As the last thread is almost full, here is a nice fresh clean one.

In a nutshell, matched betting is a clever way of making ££££ from the bookies without ever having to gamble.

This is profit accumulator

This is odds monkey

Have read. TAKE YOUR TIME!

And enjoy the money Grin

Mrscog - If you lay a £5 bet at long odds it could cost you a lot more than £20.

Redactio · 21/04/2017 19:23

Spookle: Your £0.19 loss earlier suggests that you are using Betfair with their 5% commission rate.
If you used Smarkets, who charge 2%, your loss would have been 2p. Trivial I know, but in the long term these small differences add up.

neonrainbow · 21/04/2017 19:23

I think i might unlock my next free bet tonight so i can use it at the weekend when my first bets settle :)

Verticalvenetianblinds · 21/04/2017 19:26

I'm on oddsmonkey, that's a good plan (if I ever have time between kids and work!)
I've done these so far, 10 in total, ladbrokes tonight ready for tomoro

To be honest I don't understand the risk free ones so I've kept away from them, will book a tutorial and see what I can learn

Verticalvenetianblinds · 21/04/2017 19:26

Completed offers.... have I missed any?!

Vert: Treat a risk free bet as a Stake Not Returned.

imnottoofussed · 21/04/2017 19:41

I had a missed call from sky bet has anyone else had a call and know what it's about?

OverthinkingSpartacus · 21/04/2017 20:18

I know someone mentioned being able to use bingo a couple of times, I've got some codes for free £5 credit for new users.

You don't have to deposit to get the fiver and there's no waging requirements so if you win with the free fiver, you can withdraw immediately. If you choose to deposit you can get up to £50 bonus money, again, no minimum wagering requirements.

i play bingo about once a month for fun and totally forgot about my referel codes. Dont know if it'll be of any use to anyone but, I've got half a dozen or so codes so if anyone wants one drop me a PM.

sherrifffatman · 21/04/2017 20:35

I would pm you Spartacus but I've no idea how to on my phone.
I've done everything on my iPhone so far, the Team Profit spreadsheet works fine, you put your odds in and it works all the rest out for you.
I did sign up for the £1 first month offer though, I can't remember where I found the link for the spreadsheet now.

Mrscog · 21/04/2017 20:40

Overthinking I would love a code if you have one spare.

My bet was all correct - my first free bet 'won' at betfair and my first £3 made! Whoop whoop!

Sorry no idea why that posted twice!

zebrano · 21/04/2017 20:55

Hi everyone,

I started MB about a week ago and so far have gone really slowly following the Save The Student instructions. Today have signed up for Oddsmonkey so hoping to get a bit quicker at it! Great to see a thread on here about it.

AmateurSwami · 21/04/2017 21:03

Argh my bank a/c has been blocked Confused

neonrainbow · 21/04/2017 21:04

I agree the teamprofit spreadsheet is so easy even i understand it!

BeeFarseer · 21/04/2017 21:17

Eeep, AmateurSwami! Mine did that in the beginning, until I rang and explained it really was me doing all the betting transactions.

I learned something interesting about Betfair tonight. I topped up my balance to the exact amount I needed for a lay. Call it £11.32. When I entered the stake, the liability showed as planned - £11.32.

However, when I went to place the bet, I got a message telling me that I either didn't have enough in my balance to make the lay (nope, I did have enough - exactly enough) OR that I'd exceeded my exposure limit.

By Betfair's own help pages, the exposure limit is set at a default of £5000, so you can't exceed that in bets you're waiting to settle. I didn't even have £100 of open bets, so there was an error somewhere.

I used the chat, and they got me to try adjusting the stake by -1p. I did, and it went through. Soooo... apparently Betfair rounds up your exposure. So don't make lay bets that will eat up the entirety of your balance, because they won't go through - you need at least 1p more.

Weird, not really important and easy to avoid, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

sherrifffatman · 21/04/2017 21:18

My debit card was also blocked earlier today, had to call the fraud team.
It flagged up because money was flying in and out all over the place.
I told them what i was doing and they were fine as long as it was me using it. They unlocked it straight away.

FiveHoursSleep · 21/04/2017 21:39

I'm just looking into matched betting and wondered how much of a pot I'd need to have a go. Also, how long does it take to take money out after you have won something?

Verticalvenetianblinds · 21/04/2017 22:01

I started with £200 but it takes up to a week for funds to get back to your bank.

Spookle · 21/04/2017 22:09

@HeyRoly I've started but not been able to finish tonight. I'll get it done in the morning and post tomorrow for you.

Redactio yes. I plan to try Smarkets, and Oddsmonkey instead of PA, next month. The tutorials I followed were PA and BF so it was easier to stick with those while I got my head around it.

TessTube · 21/04/2017 22:22

I was nosing about the betting groups on Facebook today and a lot of people seem angry at profit accumulator and accused the links of flagging them up as matched betters.

Is there any truth in that matched betters?

I've seen lots of people say odds monkey is better and it is cheaper so I think I'll change to that anyway just on cost alone.

Has anyone looked at the reload offers on oddsmonkey? I'm finding the forums on PA hard to navigate and I was hoping to get an easy to follow list of what offers are on once the sign ups end.

Hope you are all good, still ploughing through the sign ups really.

I'm in alone tonight so was toying with the idea of a game of bingo if I can find a good offer Grin

AmateurSwami · 21/04/2017 23:25

I'm about £25 up once bets from this eve are completed.

Called fraud team as said above, all sorted within a few mins!

TessTube · 21/04/2017 23:43

I'm amazed they haven't called me I've never placed a bet in my life before last week and there is money flying everywhere!

OverthinkingSpartacus · 22/04/2017 00:09

I've started, have placed my free coral bets, was gonna start doing more as I have float left but am going to hold back and wait for the first bets to finish.

Then use profits from those to pay for premium membership.

OverthinkingSpartacus · 22/04/2017 00:12

I haven't been following links from profit accumulated to coral etc, and have instead been manually searching as i noticed they seem to be tracked, address bar is different clicking from PA than just typing it in sonwouldnt be suprised if bet fair sees new sign ups have come straight from PA.
