I may have missed a few posts and maybe this has been discussed but Vego you mentioned that you work 15-19 hours a day. I am barely awake for 19 hours a day. I don't understand how you can work this many hours per day, not be a top earner and not realise you are being exploited and truly think this is a positive experience. Do you know how much you earn per hour? is there any time when you are awake that you are not working?

What eyes means by that is that she started turning on us. I mean, just answer the questions already!

don't get why eye's post was deleted?

lastuseraccount123 · 19/02/2016 16:55

neither.

but, anyway, i think the point he was trying to make was that vego seemed to be trying to turn the argument back on us by implying we are being hypocrites for going after MLMs when we aren't perfect either. At least I think that's what he meant.

Obviously none of us are perfect on this thread. We all suck in our own unique ways. That's not really the point though.

GreenGoblin0 I think I know why my post was reported - because it highlighted an important truth about the common cult techinque of attacking rather than defending - but I certainly don't know on what grounds it could have been deleted.

Yeah, I'm not sure why eyes comment was deleted. He was making a pretty valid observation

I guess it's operation 'take my ball home' Wondrous to try and show how mean we all are. Fwiw I think people were polite in their enquiries.

stopfaffing · 19/02/2016 17:30

Oh! Wonderous, that must have just happened because I read them all a few moments ago .

I must admit, I was quite reassured gobsmacked when Vego explained that most people doing MLMs only do it for beer money and company, I had thought they had signed up to make loads of money working for themselves for 10-15 hours a week. Hmm

Eyespying · 19/02/2016 17:31

WonderousStories You're right, Vegodoll's posts have been deleted at his/her own request. Too much attention was evidently being drawn to the 'NuSkin' racket on these threads, and the 'NuSkin' Ministry of Truth must have been alerted.

GreenGoblin0 · 19/02/2016 17:42

I know she said she didn't want sympathy but I do feel sorry for Vegodoll. she was brave to come forward and braver to try to put across what a positive experience she had from her mlm company however it was clear from her posts that she is in deep. she mentioned that she started out when she was desparate, not sleeping and a single mum. She freely admitted that she is not a top earner and yet works every waking hour on her business, even working whilst at the dinner table with her children. Any sensible person from the outside can see that this is exploitation, not healthy, not flexible working, not family friendly. I hope Vegodoll has friends in real life she can turn to when she realises.

Eyespying · 19/02/2016 17:46

GreenGoblin0 I got the same impression about Vegodoll. It strikes me that this was the 'NuSkin' Emma Cooper, or will that valid observation be deleted?

I did actually believe her, I think she has at least tried to go about it in an honest way and has gone hard at it until she got high enough up to make some money. But I'm not sure about having over 5,000 people downline who all don't want to earn money. Surely some of them do!

And I also had a look on Instagram at the it works bot that vego mentioned who includes the income disclosure on every recruitment post. I'm afraid I didn't find any income disclosures, but maybe I was looking in the wrong place.

I'd like to follow her on Instagram, sounds fascinating!

Is it a bit like those people who were Instagram stars and then came out in the media and admitted it was all fake, they took 400 selfies to get the right one, they starved themselves etc etc?

FWIW there is a lot of grey in this area.

I can think people are being disingenuous, but still believe they are victims too. It's ambiguous, it's complicated, it's not straight forward, but it helps me to look at actions (what they actually do/say) rather than what they say they say, if that makes sense.

If these people are deep in the MLM, they have had mindset training up the wazoo so we're also dealing with that..manipulation, I guess you could call it?

This is not black and white...some MLM people want us to be 'us and them', and think in black/white ways, because that's the way they are taught to htink (there's the 'haters' (i.e. us) vs the positive people who are part of their MLM). But we don't have to buy into that. It's okay to say that we both distrust people from MLMs and want to help them. It's necessary, even,, to have that boundary, for self-protection.

hope that made sense
