Continuing the discussion of the various network marketing schemes or multi-level marketing schemes (MLMs) that people we know are involved in.

If you have a bot of your own then join us and share what they are saying!

Or if you are researching a company before signing up to be a network marketer please take a look at the previous bot watch thread and also this thread which delves deeper into the workings of MLMs.

And don't forget our very own MN MLM Timeless Vie!

acat your new lyrics are fab! If I can get some time I'll try to add them to an instrumental of the song for a TV FB video...

I am constantly challenging them. One college friend thanked me when other college friend (the bot) tried really really hard to get her to sign up. I made it clearer by posting the numbers you posted up thread, the company profits divided by the number of distributors. She said she'd save the £200 for a gig and train ticket Grin

I think the TV stuff I keep 'liking' is working too. Noticed one of my friends have followed but also their friends have questioned if she's doing the stuff herself! Means its working in that it looks real.

lastuseraccount123 · 23/11/2015 22:02

EXCELLENT!!!

cat did a mention lately that i think I love you?

lastuseraccount123 · 23/11/2015 22:14

checked in on my bot. she's busy a. recruiting b. posting selfies with FL products and c. posting pics of her kids with FL products

same old same old

acatcalledjohn · 23/11/2015 22:24

Luv ya to, huni!

acatcalledjohn · 23/11/2015 22:25

Cheeky, a recording would be an excellent addition to the TV page!

lazycoo · 23/11/2015 22:37

Nice work cat!

Anyone got any requests/ ideas for TV?

Christmaspanties · 24/11/2015 06:29

One of my bots has been on a managers retreat 'holiday' and there is the obligatory photo of her by the pool with laptop. That type of holiday would make me shudder.

bettyberry · 24/11/2015 07:46

I keep having those boy pages recommended. So I'm obliged to ask for facts and figures before I sign up right? Wink

Let's see if any provide said information or tell me why they change business names so often and why after 2 years a tax return hasn't been filed so I can't check the viability of the business.

I fear I am poking a bear. Confused

shirleyknotanotherbot · 24/11/2015 08:09

My UWbot is visiting today for a cuppa and to tell me about a lightbulb offer. I've had a quick Google and I don't think it will benefit me. UW don't seem as bad as FL, or am I being naive? She does call herself a team leader and I remember something about a car a few years ago. Seems that the main benefit of UW is to have all bills consolidated - not a huge benefit imo? I shal try to recruit you let you know how it went.

Christmaspanties · 24/11/2015 08:14

Same rules apply to all MLM's shirley UW included - be strong otherwise it was nice knowing you Grin

Christmaspanties · 24/11/2015 08:20

Timelessvie request - proper debunking of the FL car plan using those slides that showed just how many CCs they need to flog each month in return for their 'free' car and its just a rental scheme anyway. A local bot who is already famous for being tough a bitch to her downline now has earned a car and has turned up the pressure on her team to sell more. The team member of hers I know is quite vulnerable at the moment and I seriously fear for her wellbeing but shes too desperate to earn money to listen to what anyone tells her. Sad

ihearttea · 24/11/2015 10:30

Very entertaining post from by FL bot this morning! She posted a photo of the gel bottle and tagged loads of people in it. Someone asked what it was for/ the benefits of drinking aloe.... well her and all her bot friends were scrambling to get the poor girl's business - it turned quite nasty as they all ploughed in with the first one saying 'I'm a business owner, I'll PM you' and all the others arguing that she was their friend/ they asked her first/ so and so has been doing it for longer so she deserves the sale/ so and so needs x amount of CCs this month... what an advert! The poor thing probably ran a mile!

sminkypink · 24/11/2015 13:04

I'm reading the Forever Living entry on Wikipedia. It says in 2010 the company made 1.7 billion dollars through 9.3 million distributors. I work that out at $182.79 per distributor. That's about £120! Awful! I wonder if that is buying their shite and then not being able to sell any of it on?

I bet you could follow some of the hints and tips on money saving expert and make that in a morning, even if you bunged a few things on ebay, at least you wouldn't have to hawk the overpriced green gunk to your mates.

Suck up those facts FL bots!

My bot has gone quiet, she made a REALLY BIG DEAL of taking the weekend off to spend it with her family.

