Precisely. Grin

cozietoesie · 04/03/2016 14:50

Well done, throwing. I'd even consider posting further links. The more people who go to TV and these threads the better.

throwingpebbles · 04/03/2016 14:56

On another note - eyes !!!! I've just spotted the perfect career opportunity for you!!!

toobusy this is what is used in the business presentations. Funnily enough, I've been having a look and can't seem to find anything that backs it up? I'll keep looking......

Toobusytowee · 04/03/2016 16:00

Thanks rayofhope. It looks like MLMs can make up any figures they want because the bots won't look any deeper than the nice chart they are fed. They have no reason to disbelieve it.

cozietoesie · 04/03/2016 16:03

I think it's almost more than that. They have every reason to actually believe it. In fact they must believe it. (If they're to keep going that is.)

throwingpebbles · 04/03/2016 16:03

eyes 😂😂😂😂

That would certainly be a more satisfying existence than flogging Nu Skin gloop

Toobusytowee · 04/03/2016 16:07

I think you're right cozie. If they believe their MLM is really rich, it must be doing well, more wealth to spread around. They have chosen a successful company so they will be successful too. It'll give them more confidence and make them sound more convincing themselves.

darceybussell · 04/03/2016 16:13

Even their made up numbers don't add up. £2.6bn turnover and 10 million distributors. To put that into context, my employer has £2bn turnover and employs 17,000 people.

sminkypink · 04/03/2016 16:28

They will show you lots of charts like that, won't they? Kind of irrelevant facts. All to distract you from the stats that you ought to be shown.
and if anyone else shares that.
You're right, the numbers don't add up, I mean an mlm six figure earner, how many in their downline? Didn't one of the bots say she had 6000? I think my bruv (same income) has about 30 people working for him, therefore corporate culture is hardly the pyramid scheme they love to claim that it is.
I knew a few six figure income earning sales reps (from when I was in the sports trade). We'd have about ten salesmen in the salesforce for the UK, half would be self employed agents, the other half would be employees. There would be no downline, they had no one at all reporting to them, they would just be out, you know, selling product. Not recruiting. Yes they got the 'free holidays' too. They were called international conferences. We were under no illusion that we were going on holiday, we would be working. Yes, there would be days off and a pool. But you didn't have to 'qualify' by selling a certain amount, the entire sales force would be expected to go. Because corporate culture is not a pyramid scheme.

Eyespying · 04/03/2016 16:29

'FLP' doesn't record, and consequently doesn't publish, what its never-ending chain of transient, non-salaried commission agents actually manage to sell the general public for a profit.

What these apparently-impressive figures actually represent, even though they are almost certainly inflated by the inclusion of the theoretical 'retail price', is the total ammount being given to the 'FLP' front companies around the world by their contractees, but based on their false-expectation of future reward.

Patzy85 · 04/03/2016 16:34

That thread squeegy is how I think a lot of mums feel after being targeted at groups/coffee mornings/out with their children.

It really isn't fair that people are out in these uncomfortable positions.

sminkypink · 04/03/2016 16:35

and I would love to show a commercial merchandiser an mlm scheme, they would piss themselves laughing.
Buyers make the selection from the salesman, it's then the merchandisers job to forecast/work out how much 'cover' you'll need for the season, figuring out stuff such as how much stock you are likely to need for each week of retailing for that season and what you might be left with by the time you go on sale and how much to discount by to maximise your income. Then place an order accordingly. Too much stock will destroy your business. In real business, stock is risk.
These bots stockpiling to meet their cc's , they might have several years 'cover' with that amount. It would give a commercial merchandiser sleepless nights. And they call themselves business mentors?

sminkypink · 04/03/2016 16:42

I'd also love to know what percentage of the stock they sell is the 'business in a box' I'd wager it's most of it.

Patzy85 · 04/03/2016 16:48

I don't understand how they can really make any real money from retailing.

Anyone know how much you have to buy to qualify for the wholesale price?

Eyespying · 04/03/2016 16:48

sminkypink Surely, facing the reality that no stock is actually required per week for the purpose of retailing, because no one other than FL Bots (falsely believing that regualar self-consumption is part of a proven plan) wants to buy it, is a negative Gremlin thought' which must be put in that little bag and stamped on.

sminkypink · 04/03/2016 16:51

Yes, exactly, eye because it's not actually a business is it?

Eyespying · 04/03/2016 17:02

sminkypink This is the perfect inversion of reality and almost the perfect crime.

Q. When is pyramid scheme not a pyramid scheme?

A. When it's part of a cultic racket, because then it can only ever be what your cult's leaders tell you it is.

SqueegyBeckinheim · 04/03/2016 17:03

Thanks guys for posting on that thread. I dip in and out of these threads but I don't have the depth of knowledge some of you do, and I didn't want to get the facts wrong.

I suspect the situation the op found herself in is repeated up and down the country daily. Unless you have first hand experience of mlms or have been on these threads then it's impossible to know what you're up against. Who would think that an encounter like that would lead to being put on a data list? Before reading these threads and the timeless vie pages I'd have thought simply saying no would be enough.

rayofhope · 04/03/2016 17:19

Was going to say the same as eyes They've based the $2.6 billion on the retail price but every rep buys it at wholesale 35%-48% off retail.

And we know most of them are their best customer as thats what we're trained to be, and how many of them, who actually have customers charge the retail price?

patzy you qualify for wholesale by buying the business in a box for £199.75 or if you become a new distributor (NDP) with 15% off, if you do 2cc over 2 months you will qualify for wholesale. To get NDP you have to spend a min of £100 on your first order or buy a C9

bossbabebot · 04/03/2016 17:35

.......sigh.......sigh......god I miss the visiting bots....... I wonder if they are still out there, watching, waiting - reading books now which is so amazing as they haven't read books before!!!

cozietoesie · 04/03/2016 18:21

I rather think they'll be test smiling, smiling, smiling ready for the next picture. I have tried hard to imagine what they think of in the shower but I'm sure that they still do it with that dreadful rictus. I imagine they have it in their sleep even.
