Emma, thanks for your reply about the MLMs you were involved in, much appreciated.
Herbalife - you are well out of that one, it is currently being investigated in the USA and a film has just been released about its victims and business practices. I am sure there is a link to it somewhere on this thread actually. Oriflame, I don't know much about that one, but it is to do with candles isn't it? A bit of a niche market.
Betterware - a couple in my street have been doing this for years. They have a network of reps and receive products every Thursday from a big lorry (which has to park half on the pavement so I can get my car out). They have NEVER talked to me about their business (we chat about other things) and they are more about direct selling to customers rather than enrolling customers/sellers iyswim.
Younique? Mmmm, your complaints are justified and sadly this is one of the MLM companies that we are campaigning about due to their business practices.
I find it interesting that you think we are wrong to shine a light on MLM companies. It is precisely due to the reasons you (and many others) have left the company that we became aware of the exploitative nature of MLMs and the fact that they often target women who have childcare issues but need to work.
I think you will find we are all on the same side (in many respects) Emma. We just want these companies to market themselves to prospective reps honestly regarding the hours and commitment needed, the financial outlay needed and the income to be generated.
