I almost feel like it's at the point where we need a spreadsheet to keep track of everyone's great ideas for campaigns etc. I keep saying that, should probably just do it unless someone else wants to step up? she says hopefully

Trayofcakes · 09/11/2015 17:36

I've just come across this from one of my bots..

"I started team A41 around 15 months ago when I started my forever journey. I started to recruit people into my business & VERY quickly realised that these new friends were better than the "friends" I had made over the last 15 years.
They were supportive and on the same journey as me... They wanted to create a better future."

That has to be the most cult-ish thing I've seen someone post yet! Yeah forget about those friends and family that have supported you for your life, you've got aloe buddies now!

Urg it makes my skin crawl.

Trayofcakes · 09/11/2015 17:38

Also I bloody love the timeless vie page. Sorry I'll stop hijacking this thread now Grin

ambler21 · 09/11/2015 17:52

Trayofcakes That is horrible. I like how they realised VERY quickly that their new, glassy eyed aloe friends were better. Their old friends must have been pretty shoddy :)
lastuseraccount123 I don't have any specific skills with spreadsheets so don't wanna take that one on really but for future reference I do have some experience in video and audio editing Wink

lastuseraccount123 · 09/11/2015 18:48

oooh do you????good to know

lastuseraccount123 · 09/11/2015 19:08

tray there are no words. it is incredibly cultish.

Siwi · 09/11/2015 20:10

Tray, this is a common cult characteristic. The newcomer ( often vulnerable) is 'love bombed' and becomes convinced that these are the only people who understand them, their new 'family'. Forever family - it's bandied around a lot.

Everyone is faking it til they make it.
Everyone is conning everyone else.

Siwi · 09/11/2015 20:16

Does anyone listen to You and Yours?

It is a boring r4 programme on at lunchtime.
They do look into scams sometimes.

Could anyone tweet them?

Trayofcakes · 09/11/2015 20:29

Siwi it's just so horrible. I actually find it upsetting how they target clearly vulnerable people! You and yours might be a good shout. I'd love to get Louis Theroux to do a documentary on mlm companies, but that's mainly because I fancy him a little bit.

thanks LaVida

Just to track ideas - because these threads are so linear I think we lose track of good plans.

so far: bombarding BBC with complaints over the shilling of FL
starting website (I'll take that on, I have plans already)
keeping track of outrageous FL health claims & making complaints
etc

there's a lot more i'm not thinking of I bet

LittleMissStubborn · 09/11/2015 21:57

Whilst part of you wants to just roll your eyes at the friend post, it is actually deeply sad. Presumely it was on their news feed so 'old' friends saw it too. There is something so worrying about them cutting themselves off from 'outsiders'. I find it worrying when a couple gets involved as then no one has their back covered. We've all seen it, posts only liked by fellow mlm'ers and just gradually stepping back from other friends as they become more involved and the other friends just looking on in not able to do anything.

lastuseraccount123 · 09/11/2015 21:58

*research on EC
*reseach on Younique etc - there's been some really good stuff dug up already

Siwi · 09/11/2015 22:23

The castle.

Trayofcakes · 09/11/2015 22:24

Little it's really horrible, it's the first time I've seen proper cult behaviour from any one of my bots!

I think trying to get some media coverage of these scams would be amazing but I can't help but think unless you can get someone who has been part of one of these mlm's to talk about how awful they are not many people will pick up the story.

I've been looking into mlm ever since loads of them started going to business networking events an ex employer made me go to, one lady told me how her fl company is worth £2m, I researched her company data on-line and it says her company is worth 19k. She also said her children will get paid royalties from forever when she dies. I'm sure I've got an email exchange from her someone I should try and dig it out.

Cinnamoncookie · 09/11/2015 22:32

I hadn't seen the Kristina Rhianoff video before I posted the BBC guidelines link - she never actually mentions Strictly, she just talks about being a dancer and doing hours of training. It's the FL FB page that makes the direct link with the BBC show in the caption below the video. So I'm not sure if it does contravene the guidelines.

AJFsmummy · 10/11/2015 05:43

I'm tempted to call the estate agents about 'the castle'.

Tiredemma · 10/11/2015 06:41

The cult thing is interesting. I work in healthcare and the majority of my FLBots also worked with me. Over the past few years they are people that ended up being dismissed from their posts. Its interesting to see pics of them all now looking glassy-eyed and grinning inanely= commenting on how their 'old' job wouldnt allow the luxury of time off with sick kids blah blah blah.
Actually it did - as in line with policy. Unfortunately some people are just bone idle and dont want to do real work. Im sure the lure of a job that encourages sitting around eating and drinking in starbucks all day is overwhelming.

OlafLovesAnna · 10/11/2015 07:05

A bloke at work started with this nonsense yesterday - an actual HCP telling me about 'cleansing' by not eating and drinking a special shake!

ambler21 · 10/11/2015 16:36

Someone mentioned a while back about images of the coopers dream aussie home on SC's facebook....
Heres the estate agent listing
www.homesales.com.au/buy/4-aztec-island-retreat/hs2019763.aspx

Of course, as we all know, 'dreaming' of a new home is a convenient way to post images of luxury cars / houses / jewellery / etc and give the impression of an extravagant lifestyle without actually buying a thing. It fits in perfectly with the mindset training which involves daily ritualised goal setting and focusing on these dream items.

BTW original image was found using a useful site that does reverse image searches.
tineye.com/
just open up an image to full size, right click and copy image URL and paste into tineye. I believe it only works on PC or android, not sure about ios. It comes in useful for checking if someones actually taken a pic or used a stock image and also shows where it appears on the web.

ambler21 · 10/11/2015 16:43

I've just noticed there are browser plugins on the main page for most browsers, safari as well for those on ipads
tineye.com/plugin?plugin=safari

lastuseraccount123 · 10/11/2015 17:45

looked at the house. am I the only one who thinks it's hideous inside? kinda feels like a ferry

lastuseraccount123 · 10/11/2015 17:58

i mean a ferry for a few people, obviously

CheekySmile · 10/11/2015 19:13

Ha! I've been peeking at so many FLbot pages that FB is now actually suggesting ones I've never seen before as pages I might like!
