Hi Betty - hope I didn't sound patronising! As I understand it bots must do 2CC per month (that's £172 wholesale, thx t2b2wee) in order to stay in FL and get bonuses. If the sell these 2CCs at retail there will be £52 gross profit. Out of that comes all the tools, training, starter kit, postage etc. If you recruit downline you get a extra % of their turnover. The more CCs you sell through your line the higher up the pins (manager levels) go.
For £500 orders (if you believe that!) there would be £150 profit if all sold at full retail. The only way to get good volume is to recruit others who must do 2CC per month. Of course most of the 2CC is personal use, as you are emphasised to do by the videos. And if your recruits are believers, they will purchase themselves. Not sure how high you are to benefit from the seminar profits: its kept pretty secret I'm sure.

Cheekysmile, an offline bot, how unusual lol. What I dont understand is,why would you want to do any mlm when you have such a good job like a solicitor. Its not exactly a dead end job, I would imagine its a good paid job. She must have been through university. I wonder if she wants to "sack the boss". I really hope not it would be such a waste. I hear of Teachers, Police Officers, Mid-Wives etc, getting sucked into this crap and ending up "sacking the boss". Now these are Careers not just jobs that these bots have actually decided to do, why would you pick these Careers if you really were not happy doing them. These Mlms are so clever and very dangerous how they manipulate people. I think its such a shame and a terrible wasteSad

CheekySmile · 07/09/2015 15:42

An amazing moment at 4.05 in the second video that Skye posted on Friday, when Jayne Leach pretty much calls FL a cult!!

CheekySmile · 07/09/2015 15:44

I agree Annie one of my FLbots is harping on about a teacher on her team who's planning on resigning at Christmas.

This flyer finally gave DP a proper insight into FL though, after weeks of me talking about it. He said 'this flyer should be saying "buy my shit" not "come and work with me to sell my shit"'!

Badders123 · 07/09/2015 15:52

My (then) fiancée and I went to a few amway meetings in the late 90s until we realised it was bollocks.
The guy who "recruited" dh was a dentist and just before we stopped going 2 married paediatric consultants joined up.
All it did was cost us money so we stopped.
But of course, we were told we just "didnt work hard enough"
Hmm

lazycoo · 07/09/2015 16:15

annie plenty of people doing these jobs are unhappy - you pick your direction when you're 16/17 years old, filling out your UCAS form for uni. It's not surprising many want a new direction. Also, the professions leave you highly trained in a certain area but often without transferable skills. This can make you feel trapped.

I think the reason why the cons ensnare so many professionals is that these are people used to working with complex rule systems and hierarchies. The more rules = the more legitimate the system. And almost nobody in their chosen profession understands all the rules so it follows that they might accept that they won't understand all the rules of the MLM.

Also, professionals are used to spotting problems. By making these schemes so complex, it shuts down that rational analytical side of the brain. The professional thinks they've done their risk analysis and signs up gladly, completely unaware they've been just as conned as anyone else.

Badders123 · 07/09/2015 16:17

I think that's spot on.

Badders123 · 07/09/2015 16:18

MLC thing maybe?

Annie65 · 07/09/2015 16:25

Cheekysmile, haha I had to watch the video, was very funnyGrin

lastuseraccount123 · 07/09/2015 19:28

wow fascinating analysis lazycoo.

It's also interesting the number of people on these threads who checked into an MLM but something about it didn't add up. Maybe professionals, being so trained to think rationally, have shut down that instinctive gut feeling some of us get when something doesn't feel right.

Bettyberry, I was looking at the American site. You are right, it is different on the British one. Seems fairer here. Although still a complete con.

lazycoo · 07/09/2015 19:56

I'm a solicitor. I'm just trying to analyse the process by which the Arbonne-bots got me!

xenu1 · 07/09/2015 21:40

lazycoo: " think the reason why the cons ensnare so many professionals is that these are people used to working with complex rule systems and hierarchies."
Great analysis. Also those in teaching-style jobs have never met people who lie to them. That is, professionals expect that pay is guaranteed (if not "unlimited" :) ) and work is rewarded. Meeting the MLM high-pins is different... and (specially Amway) many are recruited through religious congregations.

bettyberry · 07/09/2015 22:34

xenu1 no, not at all. Just clarifying for others my workings. I get the sucking in and making recruits buy products so essentially the uplines are making money of the downlines buying the products for themselves and very little actual outside repeat business. My Bot is forever Wink using them and writing pretty poor reviews of the products on her page.

Toobusytowee Its something to do with MLM rules here I think. You are right, It is still a con. I'm just trying to get my head around the entire thing and how it is set up.

I feel Like I need to do a little bit of investigative journalism again! It has been a while though.

bettyberry · 07/09/2015 22:41

Bot update. Attack of the huns!

** to clarify It was posted on a public FB page open to all not a private convo.

LittleMissStubborn · 08/09/2015 23:30

That is actually what annoys me the most, our lives are shit and we have no money cos we aren't part of a mlm, somehow the ptb convince them that everyone else hates their job. I actually quite like my job though the commute is a different matter

lastuseraccount123 · 08/09/2015 23:35

i quite like my job too.

OP posts:
LittleMissStubborn · 08/09/2015 23:47

Was it a good office view?

Does it rival my disused pub? Wink

lastuseraccount123 · 09/09/2015 00:10

here's the thing. her view is of her ipad as she chats up customers etc and her kid is beside her in bed, WATCHING A MOVIE.

I'm not judging parenting-by-movie but when you're using it as a sales technique for your MLM to bring in more guilt stricken mums, then yeah, i Judge. I JUDGE BOUCOUP.

Grin because MLM Grin

My FLbot isn't getting any likes for her posts touting for people to join her.

Waiting on my PM complimenting me on DD and wanting to meet up.

tribpot · 09/09/2015 06:50

But what could these emails really contain, given the alleged business is flogging some aloe vera products? They might be orders but methinks in reality these 'emails from customers' are irritated PMs saying 'leave me alone', each of which must be followed up so that the irritated ex-friend may one day become a customer.

stopfaffing · 09/09/2015 07:05

And do the people reading her posts with interest, perhaps considering getting on board, realise that they too will have to start spouting the same rubbish should they get ensnared in an mlm company?
