We are screwed finiacally.

ok, i know i am spendaholic, and need to stop. i have over 8k of unsecured debt. most of that was from before Peter fell ill, some of it is due to spiraling costs with him being in hospital. All payments are being met, but now dd2 dla has stopped (we are going for reconsideration), tax credits will go down (not sure how much by) and i could well have screwed up massively. I can clear over 2-3k straight away if i sell my car and my collectin of bears. But Peter says not to, as we wont get their full worth. But i dont know what to do. I am pulling the belt in as much as possible (all i need to buy for the next week or so is veggies, milk and some bread ingrediants.) and will be ebaying anything that stays in one place too long. but I am so annoyed that i got too complacent again. Its so easy to bid on things without thinking and paypal it. i want to shut down my paypal account but i dont know if thats possible. DD2 could well be reinstated within 11weeks(!!!) but i know they could just refuse it totally.

I dont know if i want advice or just a rant.

its a fucking playhouse, its not like i went and got a 3k loan to have fun with. in fact, i could say that dd1 dla paid for it. i have 8k of debt, i am not at IVA or bankrupcy stage, i am just fed up of an overdraft. i want that gone. deciding whether to put bears up as a big lot or seperatly. 1st one has gone up, thats worth 70pounds on its own.

and btw nutcracker, my bills are being paid, its not a case of, 'oh i wont pay that and go spend the cash' i saved for the playhouse, paid cash. iut was hard work. yes maybe the moeny shouldve gone towards paying off my overdraft, but I want my kids to have fun inbetween trailing to the hospital. if only me and peter had just split up, it'll be a lot easier on them, they have seen their dad at deaths door. At least if we were just seperated they'd be able to go and play with him and have fun.

As far as I could see, Misdee was saying she is not totally cleaned out financially, but is having a bit of a tight time because of the DLA problem. As well as being generally a bit stretched. Nothing more, nothing less. She has taken lots of good suggestions as to how to aquire money and cut expenditure, been busy in getting her financial act together, and has a differnce of opinion with a couple of people over the relative costs of a shed v playhouse. (Cod, as a boy-owner myself, I think girls do tend to get more out of playhouses than boys, judging by otheres kids).

if you post a thread, expect advice you don't accept, if you offere advice, don't expect the op to agree with all of it.

Don't make anyone mention a yurt!

You are not financially screwed, you spend to much on stuff you cannot afford and there is a diference.
Yeah your kids deserve nice stuff, IMO so do mine but they know they can't.

Having £10 for a weeks food shop is being financially scrwed, not spending £200 on something you don't actually need.

i think misdee is under an enormous amount of stress and i have a huge amount of admiration for the way she copes. Splitting up from your partner is also incredibly stressful, and there is no point any of us trying to compete in the difficulty stakes. Gets us nowhere. Sad

I have to say I think nutcracker has been very unfairly treated. She is entitled to an opinion and has given hers. She wasn't being nasty at all. When you post you get opinions. That's what a forum board is for! If you don't want opinions don't ask for advice!
