Recently an acquaintance emailed me to ask if I could 'help' her by trying a few products and giving her some feedback. Being the nice person I am I agreed. When the bag of samples turned up the penny dropped and i realised that she's trying to sell them to me (I'm naive I know!). I thought id just buy a little bubble bath. Its fucking 14 quid! No way. I'm sending the bag back and pleading eczema. Does this whole company operate by guilting friends and family into purchasing crap quality at ridic prices?

My FLbot is claiming her turnover is £650,000 this year, after starting a year ago ... based on the figures someone was quoting upthread, the others must be turning over fresh air!

MarthasHarbour · 20/06/2015 20:39

Yep my FOF/FLBot has been promoted at success day too - senior manager apparently Hmm

MarthasHarbour · 20/06/2015 20:42

trinity my FLbot turned over £56k last monthGrin

SymphonyofShadows · 20/06/2015 21:17

I love all this talk of promotion when they have supposedly sacked the boss Grin

Hellohellohowareyou · 20/06/2015 21:30

They are also creating the next generation of leaders!!!

Jossysgiants · 20/06/2015 21:39

I am enjoying all the highs of success day via Facebook.

Several family members are FLbots. One is more into it than the others ( she recruited them into her team) and I fear it will not end well.

Peacheykeen · 20/06/2015 21:41

I've just seen a right corker " Monday's don't suck , your job does" gtfo

Melonfool · 20/06/2015 21:55

According to the article someone posted a cash credit is c$132, so the person who posted she had done 22cc had done 22 x $132.

Bambambini · 20/06/2015 22:10

On the netmums thread it's just full of helpful mentors vying to help those finding it hard. It's quite touching how helpful and unselfish they are reaching out like that to others.

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 21/06/2015 00:38

This thread must be magical. I have a newly fledged FL FB friend. I wil watch in awe and wonder.

ChablisLover · 21/06/2015 00:47

I have a friend advocating scentsy- seems to be candles blah blah blah
I like watching the selling ( with accompanying poor English and grammar - yes flame me but I've had wine but please if you want to sell something please speak English not text speak

lastuseraccount123 · 21/06/2015 03:25

I think this thread is magical. I'm so happy it's bringing FLbots to those mumsnetters in need Grin

SandraMelandra · 21/06/2015 07:50

I've been watching this thread with interest for a while now, as one of my genuinely lovely friends has been sucked in. Sad Sad

I saw her last week and she looked knackered. She has a new baby and a full time job, but she always seems to be flitting off on training days and then this big shin dig in London that everyone else has been to.

God knows how much she has spent on it all. Sad Sad

And the Facebook thing too. She doesn't seem to care that the only people who like or comment on the irritatingly positive statuses, or photos of the baby with product placementAngry are flbots too.

Wondered if I should show her this thread, but she's probably seen it already. The netmums thread have stopped posting now they know this is here it seems.

Hi

From the excellent site posted on this thread (not by me! :))
mlmtheamericandreammadenightmare.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/forever-living-products-flp-is-mlm.html

I noted this official clip for a London recognition event:

www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=IleCCat9mP0

Only 5 mins. Well worth a view. Note the "You have to be there to be successful", "its the monthly board meeting" - type quotes. I'd love to know what a dupe/delegate pays for this event...

(usually board members are paid to attend a meeting? :))

trinitybleu · 21/06/2015 09:13

According to my FLbot they were giving away yellow suitcases ... which they then dragged onto the Tube ... surely if you're turning over £650k you can afford a cab?!?

Thereyouarepeter · 21/06/2015 09:19

well a turn over of £650k is irrelevant if you have spent £651k.

DinosaursRoar · 21/06/2015 09:22

oh I've seen photos of yellow suitcases on FB from FL types, what does that mean then?

funkybuddah · 21/06/2015 11:53

Just looked at my bot (I don't know this one but she recruited someone I do and has a page rather than profile) and I had to laugh at the picture of her at the entrance to the ExCel centre which looks like a pyramid.

playftseforme · 21/06/2015 11:58

Someone on the mn local Surrey page has just posted a recruitment ad for fl...

TalcumMucker · 21/06/2015 12:56

Wow Xenu that video is amazing! The phrase 'remotivating' is like saying they need to top up the brainwashing regularly in case the bots come to their senses Sad

LittleMissStubborn · 21/06/2015 12:57

I have lots of smiley pictures from yesterday on my fb too. Mine has truly been sucked into the FL world. Obviously I want her to do well at what she is doing but it also doesn't sit right. By all accounts her manager/upline is doing quite well and this is where I get confused. Some people seemingly do well, they do 'get' a car, and go on holidays and seem to be able to do it full time but how when the figures just don't seem to allow for 32k salaries and bonuses? It makes my head hurt thinking about it.
My FB/FLbot is probably ideal 'pickings' - low confidence, often verbalises how she wished she could have more time at home - and from the outside looking in it basically seems she was chased/worn down until she said yes. On the surface it seems she is doing ok and she seems happy doing it, it is all very confusing.

TalcumMucker · 21/06/2015 13:00

And I've just checked out my FLbots page, and sure enough she was at the success day too with pics from their hotel room near ExCEL which wouldn't have been cheap. Still not a single post on her page about the products that she sells.

I'm just wondering who her 2 year old and 9 week old are spending the weekend with...

I can understand your confusion! Its mostly "fake it till you make it" MLM bots are taught to lie about how successful they are and this goes all the way up. In "Merchants of Deception" Mr Scheibeler got to Emerald and appeared onstage, but still went bust (because he was too honest to join in the tools/events profits)
From the FL video above (which is designed to get distributors to attend the next events of course) just think how much money is made by the organisers - Amway charged $300 for "Dream Weekend" and got 10k delegates, that's $3million for the upline organisers to divide, after expenses. And the delegates go home "fired up" and indoctrinated...

I'd love to know what the delegates are charged for these events? Anyone want to ask their FBFL "friends"? :)

LittleMissStubborn · 21/06/2015 13:48

I guess most people would presume the event was free. After all I don't have to pay to go to my works success do. And that then gives the impression of a wonderful company. Even at £25 a head, plus all the things they sell there, a couple of thousand attendees and it soon adds up.

There is still a part of my non-rational brain that wonders if I am missing out and that I guess is the secret of their success.

Eyespying · 21/06/2015 15:02

This big London FLP event was £30 just for a ticket, but then you've got to add all the travelling, accomodation, etc.

events.my-flp.com/global_rally_london_2014/event72.html

At the event, the FLP believers will have also been obliged to buy 'positive thinking' publications, recordings, etc., in order to 'succeed.'

20 000 FLP believers paid to go to Singapore this year to hear all the same 'positive thinking = success' bullshit.

These disturbing events are generating many millions of dollars annually; whilst absolutely nothing is free in groups like FLP and all these big MLM companies are fronts for exactly the same cult-style frauds.

The joke is that, at all these events, the illusion of the 'success' paradise is financed with the rank and file MLM believers' own cash, but they just can't see it because they are forbidden to think 'negative' thoughts - i.e add up their net-losses and face the reality they've been conned.
