So glad I found this thread and joined MN. I'm trying to think of the best way to explain to my 'upline' that I have made a mistake in joining. I still have to see this lady on a daily basis at the school and I'd like to remain civil. Although I'm sure I'll be cut off and branded #negative and #hatersgonnahate

jazmine25 · 27/01/2016 18:39

Brilliant! Thank you Eyespying I will be sure to have a good read at these later on. The more I know about the con that is MLM the better so that I can pass this knowledge on to any potential next victims! x

Siwi · 27/01/2016 18:47

Jasmine, I would advise you (and I believe this is general advice from cult experts) to fully inform yourself about this cult. When you are more informed about the parts of FL that they do not want you to know, you will feel more confident about your actions.

It takes courage to leave, given the highly slick methods they use to entrap people.

Shunning people who leave is a standard cult characteristic but then, are these the type of people that you want to know?

I'm not sure who posted this but someone said that 95 percent of distributors leave. These are not failures. These are the people who had the sense to get out after seeing this pyramid scheme for what it is.

(By the way, how did you find this thread?)

Siwi · 27/01/2016 18:49

Have they made the compliance YouTube videos private?

Eyespying · 27/01/2016 18:50

jazmine25 There is no better way of disenaging from an 'MLM' cult than to smile sweetly and say to the recruiter that you have made your decision on the advice of your independent legal and financial advisers. You should then ask the recruiter if she consulted independent financial, and/or legal advisers, before she signed up.

Unless she's core-'FLP,' this woman could also be having doubts.

Hi jazmine25
Appreciate your honesty. If they react badly if you say you aren't continuing and treat you negatively they are effectively handing you the largest piece of evidence that you are making the right decision. It will simply show that the faux love bombing and positivity they have been showering you with is utterly conditional on you helping their business plan.
The fact that you don't want to cause hassle and wish to remain civil with these people is to your credit, just try not to let them use your good character against you. Thanks again for your input.

Eyespying · 27/01/2016 18:56

Siwi - Other than an insignificant minority of top shills who run the related-advance fee frauds, effectively 100% of all persons who have signed up for 'MLM' cultic rackets, have eventually given up. In some 'MLM' cults, the hidden annual churn/insolvency rates have exceeded 90%, but they are always well over over 50%.

jazmine75 Hopefully your upline will not be too negative about it, after all she's got her cc from you joining. The thing which would make her v negative is if you asked for FL to buyback your unused stock (if you have any, hopefully not), as this would reduce her own cc's.

On a different note, forever's own resort company must be making some profit on the global rally bots who choose to attend FL own safari deals... Okay some bots are given an activity allowance of a few hundred dollars, but prices for two on these safaris won't be fully covered by any margin.

Well done socks I can't wait to see these videos resurface!

One thing that gets me is how they call themselves a coach or mentor. You just bought a box of toiletries love, calm down.

I have so much respect for those of you who got out, are getting out or even just have doubts, you've came to the right place!

I'd love to hear from more ex-MLMers Smile

acatcalledjohn · 27/01/2016 20:46

Thanks for the new shiny fred!

Love exposing you Grin

DollyTwat · 27/01/2016 20:48

Ok so can any ex-FL people help me out here? I've tried to work out the profits so I could work out how much I'd have to sell to match my salary. I reckon that 1cc is about £50 profit is that right?
I can't begin to work out the bonus structure.

Also according to the handbook you have to attend the events to get your promotion. If you can't attend do you stay at the same level?

Siwi I found this thread on a google search for the truth about forever living and the previous thread for this one and a few others came up. I had been reading them with interest as I had serious doubts in my mind and today I had to join MN to give some input and find out more about just how vile these MLM companies really are. out of interest, do we have any ex FL bots on here who also saw the light? and what was it about FL that started putting doubts in your mind?

throwingpebbles · 27/01/2016 20:49

jazmine there is no shame in having been "entrapped" into joining.
They employ clever tactics and most of their focus is on recruitment. Even though I know all the flaws and scams of FLP and have seen a close family member bot lie multiple times on Facebook about how "successful" she is, I still find it hard to not get sucked into their elaborate tales of luxury and success.

jazmine25 · 27/01/2016 20:53

Bovnydazzlers thankfully I don't have any stock to sell back. I have used most of the products from my business box, some good products but way overpriced. I hadn't bought in any additional stock as everything is so expensive I could barely generate interest from any potential customers

I'm the exact same Jazmine-we should join the TV support group! 😀

Patzy85 · 27/01/2016 21:02

Dolly - from what I understand 1cc is about £140 with around £60 profit (I'm sure this is when you are no longer classed as a new distributor, initially the profit margin is much less) and to be active/achieving your targets you need 4cc a month.

However remember that 1cc HAS to be bought by you, for yourself, using your own reference as you HAVE to use the products at home (that works out at 1 toothpaste and some hand sanitiser, I think Wink)

So out of those 4cc you made FL around £560.
You made approx £240 for yourself.
Then remember to away the cost you're required to spend each month and you have a whole £100 profit.

Then take away:
Travel/delivery costs
Success days
Sizzles
Stationary
Subscription fees
Samples
PUPP boxes (to give out)
Etc

And you're left with, well, nothing.
