Brummie I've had to walk away from a few people similar to her and to be honest, although it upset me at the time, I don't miss them at all. A real friend gets it, even though they don't fully understand. I think we should all move to a nice big island somewhere with the team from coventry conveniently placed in the middle of the island and people are only allowed on if they're not a cock.

Boozle80 · 28/03/2015 08:12

I am thinking of it though Barking, if she's staying, I don't want to - nor do the rest of the staff for that matter! Lovely school or not. I've been headhunted by other schools so think I'd probably not have too much trouble getting another job, it's just a massive shame.

Boozle80 · 28/03/2015 08:12

Plus the stubborn side of me doesn't want her to get away with what she's doing...

Justonemoretime · 28/03/2015 08:15

Boozle, I think there's a distinction to be made between hard numbers of sick days, and the likelihood of an ongoing illness affecting your ability to do your work. Clearly you have had time off, but, for the bitched erpc, that was a transient issue which has now been resolved and does not directly prevent you from working, so should not put you in line for work related redundancy, I wouldn't think. A series of unfortunate medical issues that take place over a particular time period (i.e. a year) does not constitute a long term illness that would warrant redundancy on the grounds of long term illness. I think. But worth making the case. Try to enjoy your holiday and worry about it when you get back. xx

Justonemoretime · 28/03/2015 08:17

*botched. Although it probably was a bitch, too... Blush

Flower29 · 28/03/2015 08:19

Good luck today barking, will be thinking of you. X

boozle ShockAngryShock can't believe your head, sounds very underhand to me! I didn't think they could count mc sickness towards normal sickness...?
I would think it's very risky for your head to behave like this with you in your situation and definately sounds like you have a case for constructive dismissal or similar. (Not that I am an expert at all, but I left work via a settlement agreement and considered a tribunal) x

Boozle80 · 28/03/2015 08:20

I've had two bits of time off in a four and a half year period, other than that nothing - both those things are transient. I think she's just trying it on. I'll find out next week - we don't break up until Good Friday, part of me is glad that I can tackle this and put it to rest hopefully before the break. I might just go and invent new swear words to describe her in the interim! Thanks for your support guys, it's what I need atm!

Marchgirl · 28/03/2015 08:22

I'm gobsmacked that so many people are having these issues with their employers. Really hope she gets a job somewhere else boozle, although I pity the school she goes to! Hope it gets sorted soon

Boozle80 · 28/03/2015 08:27

Half an hour to go Barking!

Minnie74 · 28/03/2015 08:47

Thinking of you barking not long to go!

boozle omg what is it with headteachers?! In a profession that is supposed to be all about caring and family it's one of the worst for caring about staff! That is totally out of order and shows a clear agenda from her. Definitely unions is the way to go. Hope you get it sorted by the break- four days to go!

brummie Shock at your 'friend's' insensitivity! Clearly the woman who has had the baby realises how it would affect you, but this friend is ridiculously selfish. Why is it her business to share pictures of soneone else's baby anyway?! Especially when she knows your circumstances. Mindbogglingly insensitive!
And ouch for the scratch! Glad you got some gas and air. Have a fab time in Cornwall.

Waves to everyone, have a lovely weekend x

Monten · 28/03/2015 08:55

boozle just ShockShock at your head. Hope you get it sorted.

Really really hope you get good news this morning barking - we're all rooting for you

barkingtreefrog · 28/03/2015 09:02

Minnie how are things with your head? Are you still having an observation on Monday?

So, news just in. We have one good quality blastocyst that will be going back in at 11am Grin Grin Grin .

We also have one that is ok to freeze, and she said an 80% chance it would survive the freeze. There are two stragglers at the back that still have potential to be freezable, but they're slow developers and not ready just yet. I'm not sure how much time they will give them in the race before removing the finishing line!

Still got my observation. I figured I might as well just get it over and done with. Will speak to the Union about her talking to me about my job share though as that's surely not professional.
