Bleeding at 6.1
Mctm123 · 06/11/2020 11:19
I’m 6+1 today (Ivf pregnancy) I’ve had 3 losses in the past all around this stage. At 5+5 I had a scan which showed gestational sac and yolk sac everything looked fine but the doctor did ask if I’d bled as she could see something but thought maybe it was just irritation from the Ivf treatment. Anyway, the next morning I had the faintest ever brown spotting which was over as quick as it started. Then last night it started again and turned to red but no clots and no pain. This morning it’s still there but not enough to fill a pad. I know it’s pointless but yesterday I done a frer and it was a dye stealer and this morning I done a clear blue which has increased to 3+ I did feel symptoms seemed to fade last couple of days but this morning felt a bit nauseous again and boobs slightly sore. I don’t really want to go for another scan yet as I’m worried it may irritate things (I know that’s silly) I am booked in for a 7.5 scan anyway but wondered what your thoughts/experiences were? I did think the worst last night but this morning I’m a little bit hopeful again

Hi @Mctm123 I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this worry ❤️
I know we've spoken before. I had similar in my last (4th) pregnancy and I didn't have a good outcome sadly but I really hope this isn't the case for you. I was taking progesterone due to my previous losses so I did increase my dose and it did ease the bleeding. This wasn't an ivf pregnancy though - we caught after my baseline scan.
Could you clinic bring forward your scan? X
MrsC2018 · 07/11/2020 10:29
I'm 36+3 with an IVF pregnancy and bled from 5+3 until 8wks on and off - some brown, some bright red and with lots of cramps and pain. No reason was ever given for why I kept bleeding but each scan just showed baby ok and with heartbeat. As a result I had scans at 6wks, 7+5, 9wks, 10+1, 12+5 because I just couldn't believe that baby was ok with all the bleeding and I wanted to know as soon as it was all over. I also took a clear blue and got 3+ at 5+4 after the first big red bleed which made me feel slightly better but it's so hard to know what's going on and I always worried that the progesterone was just artificially prolonging the inevitable. Anyway, it was good news for me in the end - I really hope it's the same for you and you get your reassurance soon
Mctm123 · 07/11/2020 10:31
Hi @VenusStarr how are you? Sorry to hear about your 4th loss, that’s awful and it’s all just so cruel isn’t it? Hope you are well xx
Yes the midwife called me back yday and I have managed to get a scan on Tuesday. The bleeding has completely stopped now and I am not in any pain so I’m clinging on to hope. I’m trying to think surely getting the yolk sac is a positive but who knows 🤷♀️
Mctm123 · 07/11/2020 10:34
@MrsC2018 that’s a lovely story and really gives me reassurance so thank you! I wish you best of luck with the upcoming birth x
slipperywhensparticus · 07/11/2020 10:35
I've had bleeding with all three pregnancies and three successful outcomes one pregnancy was awful the doctors constantly preparing me to have lost my baby and us all being very surprised to see him still there wiggling around it was awful but he turns 12 soon so it worked out
Fingers crossed for you
Mctm123 · 07/11/2020 10:54
Glad you had happy outcomes @slipperywhensparticus it just shows you, bleeding doesn’t always mean bad. I’ll update the thread after Tuesday xx
MrsC2018 · 07/11/2020 15:31
@Mctm123 this wait is torture, I completely empathise - please do report back, and feel free to pop back to chat if you're panicking. I remember vividly feeling ok after a scan and half believing that all might be well but then I'd have a bleed or cramping again and spiral and feel completely hopeless. I only really calmed when I could actually feel her moving and fortunately for me this baby is incredibly active so I've been able to cope the last 15 weeks or so. Before that though I was a mess x
Mctm123 · 08/11/2020 08:10
Thanks @MrsC2018 xx
It’s strange it seems to be stop starting but the colours are all varying!! Last night it calmed right down and then this morning I woke up and it’s completely brown now which I’m thinking that’s a good sign but who knows! X
VenusStarr · 08/11/2020 13:42
I'm glad you've got a scan arranged @Mctm123. I hope this brings good news for you ❤️
I'm doing OK, we're waiting for genetic testing for the baby. We had parental karyotyping and that's normal. We've decided to see an immune reproductive specialist, I'm just waiting for my test results. Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞 💕 xx
Mctm123 · 08/11/2020 14:33
Thanks @VenusStarr fingers crossed xx
Sounds like you have a good plan in place for the investigations. Hope you get some answers as you really deserve it. Keep me posted if you don’t mind? Xx
VenusStarr · 08/11/2020 17:39
Yes, I'll let you know how I get on, thank you.
I'll be thinking of you this week, let me know how your scan goes xx ❤️

@Mctm123 Hi Mctm...we were on the same thread during the 2WW. So sorry to hear about your bleeding, it's such a worry. But from what you've said it sounds hopeful - especially if there's no pain or blood clots and your doctor saw something, perhaps it's a haematoma?
