The latest letter I received was dated 24th February but didn't receive it until the 6th March and only have until 15th to send more bank statements off. I'm still not convinced my statements will prove I'm single though

Morgan97 · 09/03/2015 07:57

I thought that about sending bank statements, how can they prove you're single, when I questioned this I was told they need to see I'm financially independent so why not say that in the first place, after making another phone call Was told yes send bank statements,so more expense, more worry n now realized I've forgotten to send my savings account statement. Never ending stress I need a good nights sleep.

Katy69 · 09/03/2015 08:34

I contacted them this morning and was dreading it . I spoke to an extremely kind , helpful man. . All good news and no change of tax credits . A letter was sent out to me last week so just waiting . I queried him about the letter saying "may have evidence another adukt living here " , how do they get this information..?. . It's flagged up on to the system that there could possiby be another adult at the address . Especially rented accomodation . And 9/10 times it's usullay mail that comes from previous tenant . So they just have to check. Funny thing is ive lived here for almost 10 years and never had any mail . Maybe once or twice when I first moved in . Anyhow I'm sure in most cases it's only something simple . Still it's very unfair the way they have frightened people . The letter is worded very wrong . Just by changing it in not such a harsh way can make so much differnce . I'm sure most people are going to be ok.

I received a letter on 23rd Jan & this has been on-going since then. I called last Monday 2 Mar but there was still nothing showing on their screen to say if a decision had been reached. I then got a call back around an hour later saying that everything was OK & that a letter saying this would now be sent & my paperwork I sent to them weeks ago would also be returned.
The letter I have now received was very brief: We have completed our check on your tax credits award to 5 April 2015. We spoke to you on 02 Mar 2015 (yes but only because I called them). I have reviewed the information you gave us and do not need to amend your award. If you have an advisor acting for you, please show them this letter.
Then the usual couple lines about Concentrix working for HMRC. & if I needed to contact them to quote my NI number & case number. It was not signed just ended Yours sincerely Concentrix, so I've no idea who actually sent it.
I was told on the phone last week that they use information from credit reference agencies etc going back 10+ years to get these 'partners' names. The documents we send to them are scanned onto their system & any copy bills/statements (because of on-line banking) they shred & do not return, they only return any original documents. All well & good but I am still waiting, documents were sent 26 Jan & still not received back. Also that this check was for this years award only & it was possible that it could happen again for next year or any other year in the future if a claim is made.

Lumptysmum · 09/03/2015 10:12

Maidofkent24 it might take a while to get your documents back. I had to send mine by 24th December and only received them back last week. Still no letter regarding the decision though. Which will all have to change again anyway as DS3 has arrived! Hmm

SWLady01 · 09/03/2015 18:15

I haven't received my documents back yet either, though the letter from them saying that nothing was going to change was received here over two weeks ago.

exmrs · 10/03/2015 09:53

Who do you complain to HMRC or concentrix if your bank statements and all your important documents arrive in an envelope ripped right open for the postman to see?
Also my tenancy document has been ripped apart I presume for photocopyin/ scanning , not happy

Katy69 · 10/03/2015 10:11

Yes my tenancy document also ripped apart . Couldn't they staple it back like how it was originally sent out.?

Loulicious15 · 10/03/2015 11:44

i too received a letter however its in regards to childcare, i haven't claimed childcare in nearly 8 months as unfortunately i lost my job back in September. I have spoke to HMRC who are telling me that even though concentrix are working for them they are not allowed to discuss the cases being dealt with by concentrix which I find odd considering HMRC are supposedly the ones issuing these checks. I've placed a complaint with HMRC as I have never gave permission for 3rd parties to deal with my personal information. The letters are very threatening and I am not a bit happy. I don't have any issue to provide the information its the way they've gone about asking for it.

Rachelnottingham · 10/03/2015 16:44

Hello,
Today I rang HMRC tax credits to tell them of a pay increase I have received. I was on hold for 20 mins, only to be told my case was at Concentrix and they couldn't talk to me. I rang concentrix who told me they had sent a letter out in December... not received. They want proof of the hours I work as I have put down 30 hours. I put down 30 hours as some weeks I do 25 others I do 35. Being investigated as made me feel sick to the bone. My son had his leg amputated in January so again my hours have been all over the place. I worked in the evening and weekends during Feb to cover the hours I've missed. I'm really worried about this. As anyone else come across this problem.

Thank you Stressed Rachel x

YouPooPooBumBum · 10/03/2015 18:09

I hope your son is recovering well and that you are ok Rachel.
I am sure you really don't need all this stress on top of what you have been through.
Concentrix you had better read all this!
You should be ashamed! Angry AngryAngry

Ed1982 · 11/03/2015 14:22

Has anybody sent in a written statement from their childcare provider as proof of payments?

YouPooPooBumBum · 11/03/2015 14:57

I sent invoices and bank statements for childcare cost proof.

BlooMoon · 11/03/2015 19:37

And what really pisses me off about all this is that (for the childcare costs cases, anyway), all it needs is for someone at HMRC to look at the original claim, check the provider details with the Ofsted website, ring the provider up, and ask them to confirm the child's attendance and the weekly cost. Simple. 5 minute job. Done.

It must be costing a huge amount of money for all these letters and documents to be posted around the country, photocopied/scanned, scrutinised... What a waste. I'd rather my taxes were spent on helping people who needed it, not providing business and profit for a private company, especially one who cause such a lot of stress for claimants, the majority of whom I'm sure are honest and hardworking people.

Ed1982 · 11/03/2015 20:59

Thanks Yoopoopoobumbum I don't recieve invoices or recipts. I sign a weekly register when I pay cash. My childminder has offered to write a letter with a breakdown of costs for me so I just wondered if any one else had don't the same.

Morgan97 · 11/03/2015 21:24

Well said BlooMoon,I'm sure we all agree with you it's a total waste of time, energy and paper, not to mention the stress we are all going though. Can't believe I've not heard anything back yet, more sleepless nights and the waiting continues

Howes68 · 13/03/2015 12:08

Dickon is for real.
I've had dealings with him in the past on a totally different finance related matter after I was featured in a National Newspaper.

Private Eye have been picking up on this thread so he is following along from that.

Morgan97 · 13/03/2015 16:51
