throwingpebbles Like 'Scientology', 'MLM' cults have been vast intelligence gathering machines. I made a crack the other day about the 'FLP UK HQ' needing a document shredder, but it makes you wonder where all the confidential data about gathhered by British 'FLP' adherents about themselves and their friends, and relatives, has been ultimately sent and stored?

Patzy85 · 30/01/2016 17:50

These snippets from Steps to Manager.

Everyone you know is a target. Everyone you've ever met. And don't forget to write down when you've spoke to someone so you know when to hassle contact again.

Imagine seeing your dear old gran as a potential sign up!

Resideria · 30/01/2016 18:00

What a great thread! I loved it first for the entertainment factor, but am now actually sickened, especially by people who really should know better (ex-barrister, NHS surgeon) setting out to hunt down potential 'prey' and con them.

cozietoesie · 30/01/2016 18:11

People are massively susceptible to grooming, Resideria. That warm buzz of friendship, that glow of approbation, that sense of being part of the 'in' crowd - it can all make otherwise rational people do the most stupid things. And those are the sort of people that MLMs want as well - large circles of acquaintances, 'standing' in the community etc etc. I should imagine that they're really targeted very hard.

Patzy85 · 30/01/2016 18:45

I wonder if an online petition for the government to tighten the regulations for these MLM schemes would be beneficial?

Anyone know how these work?

Eyespying · 30/01/2016 18:52

cozitoesie Perverts groom kids for sexual/psychological abuse by offering them sweets, cigarettes, alcohol, etc. 'MLM' racketeers groom adults for financial/psychological abuse by offering them cars, money, trips to exotic places, association with celebrities, group recognition, etc.

For all the reasons you have highlighted, immigrants (including illegal immigrants, and second, third, fourth, etc., generation immigrants), have been easy prey from 'MLM' rackets. The majority of 'Herbalife' recruitment has been in the Hispanic community in the USA in recent years. Illegal immigrants have been known as 'No-Fly Distributors' in 'Herbalife,' because they can't leave the USA to go on the trips.

After 'Amway' virtually vanished in France in the 1990s, for a while it reappeared almost exclusively in the Chinese community in, and around, Paris.

The 'ACN' racket has been particularly virulent amongst young Muslim men in Europe. This is highly ironic given that Donald Trump has fronted 'ACN.'

'FLP' is becoming virulent in the British Sikh community.

Eyespying · 30/01/2016 19:12

Patzy85 Sadly, British trading schemes regulations have been heavily influenced by 'MLM' racketeers via lobbyists (financed with stolen money) who pretended to want tougher legislation against pyramid schemes. What their criminal pay-masters really wanted was to introduce a legal definition of 'direct selling' that was so linguistically vague that product-based 'MLM' pyramid schemes could be made to appear to be technically legal.

The infiltration of government by the de facto agents of 'MLM' racketeers, has happened all over the globe. You can spot the tell-tale meaningless terminology in 5 seconds, if you know what you are looking for.

New technical reglations are the last thing required, the criminal law is quite clear about fraud in Britain, and this is what should have been used to halt 'MLM' racketeers in their tracks. No trading scheme sponsors should ever have been allowed to offer economically-incestuous commission payments linked to the participants' own purchases.

That said it's high time that legislators defined the universal identifying characteristic of all pyramids and Ponzis, and banned the instigation of dissimulated closed-markets. That would nail all fraudulent trading schemes which cannot demonstrate that the overwhelming majority of their revenue has derived from genuine retail sales to general public (based on value and demand).

A common-sense law making it a criminal offence to instigate, or pervert, a non-rational ritual belief system for the clandestine purpose of human exploitation, has been required for many centuries.

lastuser fab job on TV, last few posts been brill. Maybe the horrific Uganda one could have the link up thread added about the awful consequences of exploitation on the poor? Weary that some bots who come across TV but not mumsnet may not believe that FL would actually do that.

On a high up younique bot's page...'anyone from Stella and Dot want to do an order swap?'
Shows exactly the requirement for distributor to become the customer...

Mootpointer - I've sent you a PM on the subject of this Blogger, Mr Chang. He has been banned from posting misleading comments on my Blog and on that of an Indian colleague.

Mr. Chang has also posted some inexplicable (morally relativist) stuff on the Net in which he trivialises brutal totalitarian Dictatorships.

Mootpointer -I have a awful feeling that now he's been mentioned on MN, we might get visited by this blogger.

Mootpointer · 30/01/2016 20:11

More training input ..
"How to grade your profile sheets. Use 3 different coloured pens
green - people like you with vision & ambition
red - people who are dissatisfied & have no money
blue - people who are wanters, not necessarily unhappy but want more (health, money, time, bigger house or car)
Now grade your prospects by colour and select your top 10 greens, then top 10 reds then top 10 blues. Now start making those calls.

