Wow what a load of bullshit Twat (may I call you twat? Grin

No they're not the same. At all.

Nolongerconfused · 08/05/2016 09:52

That did the rounds previously on Bot pages. There's a video now re surfacing again called "arghhhh not another pyramid scam" same kind of thing as that post

I don't think I would be allowed to put the link to it here?

TwatbadgingCuntfuckery · 08/05/2016 09:53

Haha I'm not bothered what I'm called. Finding it very funny on other threads no one is addressing me at all Grin thought I was being nice giving everyone a legitimate reason to call someone a twat 😂😂

I agree. The Juice plus stuff seems to have more airy fairy bollocks around it whereas forever tends to go for the more straight forward bollocks.

cozietoesie · 08/05/2016 09:56

The behaviour may seek to persuade others to an organisation as its most obvious function but it also acts as further reinforcement for the adherent themselves.

So when you're feeling shaky and are 'advised' that you just need to 'get out there and recruit', you're re-reading all these things that you subsequently send. Wink

Invidious stuff.

CheekySmile · 08/05/2016 10:00

I don't think I've ever rushed to Waterstones in my life...

temporaryrecruit · 08/05/2016 10:07

Name changed for this. I tried out some products from one company. I looked great and I liked them but I think they gave me problems with my digestion. I have had about 3 lots of severe pains since January so the doctor advised me to not use the products.

It could be a coincidence that my problems started. I would like to use the products as I did tone up. The people were lovely but tbh it is great to enjoy my food again and it all got very ltd. the products are expensive no doubt. Also the exercise sessions were too difficult and I ended up with injuries.

cozietoesie · 08/05/2016 10:19

There's a thing about many products and not just wampum. If you pay good money for them, or are eg involved in a test, you're more motivated to use them regularly/rigorously. (Just think of expensive advertised skin creams and how people might benefit from even the 'cheapo' stuff if they used it - say - daily.)

I often wonder how people would be if they eg did that/did exercises/ate well quite independently of anything else. Smile

cozietoesie · 08/05/2016 10:43

Oh - and welcome under the new name, temporary. Smile

Twunk · 08/05/2016 10:50

The placebo effect is incredible, and has strong correlations with expense of the product. Expensive means 1) it must be better and 2) you've made a greater investment in it, so are more determined for it to work. It's fascinating.

cozietoesie · 08/05/2016 10:51

Oh Yes.

temporaryrecruit · 08/05/2016 10:57

ThanksSmile

TwatbadgingCuntfuckery · 08/05/2016 12:23

Placebo effect is interesting and there is some merit with some conditions to using placebos because the positive effect far outweighs the negatives that can/do come without treatment or inappropriate treatments with nasty side effects.

It's like Bach rescue remedy. (This is not an endorsement. I think it's bollocks personally) It's just water but if it honestly helps people feel calm and in control then that's ok. Imo. The realtive cost of it is small compared to the benefits some people get from it. (not talking about those with anxiety disorders but those with temporary anxiety around certain events, presentations, public speaking etc)

The problems come because these brands have an ingrained culture of bullshit and selling snake oil. It's not a case of 'it may work but if it doesn't here's a refund' it's 'it will work but it will only work if you by X,Y and Z. Take them regularly for the next 3 months and ta da! You'll be cured!'

Homeopathy is bollocks. Aloe as a cure all is bollocks. Fruit in capsule form is bollocks.

Herbal medicine - using actual herbs not water with 'memory' Wink backed up with scientific research that can be shown be unbiased is beneficial but only under medical supervision.

cozietoesie · 08/05/2016 12:36

I'm reminded of all those really awful 'changing a lightbulb' jokes.

There's one famous one - usually an ender of that conversation - which goes something like:

Q. How many psychiatrists does it take to change a lightbulb?

A. Only one - but that lightbulb has really got to want to change.

stopfaffing · 08/05/2016 14:15

Twat Wink, that list of "I'm not a salesperson" bollocks is interesting. Here's my interpretation:-

  1. I don't drink coke no matter what name is on it.
  1. I have had loads of nice meals in restaurants, however joining (for example) a "restaurant MLM" would mean that I would have to post about Amazing Yummy Food even if I didn't like it or it was overpriced, just to persuade my friends and family to visit the restaurant. In other words, I would have to lie and deceive people who like, love and trust me ...Hmm.
  1. I read a lot of books but this example would cause me to have to recommend to my friends and family books I didn't like reading like 5- Shades of Grey which I only managed 3 chapters off before losing the will to live, absolutely fucking awful shite. Why would I make my friends and family buy it to read ffs?
  1. Again, I go to see a movie, if I like it I might post something on fb. However, can you imagine watching a dire film and having to say to everyone "it was wonderful, go see it!" Doesn't say much for your judgement, does it?
  1. Never done this but again, what if it wasn't really a good deal? (MLM products are very overpriced and you can get cheaper and better on the open market) You would be forced to lie and deceive people who love and like and trust you...

Post this on your JP's page, Twat Grin.

cozietoesie · 08/05/2016 14:29

But you're free, stopfaffing. Smile

TwatbadgingCuntfuckery · 08/05/2016 14:55

see, I'm thinking TV could do something with those paid for (promoted) ads and dissect them in a highly amusing manner.

I had a lot of fun way back when with contextual studies dissecting ads.

I remember with scented loo roll I titled my 'piece' ( we had to dissect an ad and write an essay on it) 'but my arse doesn't have nose'. I still don't get the point of scented loo roll

My point. Not everyone can read between the lines of advertising or truly understand what they are being sold. Be it in picture form or the more wordy types.

CamelsAndMaus · 08/05/2016 16:28

Two new bots today - it really is endemic here :( I'm trying my best to stop anyone else from signing up and educating people.

C.A.M

BSintolerant · 08/05/2016 17:05

twat 'but my arse doesn't have a nose.' 😂😂 I share your puzzlement.

Did you submit your piece on scented loo roll? I would have written it on the tissue itself and handed it in on the roll. It would have put off my tutor from doing his marking on the train. Wink

Imagine writing a piece on flavoured condoms called, "My dick doesn't eat strawberries."

Twunk · 08/05/2016 18:44

LeafTreeRaker · 08/05/2016 18:55

Welcome temporary recruit. Something tells me you were drinking Aloe gelly, which is clinically proven to make one shit. I have mild digestive issues, and for that reason I won't go near it as I don't need any help to achieve said result...

There are some temporary diets out there which supposedly help 'reset' the natural balance of our intestines. A colleague of mind has just done it as she was suffering following multiple courses of antibiotics, and it appears to have helped her. May be worth looking in to?
