Continuing the discussion of the various network marketing schemes or multi-level marketing schemes (MLMs) that people we know are involved in.

If you have a bot of your own then join us and share what they are saying!

Or if you are researching a company before signing up to be a network marketer please take a look at the previous bot watch thread and also this thread which delves deeper into the workings of MLMs.

And don't forget our very own MN MLM Timeless Vie!

Womens hour, which magazine, advertising standards, watchdog. Etc...

Knakard · 30/11/2015 22:53

Have been lurking on these threads, don't post often but had to share this link, shows up the total con job, haven't seen anything quite as honest before.

Siwi · 01/12/2015 09:16

Brilliant Sminky!

Kewcumber · 01/12/2015 10:04

Oh Lordy - I never thought I'd say this... I've smugly watched this thread and others like it thinking "I have normal friends on FB none of them would be drawn into this nonsense"... and then...

"What a great online meeting tonight, feeling very inspired to know that I can be on £3000 a month and be on a car plan by March!"

Do I have the nerve to reply "No, you won't. Get a grip"

Or shall I just order the C9 - great results 60day money back guarantee drop a dress size for Christmas?

acatcalledjohn · 01/12/2015 10:35

Excellent work, sminky! Can you link where you complained?

acatcalledjohn · 01/12/2015 10:43

Kew: Ask them if their upline has provided them proof of earnings to support their claims.

sminkypink · 01/12/2015 11:23

You can complain here, www.asa.org.uk/Consumers/How-to-complain.aspx
I just sent screengrabs.
I'm actually wondering if anyone who makes documentaries would be interested in this, or an investigative journalist. The angle for me is the way that they manipulate their brainwashed reps to use social media, especially Facebook, YouTube and Instagram, in order to make these false claims and therefore circumvent the law, even the way they make their bots place words such as 'scam' on their pages to deliberately push critical websites to the bottom of the Google search. It's very deceptive and clever. I wonder if the fact that their reps are self employed sales agents - which is what they are, they aren't business owners, lets face it; means that the risk from being dishonest, gets passed onto them. They are careful not to lie on their own social media are they? All risk: stock holding, marketing is passed onto the rep. All overheads are passed onto the rep. They may even be making a profit on the training days. I guess we could figure that out simply by phoning these venues for a quote.
Loving the youtube link. How much actual Aloe shite do they have to use/shift/hoard? 64 case credits to become a manager. I expect there's no room in the garage for the car!
Anyway, huns, I need to get on with my own #laptopbusiness seeing as it's invoicing day. Considering demanding that my clients pay me with giant cheques this month, then I can Instagram myself with them. #bossbabe

Run247 · 01/12/2015 12:55

Daily Fail, or maybe not, they'd probably be discrediting half their readership..

Run247 · 01/12/2015 13:00

I had no idea #bossbabe is an actual company! Not sure what it really does though. Except make memes.

Can the FL bots actually use those bossbabe images without bossbabe' permission?

Siwi · 01/12/2015 13:28

I am confused about boss babe.

Could 'we' list main points of mlm objectionable practices, in case we can attract any media?

  • manipulation of brainwashed reps to use social media; reps are blamed for mad claims (and rest of what Swink said)
  • targeting vulnerable people, esp new mothers (see net hums thread)
  • fraudulent lifestyles, eg, EC's castle are dangled as incentives

Loads more: super drug sell same stuff, alienation of family and friends, monthly cost of products for personal use, pressure from up line (as described by poster whose friend had left fl), cost of seminars, CDs, 'successs days' etc

Kewcumber · 01/12/2015 14:02

another (that makeup thingie) friend has posted on FB that her "friend" who is now an exec VP had just got a new car courtesy of "our" business. Surely not?! does that really happen?

