Hello lovely MNers, I'm after a bit of objective advice as feeling very confused.
I had a previous ectopic two years ago and am currently 6+6 by my dates. Obviously have been very worried about having another ectopic so GP arranged for me to have an early scan on Tuesday. (So 6+2).
The scan didn't show anything definitive, they said there could be a pregnancy there but no heartbeat etc. Had bloods done on Tuesday and hcg was 639, 48 hours later it had only risen to 826 so not great.
Had another scan yesterday morning as started very mild spotting and still nothing to see. Sonographer said the possible pregnancy had increased in size but with such low hcg it is probably a failed pregnancy. She also had a good look in my right tube (left was removed after previous ectopic) and again, she found something very small but couldn't say for sure if it was an ectopic pregnancy.
After seeing the Dr they have booked me another scan for next Friday with instructions to go straight back if any more pain etc. I'm still spotting a little but they were reluctant to treat me as being ectopic until they knew for sure as it would probably result in losing my right tube also.
I am just so confused as to what is happening. Does anyone have a similar experience? I guess I might just miscarry and it not be an ectopic pregnancy but the Dr couldn't say for sure that it wasn't a viable pregnancy just measuring behind. I think I'm desperately clinging onto hope but would it be better to prepare for the worse?
Thanks ladies
