Continuing the discussion of the various network marketing schemes or multi-level marketing schemes (MLMs) that people we know are involved in.

If you have a bot of your own then join us and share what they are saying!

Or if you are researching a company before signing up to be a network marketer please take a look at the previous bot watch thread and also this thread which delves deeper into the workings of MLMs.

And don't forget our very own MN MLM Timeless Vie!

request: can someone do a screenshot of their bot refusing to state the prices of their products in public and asking people to "inbox them"? please and thankyou. for the website.

WindyMillersProbationOfficer · 22/11/2015 17:26

EC's photo of her son with the comment 'my heart literally bleeds' has me itching to comment 'have you tried aloe for that, hun?"

Siwi · 22/11/2015 18:58

Happy Back to Work Day, Cheeky!

IoraRua · 22/11/2015 19:04

I have a bot who is advertising for new recruits, but refusing to say what the 'wonderful business opportunity' actually is lastuser, if that's any use? Anyone who asks questions is then asked to PM her.

I'm sure she'd refuse to state the prices of her aloe shite too but I've looked back through her page and not once in the entire two years has she actually tried to sell product. It's all about the wonderful lifestyle her business gives her! Hmm

lastuseraccount123 · 22/11/2015 19:26

that works, would you mind screenshotting her post?

CandyCaneCottage · 22/11/2015 19:32

Just looking at Xenu's post, and a few others I think I'm clearly new to the game, see I've seen on Facebook a few people ask about it, I actually thought people did buy it. I know of one person that bought some products and the woman who said they bought them were quite close at the time, we've stopped speaking but when she needs me again I'll be sure to ask her what happened.

But anyway it now appears to me that I've actually been quite naive and a large part of the scam is not selling the products with false claims but actually roping in more "distributors" to start "selling" so they are compelled to rope in more and help your "downline" essentially one scammer starts, scams someone else who instead of feeling like crap and denounces it, they ruthlessly scam more people to help themselves and even more shamelessly it's mostly family and friends who thought they could trust you

CandyCaneCottage · 22/11/2015 19:34

Perhaps the one saying she was starting to use it was doing groundwork to start selling before seeing the light that it's a scam or getting coldfeet ?

IoraRua · 22/11/2015 20:11

Will do. Assuming no names of course?

IoraRua · 22/11/2015 20:19

Actually I've been having a look at the page there - she's deleted all the irritated people saying for the love of Jaysus, what was it - I'll hold off until I see her refusing to tell people openly what it is and screenshot that!
I'll screenshot the other stuff too but it's not as thrilling Wink

lazycoo · 22/11/2015 20:47

Spot on candy Grin

lastuseraccount123 · 22/11/2015 21:31

awesome Iorarua.

lastuseraccount123 · 22/11/2015 21:32

Iora no names, I will remove them from all screenshots for the blog unless someone states otherwise.

bettyberry · 22/11/2015 23:00

acat I have actually told several people that marketing bee pollen to pregnant ladies endangers them and their babies.

One said 'you're not a Dr!' The irony! Blocked by another and one said I was incredibly insensitive bringing up her past baby loss I didn't and that only a bitch would suggest that she was doing harm. She couldn't get past it. Sore spot there I guess but surely, having been through several losses myself, the last thing you want to do is recommend any product that is considered unsafe esp given the evidence presented. :(

acatcalledjohn · 23/11/2015 00:08

Really? Those responses from bots are low and dangerous.

If ever you do end up murdering one, I will happily offer you an alibi. Unless the government ban MLMs with a focus on recruitment in the UK...but I fear that would be too easy.

Sorry for your losses. Thanks

lastuseraccount123 · 23/11/2015 00:18

sorry for your losses too berry been there. Flowers

CheekySmile · 23/11/2015 06:53

2 more of the bots I'm stalking have now switched to being 'lifestyle coaches'. I reckon this advice must have been given in someone's training recently as there's so many of them doing it.

On a separate note I was at my friend's baby shower yesterday and totally didn't realise that the bot I'd given my honest opinion about FL to when she invited me to her launch would be there. Awkward...

Also Flowers for bettyberry and last. Me too.

Flowers betty, last and cheeky - me four.

Betty good for you for keeping challenging and what horrible responses. We really do lose our friends to these cults.

Cheeky how were things at the baby shower? Did the bot turn it into a recruitment drive?

Libitina · 23/11/2015 11:35

Looks as though Natalie Heeley has at least 1,000 members in her team. That's a lot of people! Almost all of them turned up to her training day at the weekend. Wonder how much they each paid for that? Not counting travel and accomodation in London. Nice little earner for Ms Heeley and her cronies.

xenu1 · 23/11/2015 14:19

CCC. Again, not sure how you braved the whole Younique rewards presentation. I gave up 3 slides in! It is beyond parody! Of course all MLMs blur "rewards" from selling or buying for yourself, that's why they use the weird terms like "CC", "PV" etc. to try and convince the poor dupes that the more they pay the MLM, the more they are "building the business". Didn't someone work out that the annual FL turnover, divided by number of "business owners", works out at $330 each or almost exactly the cost of a starter pack (£200 in UK I think).

You wrote "essentially one scammer starts, scams someone else who instead of feeling like crap and denounces it, they ruthlessly scam more people to help themselves"
There are scammers, of course, but I'm sure a lot of the low-levels truly believe. It doesn't make the outcome any better, but we should perhaps pity them a bit?

You might enjoy the Baffler article on Amway: well-written, critical, amusing and perhaps even sympathetic:

Confusion is commonly the preferred modus operandi
Of companies also known as
(Pyr’mid)
A CC is earned though purchasing for yourself
Or recruiting single mothers everywhere
(Fake it)
Emma Cooper’s a pro, and lives in a ‘castle’
we all know she doesn’t own it, the lying cow
(Mindset)
Who’s that mindset master
You should get a life, mate, stop scamming people who are vulnerable

All the people
So many people
They all scam happily
Pyramids - they scam - people!

Know what I mean?

They work from home to spend time with their children
part-time, glass of wine in hand, still online at 11pm
(Full-time)
They wear PJs and have online parties,
And believe this the life for everyone
(Brainwashed)
They make medical claims, however wrong they are
You can’t question it unless you are a doctor
(Caustic)
But MLMs don’t care if you don’t earn, as long as you earn them
Just ignore the figures, they don’t make sense but sound big; that’s all that matters in the end

All the people
So many people
They all scam happily
Pyramids - they scam - people!

Pyr’mids

(Fake it)
Brainwashed
(Full-time)
It's got nothing to do with
selling a quality product you know
(Caustic)
And it’s not about us realists
Who try to save you save you save you
(Mindset)

All the people
So many people
They all scam happily
Pyramids - they scam - people!

xenu1, I have read The Baffler article. I see what you mean about sympathetic; I felt so sorry for Jean, Sherry and Josh, it was so depressing to read about their constant struggles to succeed with AmwaySad.

It is an excellent article though, and gives a fascinating insight into how an MLM like Amway works, from the inside.

stopfaffing · 23/11/2015 17:04

cat brilliant! Grin

Siwi · 23/11/2015 17:31

acatcalledjohn · 23/11/2015 18:51

I just had to rewrite it since the tone of the threads has changed somewhat.

CheekySmile · 23/11/2015 19:39

Siwi I totally forgot to thank you for my back to work good wishes this morning! So Thanks it was much appreciated that you were thinking of me!

Lazy no, not at all. She's a bit of a rubbish bot actually. Just posts once every couple of weeks to see if anyone wants anything ordering. Not sure really how long she'll stick at it.
