Hello everyone and welcome to the new thread for Round Two!

To recap, the basic rules are:
No chicklit
No abuse memoir type stuff
No horror
No hardbacks

Auto/biography is allowed as long as it?s not anything too obscure (or crap, obviously).

Chocolate to the value of about £2 each time.

Here is the list:
artifarti
aristocat
Dysgu
PistachioLemon
TheBuggerofSuburbia
stickylittlefingers
AgentProvocateur
LolaLadyBird
Itsjustafleshwound
pooter
muddleduck
LadyBee
FlyingMonkey
Maria2007
johnworf

johnworf is a new member so be nice!

As before, please email me at artifarti at hotmail dot co dot uk with the initials of your chosen book and author (e.g. ROTN by TH for Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy) so I can check there are no duplicates. I will assume all your name, address and chocolate details remain the same unless you tell me otherwise (johnworf, please send me yours)

Please do this on or before July 10th. Then I will email you all with the name of the new person you are to post the books to (we are reversing, for anyone that hasn't picked that up.)

No-one has indicated that they want to drop out so I am assuming not at the moment.
I have now read all the books so I am thinking about which was my favourite - so many good ones, a difficult choice.

Oooh, bugger - forgot to say, don't forget to write your MN name in the front of your book (so people know whose book they are reading) If you receive a book that doesn't have a name in this month, please write it in!

LadyBee · 06/08/2010 14:59

Maria I've got my book, it came yesterday - haven't opened the package yet (delayed gratification!) but am excited just seeing it there on the kitchen bench.

Pooter and Flyingmonkey your books were posted today 1st class so I hope you get them in tomorrow's post or very early next week. Apologies for the delay, I thought I had a copy of the book I selected in the house but remembered late that I'd lent it, so had to dash out and get another copy to post...this all took far longer that it should but at least is done now.

Ooh, FlyingMonkey just scrolled up a bit and saw your news - congratulations and commiserations about the morning sickness, hopefully another couple of weeks and it will ease?

RespectTheDoughnut · 07/08/2010 13:36

arti - have received your book. Looks good! Looking forward to getting started :)

pooter · 07/08/2010 16:07

ladybee your book and choccy arrived today. Choccie is my all time fave - thankyou!!

The book looks brilliant - oddly enough a couple of days ago my MIL said she almost bought it for me for my bday.

Will report on it soon....

johnworf · 08/08/2010 15:35

Hi ladies,

Glad you got yours maria2007 Smile I'm back from hols tomorrow so hopefully I'll find something nice on the mat (to read and eat!)

Grin

Catch up soon.
x

AgentProvocateur · 08/08/2010 17:34

Pooter got your book, thanks. A neighbour had taken it in for me. I have read it, but it was yonks ago, so I'll re-read it with pleasure.

artifarti close - Istanbul! It was great. Roasting hot, though.

I think stickylittlefingers is on holiday, so I hope the PO will keep the book until she comes back.

Itsjustafleshwound · 09/08/2010 17:47

Just popped in to say hello and to wish that I was getting some 'nice' post this month!

Happy reading and travels and hopefully will be in a better position to be able to hopefully join the next round ...

LolaLadybird · 09/08/2010 21:43

Itsjusta - I'm also 'spying' on this thread having decided to bow out for a round!

I still have your book and haven't got v far with it having started a few weeks ago. How quickly do you need it back? If you're happy to hang on for a few weeks, I'd still like to give it a go (I promise I won't forget and Arti knows where I live!). Let me know if you want me to return it sooner tho' - shan't be offended.Smile

Itsjustafleshwound · 09/08/2010 21:47

No probs - take as long as you need!

AgentProvocateur · 10/08/2010 08:38

Lola, nice to see you here. I've still got your book. I started it before I went on holiday and forgot to take it with me. Is it ok if I hold onto it for a couple of weeks? I promise I will send it back

LolaLadybird · 10/08/2010 12:36

Hi AgentP - there really is no rush, hang on to it for as long as you want to.

artifarti · 10/08/2010 17:42

Hello Lola and itsjusta - GET OFF THE THREAD, DESERTERS!

Only joking - please do keep saying hello and I promise I will email you next summer to see if you're missing us enough for Round 3...

LolaLadybird · 10/08/2010 22:10

Just hanging around like a bad smell ...Grin

chandellina · 11/08/2010 08:47

Hi JohnWorf - you should definitely have something on your mat - it's from me if you could write in chandellina on it. I was in a bit of a rush at the post office and didn't get to write a note ...

Respect - got your book and already know I love it as I read it a few months back! think i will give it another go, it's a fun book to read. Chocolate has gone down well too.

RespectTheDoughnut · 11/08/2010 09:11

Well I'm glad that you like the book, but sorry that you've already read the very first one you receive! Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about being kicked out for choosing a book which is unanimously hated Grin

With chocolate I wasn't sure if to go for quality or quantity Grin Thought I'd probably alternate a bit, unless you have a preference for cheap & cheerful, or posh chocolate?

chandellina · 11/08/2010 15:16

tbh i probably prefer posh chocolate in small quantity, not to say we have not gotten good mileage out of the big bar! It's already made it into chocolate chip cookies for Maria2007's son's birthday, and chopped into vanilla ice cream for me the past few nights ...

Maria2007loveshersleep · 11/08/2010 15:51

Has it? Good to know :) I just finished off the last of the cookies yesterday!!

johnworf · 11/08/2010 18:57

Hi chandellina Smile

Yep, got your book and choccie. Mucho thankies.

Will put your name on book...no probs.

pooter · 11/08/2010 22:50

ladybee just a quick not to let you know that i am LOVING your book choice!! Thankyou!

stickylittlefingers · 16/08/2010 22:25

Hi, I'm back! agentP I have the book thanks and the extremely yummy looking chocolate. The book looks entirely up my street, so I think I'll be through it fairly swiftly!!

aristocat · 17/08/2010 10:58

Dysgu i am enjoying your book although it is a little different

AgentProvocateur · 17/08/2010 22:16

SLF glad you got the book, and I hope you had a good holiday. I think you will like it, just going by what you liked and disliked last time round. Enjoy!

aristocat · 19/08/2010 12:47

Dysgu have finished your book and i enjoyed it very much.
thank you Smile

Maria2007loveshersleep · 19/08/2010 16:25

Hi everyone, am in Greece now on holiday :) (well as much as we can call it a 'holiday' with a 2 year old). Have taken along the book John Worf sent me (her choice)...looks good so far. Only thing is, I'm only back from Greece 11th of September so unfortunately I'll be delayed in sending the book onwards to Ladybee (will send it sept.13), but I promise to read the next choice v.quickly so I'll have the other book in the post the 1st of October if that makes sense.

Hope everyone is well. It's super hot here in Greece, something like 36 degrees.... am missing the autumney london weather actually!
