AndrastesKnickerweasels welcome! If you've just fallen out of a tree in Australia are you some kind of drop bear? Wink

Has your friend been roped into Lyoness? I seem to recall something about that infecting your part of the world.

crazycatlady26 · 12/02/2016 01:54

hi Melaw Smile good to be here amongst sensible people!

dreamiesrcatgak · 12/02/2016 02:32

Hello, I've been reading and lurking for a while too! A girl on my Facebook has recently (4 months maybe?) been banging on solidly about some 'fat drops' and '38 superfoods drops' They will cure my long time diagnosed auto immune disease apparently.
The weird thing is there's been no company name in all this time. The Opportunity Company has been mentioned a few times but surely that can't be the actual name its crap!! Whenever she takes a photo of the product her fingers are covering the name of it.
She's been promoted once already and is still trying to recruit more people. Quite blatant in asking in her status if anyone has mlm experience as she would love experienced mlm staff to "make this business the most amazing thing I have ever done"
They all had a big conference tonight from the looks of it. I feel for her as she is actually a nice normal girl, but they have got her like she's brain washed the utter garbage she's spouting. Utterly cringey stuff. Boss babe and all that carry on. Yuk. What I don't understand is why the name is secret?

Toobusytowee · 12/02/2016 03:06

Dreamies, the company is Ariix. It is also known as the opportunity company, presumably because the 'opportunity' is more important than the actual product. The drink is a fruit juice. It won't cure anything. Except a thirst for a fruit juice.

This MLM is not triangular. It has an infinite width and an infinite height. Times two because you can join it twice.

AbolishFlobots · 12/02/2016 03:29

I'm afraid, Patzy, that gaining IIP recognition is actually a walk in the park, particularly where you can control and influence your workforce - where it becomes a leisurely amble. I'd pretty well disregard that with any company

I disagree with this. IIP standard level has something like 39 evidence criteria to meet and the assessor speaks with the staff, management and Directors as well as reviewing evidence of good people management processes like appraisals, employee forum groups, communication mechanisms etc. You can't just influence staff unless the assessor has been paid off or is a FL bot themselves

If the FL HQ has a small amount of staff, the process may well be easier than what our company went through (250 staff, 3 day assessment).

AndrastesKnickerweasels · 12/02/2016 04:26

BS

Oh, crap, you got me! I'm a drop bear.

I honestly have no idea if it's Lyoness or not Confused she's not the kind to keep anything to herself (even if I wish she sometimes would). She was up in G-town last weekend for a "positive, amazing" Member Development Session...G-town's at least, what, 400km away.

Baffling.

Kathysclown · 12/02/2016 06:11

Yes, Knickerweazels, I have heard of Jamberry. It hasn't made it to the UK yet (I think) but I live abroad and know a lot of women from the U.S. (But I am not in the States) and lots of them are into MLMs, including Jamberry. To be honest, before I had any clue about MLMs, I did hold an online Jamberry party for one of my friends who was a seller, it went well and I got loads of free product. And I really like them, use them regularly (I now feel like I shouldn't like them, but I do!) And my friend never tried to sign me up as part of her team, I don't think she has one, she just sells the products now and again as a bit of a hobby I think....... So, I put Jamberry in the group of 'MLM but not a nasty one'!!

Another one that is very popular is 'Thirty One' which sells all kinds of bags and storage - I have been to a few parties for that and have never stopped being bombarded with emails about it, but only about buying the products, not signing up. That one clearly has some kind of religious backing, I am guessing the trail would
lead back to Utah......

There is also another one that I can't remember the name of, but sells charms that fit in a leather bracelet, also very popular and clearly an MLm. Also Tupperware is still popular!!

All of the above will be heading to the UK sooner or later I am sure........

Windy0urneckin · 12/02/2016 06:32

Check out the glamour of that conference room. Definitely a VIP lifestyle to aspire to... Hmm
Also, it seems they aren't above stealing slogans from registered trademarks...

No, I didn't know that, because it isn't true. TV should make some wildly unsupported claims and invented statistics too!

I'm interested in that stall at the conference. Has forever put the stall on or has someone higher up bought all that forever branded stuff, books etc. to put the stall on?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 12/02/2016 07:36

Another long time lurker here, de-lurking to say I think IIP is a crock of shite, I once worked for a large company where the culture was one of backstabbing and blame, we most definitely did not feel invested in, but because they ticked all the boxes with regards to apraisals etc and made it clear what we were to say to the assessors they sailed through it year after year. A management lackey sat in on all the sessions to "facilitate" report back on anyone who didn't toe the company line.

Not much experience of MLMs here, I only know 2 people who do it and they have managed to stay perfectly normal, nothing on FB, never try to recruit friends, so these threads are quite an eye-opener for me.

Members of our local "Streetlife" board had a privileged introduction to a challenging opportunity: (identifying details redacted)

"Is anyone in the QQQQ area or surrounding looking for a flexible work from home opportunity?

I m a mum of two currently on maternity leave living in QQQQ.
I'm finding my maternity pay not great and struggling every month with lack of money.... Sound familiar??

So in January I decided to start my own business, I was very excited but at the same time I was also very scared and sceptical as I could not see how I could earn an amazing income but also be home with my family.

