away. You need to do the sign up offers and learn some techniques. I think experience people keep reusing their profits until they've built up 1000 or 2000, which enables them to do more offers at once.

You get faster at placing bets. If you sign up to Profit accumulator or Oddsmonkey they have built in calculators such that when you click on their links it takes you straight to the correct page at the exchange or bookie. The calculators (e.g. OddsMonkey's Oddsmatcher) give you a list of close matches between bookie and exchange, which can be filtered depending on what you want. You plug in the numbers for your stake and it will tell you how much to lay.

neonrainbow · 30/04/2017 13:33

Domestic take a look at oddsmonkey it has some really good tutorials. The more money you have in your pot the quicker you can go through your offers. Use cashback sites like quidco to make even more money. I've made about £150 in 10 days and I've been going really slowly.

Notsandwiches · 30/04/2017 14:37

Can I join in too please? I've gone through profit accumulator. I did the Coral bet on Friday and then used my free bets yesterday. I won both the initial bet and my free bets but thateant I had next to no money in Betfair so I've cashed out to then put the money I won into Betfair. Anyone know how long it will take to credit to my current account? I've just done my £10 bets for Betfred and another one for the same match this afternoon, so should have my free bets available tomorrow.

Just wish I had more of a pot so I could go through the offers quicker!

So far I'm about £14 in credit. Yay. However it has taken me hours!!!

GrimDamnFanjo · 30/04/2017 15:04

Just checking in. I'm at the end of my third week and am just over £300 in profit.

Thought I'd share some of the mistakes I've made so far!
Not checking the odds to qualify - they vary between 1.5 to 2 and it's easy to assume the odds as I did with Sky Bet club - fortunately I spotted it and placed a second bet.
Ticking the wrong bet box on the OM calculator eg SR and not SNR by accident
Placing the wrong amount on the Exchange as the odds changed between checks
Placing the bet with the odds on OM and not realising the odds had changed.

Nothing too major and always down to missing something and not paying enough attention to detail.
Every time I make a mistake I reckon I will look more normal!

Thanks, that's helpful. I could in theory find that sort of money if it's going to make me money.

Which is better out of oddsmonkey and profit accumulator? Is it worth joining both?
grim that sounds good. How much cash have you put in to make that?

You don't need to join both. Oddsmonkey is cheaper.

louisejxxx · 30/04/2017 17:30

I'm still at a halt until my funds clear from betfair that I've withdrawn...I could technically sub myself the money but I don't want to get in the habit of doing that as I feel like it's a slippery slope from there to then telling myself to just "invest" another tenner here and there.

Incidentally - have you guys all dealt with iesnare? It's a tracking thing that bookies use to share information, which can lead to you getting gubbed. If you google it you'll find lots of sites telling you how to get rid of it for different operating systems.

SecretNortherner · 30/04/2017 19:10

Domestic. I started with £40, and after about 3 weeks I think I'm about £100 up. I make small bets usually £5/£10. This means I don't need too much in the ecchange. If your making bigger bets your liability on the exchange is going to be more. You can earn £500 a month, but it will take a while for you to build it up. I tend to remove my money from the bookies straight away and leave money in the exchanges. I find the thing that slows you down with a small float is waiting for initial payments to hit your bank. Most withdrawals take 2-5 days. Sometimes more. You can easily add more money back in, and that balance will be imidiate.
If you can afford it, use a bigger float, but take it steady.
Just use the software and that will tell you what bookies to use and what offers they have. Also sign up with the likes of topcash back or quidco. On top of you signing up bonus, you can also get cash back. Grin.
I use profit accumulater, try the free trials and see what you prefer. You may like one site better than another.