Business calls
Make them short & to the point. Remember you are inviting them to a 1 2 1 meeting just to look at the business.
Use a script, have it in front of you with the profiling sheet.
Don't use jargon or try to do a presentation on the phone
Expect some questions, be prepared.

Handling questions on the phone
Invite to 'get together over coffee' or 'I'd love to show you what I'm doing' or 'I'd love to run an idea past you'
Remember FEEL,FELT,FOUND - eg prospect says 'I'd not be able to do this, I've never been in sales before'
You reply ' I know how you FEEL, I FELT the same way too but once I started I FOUND that ....some of the most successful people in the company didn't come from that sort of background either'
Park the naysayers.
Persevere and continue with the others"

penny1ane · 30/01/2016 20:31

I'm afraid I may have to leave this thread although I have found it very interesting.
I have made the decision that you are all wrong about the business.
I just logged on to my flp business account and found to my surprise 1.5 cc's has gone through my business. I didn't even lift a finger. All my previous hard work is finally paying off.
I'm not sure what profit I get from 1.5 cc's but I'm sure I can finally retire now, and I'm still in my 30's!!!!
You've just gotta believe.
Has anyone got Andy Warings number?
This kind of news needs to be celebrated on his yacht!!!

mummyof3girls25 · 30/01/2016 20:33

Ex FL bot here, been watching this thread with interest. Previously posted as jazmine25. So glad I saw through this nonsense pretty quickly and didn't waste too much time or money with the company. I have now been cast out by my "Forever Friends" for liking so called abuse against EC. It was hardly abuse, just the infamous video of her contradicting herself! Can't believe how quick they turn against you, no big loss to me!

Roseformeplease · 30/01/2016 20:39

One of my Bot's up line. Younique. Amazing what you can buy with some glittery shit and a few mascara wands. # #smellslikebullshit

mummyof3girls25 The penalty for FL Bot Doubting Thomases, sinners and apostates, is shunning. When the unquestioning Bots become the only group of creatures you frequent, their fictitious reality can become your only reality.

LadyLannister · 30/01/2016 20:56

Have name changed for this in case the person I'm talking about is a member on here but I'm pretty certain a good friend has been recruited by one of these dodgy MLM companies.

The sad thing is that normally she's a very intelligent person but herself and her husband have had some serious financial problems recently, and as she's a stay at home mum who is feeling a bit vulnerable at the moment it seems she has been sucked in.

Has anyone heard of Ariix, as this seems to be the company she has been recruited by (did a bit of digging around to find the name). She started off trying to sell all types of health and wellness products. Magical drops which will make you skinny within weeks ( although you have to follow a 1200 calorie a day diet and exercise alongside the drops for them to work Wink ), water bottles with some filter inside, superfood shots etc. She's moved onto trying to recruit now.

The constant fb posts are starting to get really annoying - relentless positive memes, constant hash tagging. If she wasn't such a close friend I would have blocked her posts by now but reading this thread is making me worried for her because as I say, she is very vulnerable at the moment due to her financial problems.

Thing is I know there's no point saying anything negative about it to her at the moment as she is well and truly brainwashed. I think she would just fall out with me if I try to utter a negative word about the whole thing. I really hope she doesn't lose too much money doing this Sad

mummyof3girls25 · 30/01/2016 20:59

Their obsession with "mindset training" blocking out negativity attending every business presentation and constant "training" was bizarre. Do they never wonder why so many people are sceptical?! Over priced products and exploiting your friends and family getting them to sign up. Their view is though, if your friends fall out with you because of the "business",it's ok because you have your new found "Forever friends" who are always so sickeningly positive and O.t.t!

Eyespying · 30/01/2016 21:07

LadyLannister

'Ariix' is yet another blame the victim 'MLM' income opportunity' cultic racket,

'Ariix' is a spin off of the ('Mormon') 'USANA' racket.

mlmtheamericandreammadenightmare.blogspot.fr/2014/07/usana-ariix-yet-another-amway-copy-cat.html

'Ariix' has also been connected to 'Scientology' via a certain Tim Sales (a 'Scientologist').

Mootpointer · 30/01/2016 21:14

eyes that is so true. I've seen & know plenty of bots who thrive in this environment of love bombing but If I'm honest it does concern me greatly. Some of their personal stories demonstrate such vulnerability in their lives. Despicable tactics by upline bots. Angry

SocksRock · 30/01/2016 21:17

Ariix should be prosecuted for crimes against the letter "i" apart from anything else...

Lovewineandchocs · 30/01/2016 21:19

mummy
I agree totally. It is the same thing over and over. I'm a naturally positive person but couldn't bring myself to share in the OTT enthusiasm of the FL Bots. My first week in, I looked at my upline shrieking with excitement over receiving a crappy pin and thought, "Really?!" I think a lot of people who join are not naturally positive, or perhaps going through a bad time emotionally (upline had depression) and are therefore more vulnerable to the false positivity of FL Bots-does that make sense?
