I came off it yesterday. So it's withdrawal. I'm already progesterone-dependent Shock

Frecklefire · 06/05/2015 22:22

Maybe we could find a version we could snort! Given that its what they prescribe for menopause, pmt or post-natal depression i think it may be something of a mood lifter!

ThePopAndCry · 06/05/2015 22:23

me2 Grin!

barkingtreefrog · 06/05/2015 22:45

Sorry pop I'm on the app, you can't scroll back! I obviously remembered the wrong number from your post! I had a colleague and a close friend due within a couple of weeks of my due date for the first mc and it tore me apart, and then another close friend due within a couple of weeks of when mc2 would have been due. Thankfully the second friend had seen what I'd been through struggling with the first friend, so when she got pg she knew it was nothing personal when I stopped seeing her after bump was visible. And I'm ashamed to say I still haven't been round to see the baby, but she understands and is being lovely about it.

brummie not long now and she'll be out of sight, hang on in there Thanks .

me2 yup, the withdrawal is the killer, DH didn't know what to do with me. Angry/sad/hysterical/depressed/crying nightmare!!

ThePopAndCry · 06/05/2015 23:07

Thanks barking. I feel guilty at times that I'm basically blanking these people but, then again, I also know that, at the moment, I'm in deep, deep self-preservation mode. It's horrible that we have to suffer this added layer of feelings when there are enough to deal with as it is. X

bootles · 06/05/2015 23:36

Just quickly wanted to say to just, sorry you now have possible placenta accreta to worry about. I had a quick google (don't mean to be intrusive but I wanted to understand it). It would seem, as you say, that if they are still talking about letting you have a natural birth they can't be overly worried. Can you pin them down to discuss your concerns? You really are having a rough time of it, and hope minijust arrives at an appropriate time with no more dramas!

Hugs to pop and others who are struggling with pg colleagues. It's so hard..

tannyLoo · 07/05/2015 00:43

Yay MrsD! Great news!

Bob, my top tip is to do everything really slowly. I too got rid of the drip on the end, I did pinch and 90° angle in alternate sides of belly, and I tested the area first with the tip of the needle to find somewhere that wasn't too sensitive. Doing it all really slowly, so inserting the needle with a slow steadyish hand, plunging slowly and withdrawing slowly all really helped too. I reclined on bed with something easy to watch and made it a bit of a ritual so I wasn't tempted to rush it...

Just, keep us posted. As long as you and minijust are OK, that's all that matters.

Cloud, hope you're OK.

Purple so close! Bloody wonderful news!

I'm trying to remember everything that's going on, but its a busy time here!

We're all still full of cold. Poor Bertie has got it now and I hate him being ill. When he cries he sounds like a seal, so my objective at the moment is to make sure he doesn't cry. We have a cranial osteopath appointment in the morning, and I really hope he's well enough...

Flen · 07/05/2015 07:28

tanny hugs to you all. I am full of cold too so you have my complete and total sympathies! Hope the cranial osteopathy is good - see if you can sneak your head in there too, I always found it a lovely feeling!

me2 I have also just come off progesterone and found it very hard. Very anxious and tearful, plus my bloody migraines are back - I used to get menstrual migraines but the acupuncture/wheat free diet had magically disappeared them. The progesterone has magically reappeared them. Brill.

Pop that is so horribly hard. I still swear at pregnant women walking down the street (I am in my car and it is under my breath btw, I am not just abusing women...!)

I wish my bloody sister would hurry up and have her baby. My mother has gone into crazy baby-obssessed mode and it is really hard to shake the "it could have been me" feeling.

Jady77 · 07/05/2015 09:05

Aww poor Bertie making seal noises, that sounds just too cute. Still full of cold here too, 12 pissing days now.

5 weeks today since I went to Coventry. Emailed Kerri Tue, but no answer yet. So no location scan & heparin sorted yet and no changes from 200mg progesterone twice a day.

Hugs Flen, that must be so hard to be around.

sebsmummy1 · 07/05/2015 10:34

Oh Tanny that sounds horrible and scary. I hate it when DS has a cold, even though he is a big robust creature even hearing him cough upsets me.

Well BFN again for me today. I think I feel particularly gutted as it was 8dpo that I got a surprise BFP with the pregnancy I just lost. I can still remember ringing DP and just screaming down the phone like a lunatic and him laughing his head off. God that feels like two lifetimes ago.

