I've been sucked into forever living!! Why do I feel like the bad guy?

Recently an acquaintance emailed me to ask if I could 'help' her by trying a few products and giving her some feedback. Being the nice person I am I agreed. When the bag of samples turned up the penny dropped and i realised that she's trying to sell them to me (I'm naive I know!). I thought id just buy a little bubble bath. Its fucking 14 quid! No way. I'm sending the bag back and pleading eczema. Does this whole company operate by guilting friends and family into purchasing crap quality at ridic prices?

"So hpw do the holidays work? I am stalking an FLbot on our local FB selling page and she is wittering on about going on an all expenses paid trip to cancun and is taking her newest recruit with her (also all expenses paid) . How can this even be possible if you have only just become a bot?

Surely they must have to pay - but why kid yourself it is all expenses?"

I guess all the gloating and talking about how great it is, is actually just promoting the brand to get more folk on board. There is no other reason why they would be doing this - it's to entice new people to their team.

I saw two white range rovers today - now I keep wondering if they are FL agents.

ATrueNerd · 15/06/2015 13:41

Wow, Skye, £4k! That's crazy that they could ask someone to pay out that much, I wonder if Everyone has to spend that much or if it varies..? Pure evil, how have they not been shut down!!

KindergartenKop · 15/06/2015 13:45

I saw Ms FL at the weekend. She thanked me for my feedback (I had emailed her to decline the stuff and mentioned the confusing branding etc) and that was a bit awkward, but otherwise she didn't mention it.

It makes me sad really because all a lot of these women are trying to achieve is a work/life balance in order to spend time with their kids!

He was so gullible that they talked him into it. The more he bought the bigger the discount, the higher the level he would be at, blah blah blah. They were more concerned with him recruiting others though than selling the actual product.

They really saw him coming. he is totally gullible and falls for every get rich quick scam going. We had only just met then, but I stopped him from doing anything once we had been together for a while! He has gone right back to it now though.

He also did Kleeneze - again more concerned with recruiting other sellers and the products were shite and always being returned.

He paid a fortune for a letter and 1000 addresses to send out to people saying how they could make a fortune. he had to send out 1000 copies so also bought 1000 envelopes/stamps. He had just one reply and a cheque for £25!

I am wondering if this thread should be moved somewhere. It is the most informative MLM thread going (and i have seen people referred to it over the last few days). The Chat threads go poof after 90 days. I dont think it is a 'classics' thread but should be somewhere else. Any ideas?

My FLbot that i am stalking is today holding up a cheque for $16k saying how lovely it will be to get this bonus in 3 years time Hmm so that is what £10k, in three years time, so that is approx - £3k per year. OK so not to be sniffed at, but what a way to suck people in for the next three years...

bamba i know what you mean but i cant get why these people actually believe that they are going on an all expenses paid holiday - they MUST have to pay, and when they realise that they have been scammed they still seem to hang on to the 'dream' Hmm

HalleLouja · 15/06/2015 15:10

I have some FL moisturising serum and quite like it.

I think the C9 thing is bollocks though.

I do want a FLFB friend now.

lastuseraccount123 · 15/06/2015 15:41

My FL stalkee just posted she's been promoted and is going on a trip to Lanzarote! She's so glad she went for her dream!

I really don't get how the holidays work. Do they have a bunker on each holiday island to send their bots to? I know the owners invest all their cash in property Grin

MissBattleaxe · 15/06/2015 17:41

A quick google shows 2.5b turnover with 9.5m active reps

Further back in the thread this was worked out at $333 per rep. That amounts to about £217, which is about the cost of the start up pack.

I think they should be shut down personally.

MerdeAlor · 15/06/2015 18:33

MarthasHarbour I agree, it would be a shame for this to disappear.

You could report your own post and ask MNHQ to move it wherever they think is best.

This made for an interesting read.
A posts in from someone called lexi who was a FL rep

DreamingOfTheBeach · 15/06/2015 20:19

Sorry the link doesn't work if you click on it, but if you copy and past the whole text then it does

lastuseraccount123 · 15/06/2015 20:20

great link dreaming.

it's kind of fascinating to me in an anthropological way watching my FLbot. Her latest post is about 'why work 9-5 for no reward when you do do this?"

really? 9-5 with NO reward?

exLtEveDallasNoBollocks · 15/06/2015 20:33

I have a new one. I've got one FL friend, but she isn't actually annoying, hardly ever posts and hasn't tried the hard sell on me. She does extol the virtues of Aloe, but also tells people to plant and harvest their own.

However today I have had this text 3 times from another friend:

Good morning !! Please can you come to XXX and XXX launch party for FROST Aesthetics. It's a new fat freezing treatment that has been scientifically proven to work ! There are massive discounts for treatments on the evening and host party offers as well

"fat freezing"? WTF?

SymphonyofShadows · 15/06/2015 20:57

I just googled that fat freezing. Apparently it freezes the fat 'causing it to die' the body then gradually expels it. Grin

marshmallowpies · 15/06/2015 21:01

Money matters might be a good place for this one?

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/06/2015 21:03

Wouldnt freezing fat cause large scale frost bite?.

Reminds me of patients who are having treatment for diabetic foot ulcers and ask if we cant just dip it in boiling tar or stick a red hot poker on it like they used to in the olden days.

SymphonyofShadows · 15/06/2015 21:07

That's what I thought!

bumbleymummy · 15/06/2015 21:24

fat freezing?!

SymphonyofShadows · 15/06/2015 21:41

It makes your money evaporate

SwitchItOffAndOnAgain · 15/06/2015 23:29

Testing

SwitchItOffAndOnAgain · 15/06/2015 23:33

I'm not a FLbot but I have a friend who is...no really Hmm
This is the heat lotion I bought from her, it does work much like deep heat, smells like deep heat but costs four times as much Blush

I've been sucked into forever living!! Why do I feel like the bad guy?
SwitchItOffAndOnAgain · 15/06/2015 23:40

Let me just zoom in on the ingredients...

PausingFlatly · 16/06/2015 00:01

Well. I spent a rainy afternoon last week reading the paper Xenu linked, "Merchants of Deception". It was sobering.

More direct link here: www.transgallaxys.com/~emerald/DOWNLOADBOOK.html

Sadly, it answers in all too much detail how the holidays get paid for, and the "training" meetings and materials. And just what it does for one's work-life balance.

That one's about Amway, but the other pyramids on this thread sound oh-so-familiar.

LilyBobtail · 16/06/2015 00:24

Our gas and electricity was supplied by Utility Warehouse when we moved in. I didn't realise they were dodgy. Changed to a different provider straight away but they kept billing me for months!
