BTW - When I've tried to put common-sense questions to certain 'WSJ' journalists in the past, about the 'MLM' phenomenon, they refuse to answer. I got exactly the same dead-bat response at News Corp. HQ. In fact, it's just like trying to have a dialogue with 'MLM' shill Bots. In my experience, when it comes to 'MLM,' no one at the WSJ passes the Turing Test.

cozietoesie · 27/02/2016 09:24

Then why not let them drift in the shallow waters for a time? Smile

Eyespying · 27/02/2016 09:25

cozietoesie 'MLM' BS like this has always made me even more determined. I've got a feeling it has exactly the same effect on MN members.

How dare these lying American bastards do this?

FLhahaha · 27/02/2016 09:33

That Downs one is awful! Anyway we can get hold of any more information about it? Could botwatch pay a visit? Or perhaps screenshot, printout, and send to 'Compliance Officer' at a JP address, copied to the ASA?

I have tried to find a UK JP manual (where presumably they should be told not to do this sort of thing) but no luck.

rayofhope · 27/02/2016 09:34

Gosh hadn't read the DS one, that's terrible, my comment before was about eating the big fry up but it's fine because they had the boosters

cozietoesie · 27/02/2016 09:34

I'm most concerned at the moment about the effect on those poor individuals who are ensnared I have to say. The content of most of Cubic's posts has appalled me.

cozietoesie · 27/02/2016 09:36

Yes - that Downs one is dreadful. I wonder what reaction the national association would have to it?

acatcalledjohn · 27/02/2016 09:44

I love that second screen dump of the full English. Take the JP pill and ooooooooh, magic!

rayofhope · 27/02/2016 10:05

Might have been posted before? But came across this guy this morning

ethanvanderbuilt.com He talks about a lot of different companies here

And here's the one for FL

Thanks ray.

What is it with the control over the image of the main bots. Carbon cut outs of each other regardless of scheme. I know we've discussed the image of fembots before but the same rules seem to apply with manbots.
The JP guy in Birmingham is the perfect example. I wouldn't buy a raffle ticket off this guy

JP dude tweeted about a talk by Dr Mitra Ray. I decided to google her and she is JP through and through.

http://juiceplusresearch.blogspot.co.uk/20070602_archive.html?m=1

The highlight is this quote:

When Juice Plus first came out I thought it was more important than the discovery of antibiotics, and I still stand by that statement today.

ambler21 · 27/02/2016 10:50

Well Dr. Ray sure is an interesting character. I was always taught that scientific evidence, when quoted, should be clearly referenced and transparent.

Try following point 4 for starters - Is juice plus supported by clinical research?
Clear as mud...? I'm sure Toobusy would like a look.

Toobusytowee · 27/02/2016 11:12

Yes, JP seem to be quite bad don't they? I was sent this yesterday. Unfortunately the bot concerned has made her page so that no one can comment on it.

I will have a look at those links up thread later and see what I can do. In other news, the prolific FL health claims woman has removed her very dodgy posts. Two days after the MHRA told me they were investigating her. I am putting together a post that outlines what people can and can't say, what rules there are, and who to complain to.

chuckingstones · 27/02/2016 12:05

Nice one Toobusy, good to see more authoritative measures happening. Shame we can't get one of those petitions going with enough supporters to get it heard in Parliament...

Well at least the Vietnamese authorities are doing something to put a stop to certain home-grown 'MLM' rackets, but mysteriously, all the worst US-based offenders are still infesting Asia.

Eyespying · 27/02/2016 12:28

Meanwhile the 'FLP UK' Ministry of Truth as been hard at (its predictable) work.

Notice how this 'MLM' BS has been maliciously designed to occult key-information i.e. what percentage of 'FLP UK's' claimed '£120 millions annual sales' have been lawful retail sales to members of the general public (based on value and demand) rather than losing investment payments made by a never-ending chain of ill-informed 'FLP' adherents (based on the false expectation of future reward), but laundered as 'sales'.

So just had another look on fb at one of the hastags.

Look at this one, talking about a free study JP do for children. This person has also worded it, that it sounds like JP cured this little boys blindness.

On a sidenote a quick Google shows it's not a free study, you have to sign up to JP for a year yourself to get the kids but free!!

Hardly going to give unbiased results in the child study is it, when everyone who puts their child in it, now has a vested interested in the company (wonder if t&c'sprevebt you badmouthing them)

Thinking of these spurious health improvement claims - that one about Downs was particularly awful but they're all bad - maybe someone should start a gentle thread (or two) on the relevant board (s) in MN, just alerting people ? MN is a place people might come to for succour and I would hate to think of people being given false hope in any way. They surely deserve to know that there might be a difficulty with such claims.

The JP child health study is ridiculous! Surely how often the child goes for fast food is dependant upon the parents?! Also, saying their self esteem has improved because of it? At the bottom it also mentions about them taking part in informal hobbies such as stamp collecting? Utter drivel! Angry