Sadly, I had period cramps and bleeding when I was 5+4. I passed lots of clots and tissue so I knew in my heart I'd miscarried and scan today confirmed it. It's devastating.
Sending big hugs to you and let us know how you get on xx
Mctm123 · 09/11/2020 19:28
Hi @northernerinthesouth1 yes I remember you, thanks for messaging and I’m so sorry to hear your sad news. I have lost 3 pregnancies through ivf and I know how painful it is, make sure you look after yourself and take each day as it comes. Sending you lots of love 💗
Thanks for your well wishes I will definitely update the thread once I’ve had the scan, I’m hopeful one minute then doubtful the next but it’s only natural I suppose. I have felt quite nauseous today, it seems to have ramped up a little so fingers crossed xxx
Betsyboo87 · 09/11/2020 19:40
This sounds exactly the same as I had with my ivf pregnancy. It started at 4.5 weeks and suddenly stopped at 8 weeks. I went on to have a successful pregnancy.
I really hope everything goes well at your scan. This was me a year ago and I remember the worry and bad feeling so well.
VenusStarr · 10/11/2020 08:42
Thinking of you today @Mctm123 ❤️
Mctm123 · 10/11/2020 09:13
Thanks @Betsyboo87 & @VenusStarr xxx
I’m feeling hopeful today...I’ve had really bad nausea yesterday an since 4am this morning and the bleeding stopped completely on Sunday evening so I’m staying positive for now 🤞
MrsC2018 · 10/11/2020 09:17
Thinking of you today 🤞🙏
Mctm123 · 10/11/2020 12:16
Thanks @MrsC2018 will update this afternoon xx
Sullivan2004 · 10/11/2020 13:17
Hi all. Sorry to jump on this thread and not post my own but I'm going through every one with a fine tooth comb looking for some reassurance. So my story seems less hopeful than your but this is my 6th pregnancy (yet to have any live children :( ) according to my dates I'm 5 weeks and 6 days. I have been bleeding in a variety of ways I'd class it as a constant light bleed for 8 days now accompanied by some quite severe cramps and back ache. I went to the hospital last thurs(3 full days of bleeding at that point)scan shown a sac but nothing else said it was too early at 5+1 took my hcg and was sent away. I returned on sat for repeat bloods and my levels had stayed the same practically 707-726 over 48 hours. They didnt sound hopeful but said it can happen and to return mon for a 3rd set. Those levels yesterday hadn't doubled but had increased to 1262 so around 70%. Told to go back for a scan Thursday. Has anyone experienced similar??surly if I was miscarrying those hcg numbers wouldn't rise so much would they??
I've had so far a placenta abruption at 30 weeks leading to stillbirth my heart breaks every day for my precious boy April 2018
I then had a multiple pregnancy x6 1 tubal molar ruptured my fallopian tube and miscarried remaining 5 8 week babies Feb 19
Then had a 9 week miscarriage due to Turner syndrome Feb this year
2 chemical pregnancies June and Aug
Now this ...pregnancy num 6 baby num 11!when will someone give me a break xx
Mctm123 · 10/11/2020 16:58
All good news at the scan! I’m so relieved! Baby is fine and the heartbeat was flickering away! She said she could still see the bleed and to expect to bleed again but it was just one of those things and said not to worry.
I am a bit worried though because I should be 6.5 weeks but I’m measuring at 6 weeks and it should be exact due to it being an ivf pregnancy...should I be worried about this 😬
Betsyboo87 · 10/11/2020 17:39
Fantastic news! Did the Sonographer show any concern about the measurements? I think if she was concerned then she would have booked you in again to check. Try not to worry, a heartbeat is a reassuring sign.
Sullivan2004 · 10/11/2020 17:52
Glad you've had a positive experience today!keeping the positive thoughts coming your way. Wish you all the luck in the world x
Mctm123 · 10/11/2020 18:44
Thanks ladies! @Betsyboo87 no the sonographer wasn’t phased at all it was me that was worried since i thought the dates had to be exact with Ivf But she wasn’t an ivf nurse so that’s why I’m a bit concerned. Next week I go the Ivf clinic. Hopefully embryo continues to grow and all is well! As you say a heartbeat is definitely reassuring xx
@Sullivan2004 I’ve just read your post, my heart breaks for you everything you have been through. You certainly do deserve a break, life is really unfair sometimes I’m so sorry for your losses. As you say, the fact the HCG is increasing by 70% does seem positive but hopefully the scan shows all is well on Thursday, will be thinking of you. Please let me know how it goes? Sending love xx
northernerinthesouth1 · 10/11/2020 19:02
That’s fantastic news @Mctm123! Such a relief for you 💞
I know it’s impossible not to obsess over every detail especially after IVF with everything being so closely monitored and so on but it sounds like everything is all going well and your bub is settling in nicely!
Try to relax into it and look forward to seeing heartbeat next week! Xx
northernerinthesouth1 · 10/11/2020 19:03
Heartbeat again next week I mean!