sminkypink · 01/12/2015 14:06

Untrained reps claiming that the product is safe and non toxic for everyone when it may not be safe.
Eg: complaint on FL Facebook page where woman was sold clean 9 despite being allergic to caffeine (it contains caffeine) and rep assuring her it didn't. Made her very ill. Doctors visit.
No awareness or training on how some of these products may be harmful to certain people, they are not told any negatives at all as the whole cult is positive, positive, positive (no wonder they are told to read The Secret, where anything negative is ignored and we pretend it doesn't exist.
eg Bee pollen can be very harmful to those allergic to bee stings. Should be avoided by pregnant women.
Pets: people encouraged to feed their dogs Aloe juice, there was even a FL campaign to encourage it, yet aloe can be poisonous to cats and dogs. here's what the aspca says, (loads more online in various places) www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/toxic-and-non-toxic-plants/aloe
Aloe juice may be carcinogenic in rats. The FDA advised that humans do not ingest it, yet the FL bots have swamped the web with 'studies' shouting down this research, so dodgy.

But there is some research online that hasn't been altered and trolled. here's what the Mayo clinic says, not so wonderful and amazing is it? www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/aloe/safety/HRB-20058665
Claiming the product is all natural when it really isn't
Now I'm a proper hippy when it comes to beauty products, I read all labels, try to buy organic, use bicarb of soda white vinegar and lemon juice for cleaning. My bullshit detector goes off when they claim this stuff is pure and natural. It's really not. At all. It's about as natural as any supermarket own brand. It's junk. The aloe juice contains sorbitol. It's a known irritant of IBS. (The bots claim the juice can cure IBS!)
The deodorant contains triclosan, its safety is currently under review. It's something I avoid as it's harmful to fish and birds (I live onboard).
The shampoo is full of the usual parabens and silicones, I'll stick to Faith in Nature from the evil Holland and Barrett, thank you very much.

sminkypink · 01/12/2015 14:08

yeah Siwi, my 'bot' claimed that she had just been to view EC castle as she was buying it. Now I know who EC is, I've since recognised the photos from her own page.
I wonder how many of the bots are claiming to be buying her castle?

Siwi · 01/12/2015 14:28

The castle thing is weird.

bettyberry · 01/12/2015 14:34

sminky Thanks for that! My bot was labelling the FL products as pharmaceuticals. (I screen grabbed a while back) and a complaint made her change it! The complaint wasn't from me though so someone else is on the case locally too.

AJFsmummy · 01/12/2015 18:31

Well ECs castle is still up for sale.....

sminkypink · 01/12/2015 19:01

Ha! Well that must be where it came from, then, the bots are all sharing the photo online. It's almost a little girls Sindy/Barbie fantasy lifestyle they are flogging, castle to live in, white car that does look a bit like a toy car, to me.

givemecheese · 01/12/2015 20:51

Where is EC's castle based? I was trying to find it on google!!
Does anyone know if stella and dot is another one of these cons? Have a friend who has just requested I join her page.

acatcalledjohn · 01/12/2015 21:01

Annie65 · 01/12/2015 21:05

One of my FL bots has announced that Jayne Leech, who has been in the business for 20 years, now earn 50 million a year. Now I hope that is a typing error she has done, or does she really believe in that total bullshit.Hmm

ambler21 · 01/12/2015 21:05

Hiyall. Does anyone know what "achieving 1500cc" actually means. I'm still confused (as they want it of course) even after tonnes of general research. I'm presuming it means someones personal cc's plus their teams active cc's all added together =1500cc ?? If so is that after a year / month??? Maybe, rayofhope , you can help?
givemecheese Google Kemeys Folly

AJFsmummy · 01/12/2015 21:15

I might have to call and enquire about the castle..see if its for sale still as i heard heard someone is living in it.....

givemecheese · 01/12/2015 21:20

Bloody hell, that house is gorgeous but ever so slightly out of my price range :)
I wonder how EC has managed to wrangle renting it out.....

Snowglobe18 · 01/12/2015 21:28

Hahahaha! I enjoy these threads immensely, but have never posted before as my worst bot sells Young Living in the US rather than the ones mentioned here.

But I HAD to share this. Here's her picture of her Elf on the Shelf returning for the year...talking about whether her daughters will find her...no mention in her caption of the careful product placement...

LittleMissStubborn · 01/12/2015 21:32

cheese belief is that FL have it as a business rent and EC is living there as some kind of front but also with an expectation that she will 'host' things.
