They can't slag it off, though. ShockI thought 'knocking copy' wasn't allowed in MLMdom?

throwingpebbles · 04/03/2016 18:29

One thing I don't get is how easily they are convinced that something that to me is quite clearly "bad" is actually a good feature of the MLM

For instance, every FL bot I have come across enthusiastically holds forth about how it is an "asset rich company". They seem oblivious to the fact (which screamed out at me) that this is actually "bad news" for someone who wants to work for them, as it plainly says that FL creams off the majority of the profits and just throws the distributors some scraps of cash. If I was every going to go with a direct selling job I would want to see myself taking a very decent slice of the profits for my hard work and the risks involved

cozietoesie · 04/03/2016 18:32

'hard work' ? 'risks' ?

Go wash your mouth out for that 'negativity', throwing.

I now have a Nu Skin bot thanks to a friend liking one of their posts and it showing up in my feed.

A nosey round her page showed some artwork by her kids.

A friend recently got conned into joining a 'business introductions' group. For £1000 Shock you got the opportunity to go along to a monthly meeting, so long as you brought 3 people along with you. They also ran semimars where for £50 a go you could listen to the area franchise holder waffle on for 2 hours. He got chucked out because he dared to ask what happened to the money. They exhibited the same cultush behaviour of not accepting any negativity, false promises (people would make 3 times there money back within the year) etc.

(And I never really get these business groups anyway. Strikes me as full of salespeople all trying to sell to each other.)

cozietoesie · 04/03/2016 18:46

Those poor children.

cynicbuthappy · 04/03/2016 19:01

I'm still really confused about the 4cc thing.
For example; if you were just selling and had a regular set of customers that allowed you to do 4cc a month, wouldn't the 1cc you have to use as "personal use" pretty much wipe out the profit you'd make from selling at RRP?
Not to mention the other costs involved in the scam business?

Eyespying · 04/03/2016 19:04

whatsthatcomingoverthehill The 'MLM' phenomenon first began to infect the UK in 1972. Since that time, millions of UK citizens are known to have been churned through numerous UK registered 'MLM' front-companies. Yet during these 40 odd years (as far as I'm aware), not one investigative journalist has had the gumption to turn up at an 'MLM' mass rally at a UK venue, and ask excited Bots this simple question:

Where do you suppose all the millions of pounds of accumulated profits from these regular events have been going?

Toobusytowee · 04/03/2016 19:11

Cynicbuthappy, the 1cc of personal use means that 1cc has to go through the bot's account. If they were able to sell 4cc, they wouldn't have to buy more. But in reality not many people can sell more than 1cc so they top it up and themselves and justify it as using it for themselves.

Patzy85 · 04/03/2016 19:13

Cynic - completely, this is what I don't understand either. 4 CC would make you roughly £200, if you took out the cost of even just the aloe gel x2 (one months worth, which you HAVE to use as the flagship product) and don't buy anything else you only have £160, by the time you take off petrol costs, success days, sizzles, weekly business presentations, website subscription, stationary and literature, samples, PUPP refills, not to mention the subtle costs of lurking in places like coffee shops and playgroups you would be left with little to nothing.

Obviously they're asked to only buy FL products but according to a high up bot who recently visited and loves barns, she doesn't spend anywhere near the 1CC that is expected.

Maybe even she can't afford too Hmm

Toobusytowee · 04/03/2016 19:13

Eyes, all that money couldn't possibly be going to someone at the top of the pyramid and making them rich could it? We all know that bots look down on people who work and help their bosses get rich.

cynicbuthappy · 04/03/2016 19:21

My bot has a 4cc level 3 pin. I'm guessing I'm right when I think they're probably losing money, as I don't believe she has that many customers.
I know that she doesn't always sell at RRP anyway.
Smoke and mirrors and bullshit.

cozietoesie · 04/03/2016 19:33

Toobusy

Well it ain't evaporating, that's for sure.

Exactly eyes !!!

Eyespying · 04/03/2016 19:39

Toobusytowee Yes, in their reality-inverting world, Bots look down on people who actually get paid for honest work, but they look up to people who steal from them.

It's not taken long for everyone here to realise that Bots couldn't possibly give any correct answers to journalists regarding such matters as where all their cash goes, because correct answers have to be placed in that bag, along with 'negative' friends and relatives, and stamped on.

diamondgirlie · 04/03/2016 19:47

bumped into 3 ex fl victims of barnbot this last week !! and WOW not a good word to say about her or the bullyish tactics to get them to sign up !! all felt under pressure - and are happy to have had a "lightbulb" moment!! I have directed them to this site in hope they will read and see how other "normal" people view MLM's in general - and especially fl !! all are fairly young girls, all with small children and families, they believe they were exploited !! I couldn't have agreed more !! they all said NO, but after saying NO were told they could pay weekly and the box would be bought for them - it seems this is the only way they are getting new recruits victims !! can this type of activity be reported to some kind of authority or fl's HQ ?? Does anyone know if this is against their company procedures/policy??

throwingpebbles · 04/03/2016 19:50

diamond you could send them to have a look at www.facebook.com/timelessvie and www.facebook.com/liestopper as well

diamondgirlie · 04/03/2016 20:02

have done that also throwing - I hope they have a look at the pages even if they don't "like" the sites because they will be in fear of their upline and other cult members of fl seeing them on other negative pages!!

cozietoesie · 04/03/2016 20:07

If they're ex-MLM then they don't have that to fear anymore though, surely? Are they still under some sort of influence?

Teddy1970 · 04/03/2016 20:19

I watched the JL vids for a few minutes and had to switch off, I've met a few women like her over the years (not MLM) patronising and treating everyone like they're a simpleton, who the hell in their right mind would want to join her team? She is one unpleasant woman.

Toobusytowee · 04/03/2016 20:24

Some ex-downlines of barnbot have come forward to Bot Watch and evidence will soon be coming this way I hope. Some interesting stories being told. Not nice ones.

sminkypink · 04/03/2016 20:36

Yep, the uberbots make me so angry, I'm going to steal all of their unicorns.

BSintolerant · 04/03/2016 20:56

sminky be careful with the unicorns. They metamorphose into gremlins if they come into contact with aloe gel. Wink

Patzy85 · 04/03/2016 20:57

Toobusy - I feel with this kind of evidence coming forward these up lines won't have a leg to stand on. They will be very concerned!

They will most likely be focusing on damage limitation. Lots of ex bots feel that they were exploited and dragged along for the ride. It certainly doesn't sound as fun as they try to make it look - not that it looks fun anyway!