I was open minded to have a look and I was really prepared to work hard to give my family the life they deserved and be the mummy that I always wanted to be.

So fast forward just one month of working my business and I am really enjoying it and making lots of plans to make the business grow. I am pleased to say this opportunity is changing my life and I will soon be in the position to be that mummy at home with my babies. I work my business around my family and never miss the special moments with them.

I am looking for open minded people to coach and mentor that are serious about changing there lives, you could be looking for a career change, reducing your hours or a top up income to pay for a wedding, holiday, shopping trip......

Full support and training is given, so no experience is needed but all I ask is your:

Hard working
Do not want something for nothing
Self motivated
Want a better life that you deserve
Coachable

If you can say YES to all of the above then I would love to speak to you.

Please comment below or message me if your genuinely interested please.

my reply:

Nor is it site for pushing MLM scams. The OP is, as usual, cagey on this "opportunity". Sounds like Forever Living, (am I right?)

A great parody of MLM frauds is Timeless VIE timelessvie.wordpress.com/

In fact Streetlife has just deleted the whole thread! "Your comment was a response to another post that has now been removed from this conversation. We are deleting all subsequent comments that are now out of context."

foragogogo I don't know about 'MLM' busting, but I have been observing, writing, and complaining (loudly), about the 'MLM' cult phenomenon since the 1990s when members of family fell under the influence of the 'Amway' fairy story and tried to cheat and destroy 'help me achieve total financial freedom'.

My brother underwent the sudden radical personality transformation and became a jargon spouting Ambot. At first, I was bemused, but I didn't realise the true level of danger I was in, because (short of hitting him on the head with a heavy object) there was no escape from dealing with Ambot brother or his unseen 'Amway' handlers. When I finally discovered how 'MLM' cults function, by gathering confidential information about adherents and their families (particularly their finances) in order to rob them and prevent them complaining, I decided to produce a comprehensive deconstruction of the 'MLM' cult phenomen in the hope that it would go a long way to stopping it.

Did he ever come back out, Eye ?

foragogogo · 12/02/2016 09:23

Thanks for the reminder eye. What is the situation with your family now? (Will look on your blog when not at work). Do you feel.like you ever got anywhere with your attempts at exposing them as cults? Do you think TV and these threads could be another shot at it?

Annie65 · 12/02/2016 09:32

Sick of seeing these grinning imbeciles with their big cheques at these success days, can any1 tell me if these cheques are all theirs, or are they to be shared out amongst the rest of the team?

cozietoesie · 12/02/2016 09:46

Who can tell what they represent, Annie. (If they're even real.) You'll see the real - and sad - figures for most people noted in various posts on this board and other places. For myself, I'd rather have a look at their VAT and Revenue returns.

If they make them. Smile

DollyTwat · 12/02/2016 09:47

I think they're for the whole team. The one in Wales was £5000 and my bot was very very excited to get her share of a whopping £70. She said she was the 3rd highest

So I'm guessing her up line would then show a bigger cheque, of which that £5k was a share? That would explain the chequers for £1,533,543,655.00 we see

cozietoesie · 12/02/2016 09:47

Oops. Not the app's finest hour. Smile

Lovewineandchocs · 12/02/2016 09:50

Unfortunately the cheques are all theirs-profit share for getting 1500 ccs or more I think. Obviously they didn't do that on their own, so it's pretty unfair I think, lower bots just making rich bots richer. One of ours had the cheek to ask for help in reaching profit share, saying she needed 7ccs from our team! She is a sapphire manager!

Eyespying · 12/02/2016 09:51

cozietoesie foragogogo I've not seen my brother for 20 years. He eventually slid out of 'Amway' after losing a packet, split from his partner and now pretends he was never involved. My mother died in 2004, and I never saw her for the last 7 years of her life. She was paranoid the last time I met her alone; when she told me that I was trying to destroy my brother's business and kill her. She tried to physically attack me, but threatened to call the police if I didn't go away.

Prior to that, I once went to my mother's home with her MP, but we were turned away by my brother's Ambot partner who ignored me, but calmly told the MP that she shouldn't take any notice of me, because I was mentally disturbed. The MP, realised that 'Amway' was a cult, but there was nothing she could do to help me.

Without the determined efforts of people like me and Robert FitzPatrick, to expose 'MLM' cultic rackets, I don't think that people like Bill Ackman would have been able to come on the scene and challenge 'Herbalife.'

The MN threads have finally brought together a significant group of people with a very similar attitude to myself. I'm very encouraged by how quickly everyone here has fathomed how 'MLM' cults function, and I think that MN and TV represent a real, and growing, threat to 'MLM' racketeers' monopoly of information.

cozietoesie · 12/02/2016 09:57

If he pretends he wasn't involved then I assume he hasn't recovered from it/come to terms with it? I guess many people can't. - which shows how much respect should go to the ex-distributors who have come on these threads. Strong and forthright people indeed.

Annie65 · 12/02/2016 10:16

Hear, hear Cozie. Totally agree with you. I wonder if I would have been sucked in when my daughter was a baby as I didnt want to go back work. Dont think I would have been in for long as I have never been one for shelling out money up-front, but I would have been completly on my own with noone to talk to like the people on these threads. We should all be proud of ourselves and give all the ex bots a bloody good pat on the back. WineStarChocolateGrin