I took the weekend off, too, but I did not make a big deal, despite being a business owner and #bossbabe (spew) myself (n.b. a proper freelance business that is actually mine). Me and a mate booked a five star hotel in town, for her birthday, yes we drank prosecco went for an expensive meal, neither of us posted a single thing on Facebook, we didn't feel the need to boast. There were no hashtags, no selfies (who the hell wants to ruin a nice meal by taking selfies?), no inspirational bullshit memes were shared.

I am now at my mothers for a week, working on the couch from laptop, again, no need for memes, no need for boasts, no photos of me in my bathrobe (my mother would say, 'why are you not dressed?' ). Got half a dozen friends who do the same freelance job as me (we are freelance designers for trade customers, the big retailers, brands etc), most of us have kids, none of us feel the need to post memes up and boast about it, we may have a whinge about the computer breaking before a deadline. Or an awkward client or a late payer. But we don't ever put on a performance. Why would you do that?

I'm logging off social media for a month tomorrow, I need to work on my portfolio and website and get off Facebook. But I wonder if FL Bot will still be a global business mentor when I'm back?

Elginballs · 24/11/2015 13:12

Need tv entry on Wikipedia..

How is this to be accomplished?

Elginballs · 24/11/2015 13:13

Flying Spaghetti Monster has an entry.

sminkypink · 24/11/2015 13:27

I note (also in Wikipedia) that FL were taken to court in Hungary for making false medical claims about their product.
So it's genius isn't it to get FL Bots (who don't seem to know any better) to break the law via Facebook instead, where it's almost impossible to police it.

Annie65 · 24/11/2015 13:53

My Flbot has advertised the fl deodorant stick. She has had it 8 months now, she uses it as a balm when she has shaved her legs too. I tried it when she offered her pupp box to me. Its bloody crap! I told her when the weathers hot and I was sweating, it was rubbish. She agreed with me and said that she didnt like it too. But today on her fb its the best thing since sliced bread. Im so tempted to write something on her comments. She has brassed me off anyway. She is my SIL, and she sent my Daughter a moving in card, which I thought was nice of her, until I found out there was a FL leaflet inside the card. She then tried to recruit her, but my daughter is too switched on to fall for the crap, thank goodness, but she did ask what her reasons were for not wanting to join. I am annoyed with the sneeky way she tried to get her into it. I assume she is getting very desperate for the "cc's". Angry

Christmaspanties · 24/11/2015 13:59

Do any of us have a bot that has given up yet? I wonder if they'll want to save face and never confess they've stopped being active?

sminkypink · 24/11/2015 14:28

Yes, someone I know, she's gone very quiet. Stopped plugging it, but I thikn she gave up very quick, I guess most of them do. They give up when they realise they can't even sell the welcome pack. The only one who liked her youtubes was her mum. She invited 300 of us to her online party and six went. I think she had a lucky escape. Go look on Facebook, so many dead forever living pages. Tumbleweed blowing through them.
My cough successful FL Bot took her mum to lunch and tried to recruit the waitress, today, do they ever stop fretting thinking about that downline?

shirleyknotanotherbot · 24/11/2015 16:38

One of my FLbots has given up - after about a month. She has deleted her FB account as it 'took up too much time" - I'm meeting her for lunch tomorrow & might get some info but will not bring it up if she doesn't as I like her very much and would like to leave her dignity intact.

My UWbot came round today (in her mini with UW ask me plastered all over). She made a very good pitch and it does look like we could save a fair few £s. We have a very big draughty house and spend fortunes on gas & electricity. They also do a 7% cash back card for purchases - we also spend a fortune on groceries. I am tempted. No mention whatsoever of recruitment.

Re the wiki entry for FL - I'd be more interested in their turnover than profit, to calculate sales per distributor. Profit to FLHQ may be a small %age of distributor turnover?

shirleyknotanotherbot · 24/11/2015 17:17

Ah, just looked - that figure was revenue not profit Blush

GruntledOne · 24/11/2015 18:04

I keep getting bollocks from a JuicePlus bot about how it's virtually as good as fresh fruit and veg. Strangely when I ask why I wouldn't just eat fresh fruit and veg she seems unable to reply.

Tiredemma · 24/11/2015 18:54

My FLbot is now describing herself as a 'Lifestyle Guru' Hmm

Ye Gods

CheekySmile · 24/11/2015 19:15

Ooh tiredemma a guru! Wow, that's upping the ante somewhat!
