Anyone fancy joining a new book swap?

I was wondering if anyone fancied joining me in a new Book Swap. I was part of one on here for a couple of years that worked really well, then we all got a bit busy and decided to give it a rest. Now no-one on MN seems to do them anymore!

The idea is that you get a small group together (up to about a dozen) of people who enjoy reading similar genres or are prepared to try something new. Everyone then chooses a book they have enjoyed, that’s not really famous or a bestseller. On the first day of each month, you post your book to the next person on the list...and then the same again on the following month. We posted chocolate too last time but that’s not compulsory! The idea is that you get to read books you haven’t heard of, and chat about them if you want to.

Some of the books we ended up reading last time: The Water of the Hills, Cutting for Stone, The Snow Child, On The Black Hill, Prince of Tides, The Weather in the Streets, Any Human Heart, Cat’s Eye, A Month in the Country.

Just running in to say I'm knee-deep in writing my end of module essay for uni and I will make a start on my book once it's handed in next week so don't be surprised if you don't hear from me for a bit.

I've been reading the reviews trying to guess the titles!

I've finished mine. Enjoyed it, but I'm feeling a bit conflicted by the ending. I can't figure out if it was intended to be a happy ending or not.

But it was a book I would have never picked up and I will probably seek out more by the author, who I have never read before.

Looking forward to finding out what the next book is.

I have eaten all my chocolate too on the first day. It was delish.

quite short for me, Keith. I have 2000 words on leisure and social status in history due on friday. My book is sat patiently waiting for me to start over the weekend. I have also eaten all my chocolate, or at least my son helped.

Finished mine last week, then got caught up in another book and then this thread dropped off my threads to watch and i forgot about it

Keith I ate my chocolate all on the first day too! I was intending on being really good and just having a square at a time when I sit down to read but then I had another square and another...

I really ended my read and think it will enjoyed by all.

I've handed my last essay in so I'm free to read my book this week. Im aims g to post next Friday as I'm going on holiday for half term. Mustn't forget to buy chocolate
