BS I was just walking the baby round the garden centre trying to convince it to sleep. Idly looking at rose names as I did. Peace, patience, etc. Then out of nowhere, sexy rexy! I snorted and immediately took a photo for you lot. No one saw me so thankfully no need to explain my weirdness!

temporaryrecruit · 12/05/2016 08:30

Haven't been part of MLM for a while. I did order products, some were excellent and I was tempted to start selling etc but I am happier away from it and I can enjoy my food again. They were too fanatical for my liking and played on your worse fears

cozietoesie · 12/05/2016 08:34

They're anticipating some.......interesting........'injunctive relief' terms likely coming the way of one of the prominent MLMs, I would guess. That would put the spotlight firmly on all MLMs and not just the one in question.

Toobusytowee · 12/05/2016 10:53

I've just been trying to get a link to the Penn and Teller video that explains about MLMs. I can see all the other episodes but not that one (called Penn and Teller Bullshit- Easy Money). I got close a few times but then a message came up from my broadband provider saying they are prevented from showing it due to a High Court order.

What's that about? How come it's just that one and not the others? It makes me think it hasn't come from Penn and Teller if we can still see all their other films. Very suspicious.

Twunk · 12/05/2016 10:58

Really? I'll see if I can see it - I'm not in the uk

Is this it?

Mrshumblepants · 12/05/2016 11:47

Ok... Sorry thats just a clip...

Mrshumblepants · 12/05/2016 12:02

I know this is not penn and teller, and I cannot be sure if it has been posted before, I am part way through this video and so far its fascinating... Well worth a watch!

BSintolerant · 12/05/2016 13:17

prettyuseful The giant cheque makers will survive. They could advertise their services to ex-bots who want to showcase their wampum refunds. That would be such a provocative thing to do!

bonjour 😂 Next time I'm in a garden centre I'll see if they sell potatoes of the 'hater' variety.

NorbertDentressangle · 12/05/2016 14:01

hahaha I've just noticed that one of our well known bots has spelled her DH's name with a double i on a fb post !!

Now is that deliberate or a typo?

Has she got something on her miind I wonder? Wink

kamchatka23 · 12/05/2016 14:17

Freudiian Sliip?

Spongebobette · 12/05/2016 14:37

Really good video MrsHumble, I watched the whole thing

Very convincing but I know that if I strapped my bot to a chair and made her watch it she's say 'oh yes there are terrible MLMs out there but mine is different, the products are amazing and they aren't sold in shops and the company really looks after us'

Spongebobette · 12/05/2016 14:41

(Which is what I believe someone on here on a thread ages ago called 'botted to the fucking eyeballs')

LeafTreeRaker · 12/05/2016 15:06

Or...

Mrshumblepants · 12/05/2016 15:46

Sadly sponge I suspect you may be right! I do hope some people watch it though, even though it is half an hour long, its eye opening! And its particularly good for anyone who is having doubts, or friends/family who want to help their bot relative/friend to see what they are getting into, although as you say, some who are too "botted" will of course dismiss it, however its still worth a try, because it may just be enough to bring a few back to reality!

Toobusytowee · 12/05/2016 16:35

Cozie, message from Eyes for you-

In the UK, the legal situation could not be more straightforward.

The only effective legislation which should be rigorously applied to 'MLM' racketeering in Britain, is the fraud Act 2006. This makes it a criminal offence to withhold key-information in order to take someone's money. No 'MLM' front company has ever declared the true overall results of its so called 'income opportunity,' because, if it did, no one (in his/her right mind) would want to sign up. All UK registered 'MLM' front-companies have been driving a coach and horses through the Fraud Act which no one has even tried to enforce. This shameful situation has been an open invitation for 'MLM' racketeers to come to the UK and that's exactly what they have done

In the UK, the Trading Schemes Act of 1996, makes it a criminal offence to run a trading scheme which requires a joining fee to be paid. The Trading Schemes Regulations forbid the sponsors of any trading scheme from taking more than £200 from any contractee during the first 7 days of their participation, but only in the form of the purchase of goods and services. Almost all UK registered MLM front-companies have been blatantly taking illegal sign up fees, because again no one has been enforcing the law. Various UK registered 'MLM' front companies have pretended that the £200 cap applies to sign-up fees, but this is a complete fabrication.

Mrshumblepants · 12/05/2016 16:55

Nice to see higher level bots enjoying luxury spa days on the back of the fruitless efforts of those at the bottom of the 3dimensional triangle...

I'll bet the minions downlines are currently running around like headless chickens, trying to sell more wampum to meet the new cc requirements and keep new recruits interested whilst bots chillax in the spa...

Prosecco anyone?

kamchatka23 · 12/05/2016 17:01

My Ariix bots have been unbearable sine the big weekend event. It's been a constant parade of inspirational memes with quotes from people like Steve Jobs that I'm pretty sure he never said, eeeeking, and some videos where they talk about how terrible it is for the poor people who have jobs, a load of guff about helping people and of course, The Opportunity. Both of them made a big thing about filming the video at the top of the stairs, I think that must be some hidden message implying they're at the 'top' of something.

Spongebobette · 12/05/2016 17:19

Kam it's really sad, looks like they flew over the top US operators and worked up the audience into a frenzy, poor gullible people who believe that can make a fortune. Heartbreaking.

Mrshumblepants · 12/05/2016 17:28

Is there a vid link to that event kam?

kamchatka23 · 12/05/2016 17:37

Ariix still seem to be doing this weird secret thing where none of their bots ever mention the name of the company or the products, but if you search for#TheOpportunityCompany on Facebook lots of bots statues will come up.

Mrshumblepants · 12/05/2016 17:39

Yeah, its all a bit enigmatic isnt it? Totally deliberate of course, it builds the idea in bots minds that they are V.I.P's that have stumbled across something uber special...

Yawn...

BSintolerant · 12/05/2016 17:41

The scam which dare not speak its name.

Twunk · 12/05/2016 17:50