Anyway, must get over it as have a veg garden to try and create (don't ask). Least I'll be able to dig like a butter without worrying about hurting a bundle of cells.

sebsmummy1 · 07/05/2015 10:35

Or a nutter though I'm craving butter lol

Me2Me2 · 07/05/2015 10:37

8dpo still v early sebs. Don't discount yourself yet.

Coventry people: how long after your appt (and scratch) did it take to get pg? I'm sensing that it was v quick for most (and therefore worrying that I'm not)

Jady77 · 07/05/2015 10:57

Me2 mine was 1st cycle, but am sure I've seen more frequently others catching on the 2nd cycle. And I think it was Just who took longer and then had dosage of prog reduced in case it was making lining too selective. How quickly have you caught previously?

Justonemoretime · 07/05/2015 11:13

Me2, it was me that took about 7 months to conceive after Coventry, and they did reduce my progesterone to from bfp only after 3 months, and I had an extra phone consultation with prof Brosens after 6 months, he recommended and hsg, which I booked, and immediately fell pg before I could have it done.
The latest here is that they want to induce me at 38 weeks on a week day when there are lots of drs about just in case I need surgery. Got a special scan to look at the placenta next Thursday. Any further bleeds, come back in. I can do admin and light duties, the rationale being that they don't want me sat about worrying. I'll see how it goes, but certainly got my head around to taking it easier.

Jady77 · 07/05/2015 11:22

Just that sounds reassuring that they're keeping such a close eye on you, but think I'd be just a little terrified in your position too. Hope you're doing OK, you've been very brave so far.

Me2Me2 · 07/05/2015 11:26

I've got pg first try 3 times (2mcs) but another pg took 4 months and I have been trying now since jan (took feb off to go to cov). About to enter 3rd cycle post cov. I'm not convinced I'm hyper fertile and would like to delay progesterone til bfp. In fact if I'm honest I'm not very happy about taking it at all as would rather be on no meds, odd tho that may sound

Justonemoretime · 07/05/2015 11:31

My first 3 pgs were month 1 of trying for 1 and 2, and 3rd month of trying for #3. Obviously, when it took 7 months this time I was convinced I was infertile! But this baby seems so robust in spite of all of the problems I'm having, and my odds of down's was 1:59000 at 12 weeks, which is pretty impressive for a 38 yr old, so I reckon it was worth the wait. Smile Just got to get it out safely now!

Me2Me2 · 07/05/2015 11:47

What is an hsg?

Me2Me2 · 07/05/2015 11:48

Not long now then just

Flen · 07/05/2015 11:50

just you are being very brave, I agree. Glad you are having a good level of care and light duties sounds doable.

me2 mc1 was an accident, mc2 and mc3 were second month. I am now in fourth month of trying, but second month post Coventry. I'm having many similar feelings to you about the progesterone. Going to halve dose this month to hopefully reduce side effects and also maybe reduce over-selectivity. I'm finding it hard it taking longer, although I know many women have to wait much longer! Trying to trust that some more selectivity is a good thing, and reminding myself I want it to be different to what has happened previously since they didn't work! I really relate to what you're feeling.

Me2Me2 · 07/05/2015 12:24

flen did they halve your dose then? 1 x 200 cyclogest once a day? I think I might call in and say I'm struggling with the prog, which I am, and can we delay it til bfp or lower dose

Justonemoretime · 07/05/2015 12:27

An hsg is where they put dye into your tubes and then xray you to see if there are any adhesions. It can also flush out any gunk so can improve fertility that cycle.

Flen · 07/05/2015 12:55

me2 Prof Brosens said to just take 200mg at night to reduce the side effects still from 7dpo so I'm going to try that...

longestlurkerever · 07/05/2015 13:03

Is the progesterone just about making your lining more selective then? St Mary's prescribed it for me (though not from CD21) and I am definitely not hyper-fertile. I thought it aided implantation too. Prof Regan certainly talks about a lack of progesterone causing implantation issues in her book, and though she is sceptical about whether progesterone supplements help, she does say that if they do they would have to be taken early to make a difference at the key time.

mrsdiddlydoo · 07/05/2015 13:17

jady I 'm assuming you haven't had your results or phone consultation yet then? If you don't get a reply from kerri try calling her. Chase the results because you're pregnant. Assuming your unk cells are normal there's not quite such an immediate rush for the heparin but you will need steroids asap if they are high. Would your gp or local epu be able to arrange a scan?

So its dawned on me after dh left for a long election day at 530am that he won't be home till 11pm and we usually do my heparin injection around 6pm. Will it be ok to wait for him or should I be trying to man up and do it myself. I'd much rather wait but don't want anything bad to happen.
