It seems very wrong they can make these decisions without giving you appropriate notice and an opportunity to appeal further. A letter written on the 20th which is that important should be delivered.on the 21st not stuck in their backlog. These are people's lives they're messing with.

tgirl14 · 26/03/2015 17:06

Oh that's terrible Morgan Confused. Doesn't sound to good for me then. I get paid monthly and not due for another two weeks so I will probably get letter before I notice money not in. Its a shambles the lot of it. Don't think they realise they are playing with peoples lives especially those most vulnerable!!

tgirl14 · 26/03/2015 17:07

Oh and I got my phone call the 20th so I would imagine decision was made the same day Hmm

Morgan97 · 26/03/2015 19:44

Disgraceful and disgusting is what they are, they don't care I have no money except from my part time job and child benefit they couldn't care less that I can't afford to stay where I am as I can't afford my share of the bills so now I shall soon be homeless this is one of the worst weeks if my life

AdmiralCLingus · 27/03/2015 13:14

Youre not alone morgan. Ive just come off the phone to them and they say they dont have enough evidence. Apparently our maintainence agreement hasnt been considered despite it being in the pack with everything else I sent and now we have nothing to live off until they send it back and i can appeal

i feel physically sick and am shaking

tgirl14 · 27/03/2015 16:05

Well I'm no further on phoned today and the man I spoke to didn't have a clue just said yes decision made last Friday but post takes ages to get back to you. I asked will it be returned recorded delivery he said oh no it just goes back in the normal post. I said but I've bank statements etc his reply well they will get back to you eventually maybe next Friday!!! he also said your expecting them back far too early and we have 1000's of documents we can't track them all. I ended the call flabbergasted I had just spoken to a government office. If I still haven't got anything Monday I will be ringing back to speak to someone different.

Morgan97 · 27/03/2015 16:54

Oh my goodness Admiral isn't it an awful situation to be in,I still haven't received anything back, let alone a letter telling my that my wtc and ctc has been stopped, I HAD to ring them yesterday after I checked my bank that's how I found out. Now I face being homeless as the person who's house I share has told me I have to leave if I can't contribute to the bills!! Can my week get any worse,I'm going to the CAB on Monday to see if they can help, seems like nobody cares what happens. The guy I spoke to yesterday actually said to me oh you can make a joint claim it doesn't matter that you're not a couple!!! What on earths that about,I've been penalized for being truthful and now encouraged to tell a lie by government staff. Beans on toast for me and my daughter for the time being. Yes Karo a letter as Important as this should be delivered the next day it's disgraceful. And tgirl when you got the phone call did they give any indication of their decision?

tgirl14 · 27/03/2015 17:02

Whenever I was called last Friday her words were I will close the enquiry and your payments will continue so I assumed that meant my claim would stay the same but I want a letter confirming it as after today I wouldn't trust them at all. The fella today was as much use as a chocolate teapot!! They should send all important notifications out first class. He said that there post goes out second class but that should stillonly take 2-3 days!!

Morgan97 · 27/03/2015 18:06

Pleased to hear your outcome tgirl you will get a letter they just take their time, they couldn't care less about the stress they cause. If their post goes out second class then it shouldn't take more that three days. My letter went out on the 20th (last Friday) but I got an extra payment for child tax credits on the same day, doesn't make sense I truly believe they haven't got a clue what they're doing. That doesn't help me though but luckily I didn't touch the extra payment of £60 I got last week so at least we can eat if I'm careful what I buy. Although I really don't feel like eating I'm so upset,I've always been a positive person but this has broken me down.

Ohmymg · 27/03/2015 18:25

morgan have you complained??

Ring the helpline and ask to complain, say you are under threat of eviction and are stressed. The helpline is open until 8

Morgan97 · 27/03/2015 18:55

Ohmymg I had my letter re another adult from the tax credits office not concentrix I don't think they are open now until Monday but I shall find out. Like I said they don't care what happens to me or anyone else. I sent them a covering letter with my documents explaining that without tax credits I would be unable to pay my way so would be made homeless they are saying I'm part of a couple which I'm not,I don't know how I can prove I'm not and that's part of the problem. They don't believe me but I've told the truth.

