Just read that thread and yet again the usual memes popping up. What on earth makes them think that people aren't already in their dream job and following their dreams.

It is the usual 'MLM is the only way to be happy' what kind of woo goes on to make them all think like this.

Do these people have an hourly search or something set up on MN/NM et al to facilitate these "pounces"...?

Is this what the huns are doing in their gardens with their glasses or wine while their bubbas play at their feet...?

Mentioned the book Ive just read, Merchants of deception, on the thread. Hopefully someone will take notice of us. Its all very scarey stuff.

mobius interesting to see the sad 'kind permission' thing is doing the rounds. I've not liked it as I know too much about this con - to give this any legitimacy would not be a kind thing to do for my friend. She will learn. She's a lawyer. I've got a theory as to why so many intelligent-types get sucked in.

I did ask mnhq if they might consider making an advice sheet about MLM but I've not heard back.

Read all of MoD the other week, thanks to this (or a previous MLM) thread.

Fascinating read. Wanted to slap the guy at several intervals, particularly at the start.

But freely admit that's with the benefit of knowing MLM for what it is - he was going in blind. Naive, yes. But blind.

It's quite long, but I just couldn't.stop.reading ... You will all find it fascinating after being part of this thread.

The problem we have is that those who know little about mlm will be unlikely to bother reading it.

The sad fact is that you hear/learn about it either through trying to warn a loved one against it, or if you have already been love bombed and are only interested in finding reassuring positive 'research' that tells you what you want to hear (Even more so if you've already parted with your money!)

Reading 318 pages of a TRUE horror story won't be of interest at this point and you will likely choose to ignore and deny its existence.

Someone made the very good point that despite 'intelligence' or previous career, many people are simply a product of a previously honest environment so will be equally as trusting when presented with an 'exciting business opportunity' from someone they already know & trust. It's amazingly clever in its evilness!!

Does anyone know how much they actually make? Or how much they end up out of pocket? (how long is a piece of string?! )

I can sort of see the appeal of younique as some people obviously do spend a fair amount on makeup anyway. Not 25 quid on a mascara in my world, but I know some people can and do (although I have no idea of the quality of their products!) Is it just a 'posher' Avon?

I can't get my head around this FL malarkey at all though.

Mistybells they make the payment plans as opaque as possible so it's very difficult to work out how much people really make.

If you haven't already, it's worth reading back over the old threads - we go into a lot of this stuff in them. We even had a bot come and try and tell us how we were wrong about FL, but like all bots when the rubber hit the road she couldn't explain away the lies so she left.

Why can't I get it on kindle?
Do I need to get physical book form?

I don't know the credentials of this website, and it's Herbalife not FL, but interesting average earnings shown. 57% make less than $299 (and it only includes people who have a 'downline'.
Well that income is easily eroded by training, pro planners, sample products...

I've added a bit more factual information on the other thread in regards to a particular MLM that was operating in the US until closed down after an in-depth financial investigation.

Hopefully it is a final nail in the coffin of the MLM "dream" fantasy that was briefly promoted by Dalida (though I note that both its posts have been deleted anyway ), and the OP can find an effective way of making money from home.

I started reading it last night. I downloaded the pdf onto my kindle and it's working fine.

I'm annoyed though, he isn't talking about how much he earns!
