Bit of a long one...

I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks, by that weekend I was in hospital with a suspected ectopic. That was ruled out the next day when they found a cyst on my ovary which had been causing some pain.

We returned to the EPU every week for scans. By week 8 we were told that it looked like it was a missed miscarriage (an embryonic). By this point I had started bleeding and cramping, but we were packed off for another 10 days to allow for growth.

We returned, I was scanned again and there was no progress, but I still wasn’t over the threshold, so we had to go away for another week.

One week later, it was finally confirmed and I opted for an ERPC the following Monday - it would have been nearly 12 weeks.

The procedure went well and I was discharged the same day. However, nearly 5 weeks on and I just don’t feel physically better.

I have pain in my lower abdomen and a real uncomfortable heavy feeling. I’m also really bloated and normally have a pretty flat stomach. I’ve had a repeat scan to confirm no retainer products, clear urine and blood tests (hcg of 6), a negative test and I’ve just had my first period.

Has anyone else felt like this? In total I had 6 internal scans and basically 8 weeks of pure anxiety and tension - could it just be taking a while for it all to settle?

I’ve spoken to a doctor 4 times, but haven’t been physically examined (thanks Corona!). I think they think I’m mad!