Morgan97 · 27/03/2015 20:46

Well what a surprise I've spent the last hour trying to get through and guess what the lines are now closed, constantly engaged for just under an hour even more stressed than normal now. I'm shaking and feel like I've been kicked in the stomach I need a break from this before I go mad

Ohmymg · 27/03/2015 20:46

The compliance team will have stopped your payments and won't be there until Monday probably but you can still ring helpline and ask to complain.

I'd imagine they have stopped it due to RTI information- live payment info from your employer. If you have had holidays/sick pay then your pay to date for year may look like you work less hours- ask if this is case.

Ask to speak to a manager on helpline, state u will be evicted and this is causing you stress- they will take it seriously if you push them.

It's shit, and it shouldn't happen

Morgan97 · 27/03/2015 21:04

Ohmymg,I've checked on my pay slips and the amount for the year is almost as much as my p60 last year, although I've changed jobs in the last six months. I'm going to the CAB on Monday to see if they can shed any light on this for me. It's really making me feel ill and I don't like the way I'm feeling. I know I'm not on my own with this but I feel so alone if that makes sense. The tax credits people are actually saying I'm in a relationship when I'm not I don't know how to prove this to them my heads spinning.

Ohmymg · 27/03/2015 21:06

CAB is a good place to start- ask them about the enhanced support team on tax credits- it may be of help to you. I'll keep checking back, I really hope you get it sorted quickly

Morgan97 · 27/03/2015 21:35

Thank you Ohmymg, ill put a post on here after I've been to the CAB although I don't hold out much hope, seriously losing faith in this country and its government, penalized for being single parents through no fault of our own,and being truthful. Easy to pick on the vulnerable people in this country. Unbelievable

ccbb1 · 28/03/2015 09:35

Morgan what area do you live in as there are other groups in my area that help with these type situations other than citizens advice .

Morgan97 · 28/03/2015 09:51

I live in Lancashire ccbb1, I've searched on the Internet but can't find anyone else to help.

Lambylostit · 28/03/2015 12:18

Morgan this is just a thought but maybe they think the person you share the house with is your partner? if they are on the electrol role this may me the case

Morgan97 · 28/03/2015 20:30

Lambylostit, yes he is on the electoral roll,I've never hidden the fact another adult lives in the same house as me,as I've said in a previous post I had the same letter two or three years ago I have nothing to hide I've been honest with them and now they've stopped my money and left me with nothing. I explained my living arrangement to them in detail, including the fact we have separate food cupboards etc etc,I share a bedroom with my 11 year old they don't care about my situation they just don't believe me but I can't send them anything else I've sent all I've got really don't know what I can do. Oh and I still haven't got a letter back from the compliance team which was sent on 20th march,I did receive a letter today dated 23rd march from tax credits telling me my claim is closed though,I think someone there is telling lies as I was told a letter was sent on the 20th!!!

sugamama73 · 30/03/2015 12:51

ive finally had the letter ive been waiting for saying there will be no changes to my tax credit even tho I new I wasn't doing anything wrong the letter I received at 1st saying may have an adult living with me I sent everything off they asked for and got my stuff back 2 weeks later with a letter saying they will let me no if any future action would be taken well ive now had the letter saying all ok I don't mind admitting I actually cried reading that one line with relief been so worried thought id share this with you lovely people

Morgan97 · 30/03/2015 13:16

Finally something positive,I'm so pleased for you sugarmama73,still stressing as mine have stopped completely but felt I had to comment in reply to your post x

tgirl14 · 30/03/2015 13:35

That's great news sugarmama I'm sure you are relieved. I still haven't got a letter that was sent on 20th. What was the date on your letter?

tgirl14 · 30/03/2015 14:12

Oh it just gets better. Phoned there today and I have been told decision was only made 27th March!! Even though the girl on the phone on 20th told me it was made that day so notification only went out Friday. They have assured me my claim doesn't need amended and payments will continue but again said docs have only gone out regular post. I told her I have a lot of personal information in it she said well call us next week if you haven't got it. I swear the right hand doesn't know what the left hands doing. Did you get any further on Morgan?

tgirl14 · 30/03/2015 14:13

Oh and they never asked me any security questions either!!
