Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

We have our own regularly returning bots.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Quote from Natasha: "Glad I could help"

Can you help with this?

Natasha, you stated that you had posted that you had told everyone you were renting the barn and challenged us to prove otherwise.

Natasha, you wrote a piece on your fb page on 23rd December 2015 at 2:28pm which implied that you'd turned down the opportunity to buy your council house with a £75,000 discount to move into your dream home thanks to FL. That you'd spent 18 months working every day, sacrificing time with your kids in order to "give your children a beautiful home".

True you didn't say in words that you had "bought" the barn, but you certainly implied it, judging from the comments below the post. People believed you had bought it, didn't they? Is that what you mean by "faking it till you make it?" We know, don't we, that you are not the only FL bot who implied she'd bought a beautiful majestic building and had many, many comments following her original post from people who thought she had. I remember too her brother stating on one of his youtube videos that she had "bought a castle" with the money she'd made from FL. A lie, though, wasn't it? Is that what you mean by "faking it till you make it"?

On the back of all that fakery many people were recruited into a 'business' that promised much but failed them again and again and again. Yet, they were the ones told they had failed! So angry about it, Natasha.

Do you deny posting that message. It is a long one, and very passionate.

Thanks in anticipation...

Passions run high. I'll repost, however, what MNHQ said many threads ago. (It doesn't represent all of their advice which pointed out, among other things, that the Talk Guidelines apply to all threads. (Even the long-running ones - my addition.))

Here is the part of the relevant post. You can all view it for yourselves in Thread 17 at the very beginning of April. It's by RebeccaMNHQ if I recall.

...'We want Mumsnet to be a place where conversations can be had and freedom of speech is, well, free. However, we have to adhere to our own talk guidelines, and to the law. We have asked several times that posters not mention or post up identifying information about individuals on these threads, but the practise has continued.

So we're asking you, please, again, to stop posting about individuals and stop swapping the RL details of third parties. We have received complaints of defamation, harassment of identifiable individuals and hate speech related to the owners' religious beliefs off the back of these threads, and it's important that you're aware that you may be personally legally liable for things that you post here.'...

Smile

stop barnbot doesnt seem to want to address that does she? Very Interesting that it's since been deleted...

I seem to recall people touching on MLM manipulation?

cozietoesie · 22/05/2016 21:09

Which might just be widespread? Smile

chesarasara · 22/05/2016 21:12

Mumsnet, Sunday Times, Daily Mail, Timeless Vie, Botwatch, the wonderful Eyes, numerous other blogs and Facebook pages to mention just a few of the voices speaking out against MLMs especially FL. The momentum has built up and will only grow larger, just look at those Daily Mail comments to see how many people have seen right through this 'business' model.

Zoomtothespoon · 22/05/2016 21:15

Cozie why not just leave thread policing to mumsnet HQ?

MrshumbleJeans · 22/05/2016 21:19

Agreed zoom sorry cozie I know you contribute such a lot and are trying to help, but I think its terribly distracting, MN will determine if they feel anything steps outside of the boundaries.

ForeverYazoonique · 22/05/2016 21:20

I sometimes report my own posts Grin

cozietoesie · 22/05/2016 21:24

Oh - and I should, perhaps, remind people that I don't respond to PMs on this topic. Nothing personal. Smile

noyouarenotalifestylecoach · 22/05/2016 21:25

I agree zoom. MN rarely step in, only when necessary and we already are away of the rules.

DoTheMLMHustle · 22/05/2016 21:25

What are your thoughts Natasha on the bullying that goes on. Especially the type that goes on in the 'private' FB groups?

Do you think that it's an ok thing to do, to block someone and slag them off if they're thinking of leaving FL?

CheekySmile · 22/05/2016 21:26

And MN does a fine job of monitoring these threads closely. They're on it quickly, as always, as one of Natasha's posts from the previous page has already been deleted before I had time to catch up

DoTheMLMHustle · 22/05/2016 21:27

Cozie we are allowed to talk to people who are ON THE THREAD aren't we?

BSintolerant · 22/05/2016 21:37

Botfan's had a post deleted too - MNHQ are policing this thread without any interference from us.

TruthfulTara88 · 22/05/2016 21:41

I think it's fine if you are talking to people on the thread. I don't see what the problem is...

Ok shall we move on folks, point made and we have a common agenda to tackle.

I'm loving seeing how many of my friends have shared the DM article, I bet the timelessvie likes on the FB page have jumped up now too. Grin

Thank you for posting it again. I think we've got the message.
I've seen it post up about 5 times now in the space of a posts. It's getting a bit irritating.

TruthfulTara88 · 22/05/2016 21:46

Yes thanks botfan63. A riveting read.

BSintolerant · 22/05/2016 21:48

If any lurkers read that blogpost it'll put them right off Forever Living.
