Thinking of you loopy and hope you're doing ok

Good luck barking, keeping everything crossed for you

Brummiegirl15 · 09/03/2015 07:06

Morning all.

Hope we are doing ok. Consultant say today with Mr Watts.

And, in a total mindfuck - tested positive on an ovulation stick this morning. WTAF??????

It's actually about right date wise for ovulation. I've just not had AF. Can that even happen??

I'm supposed to be emailing Kerri about appt, but would they accept me if I haven't had my 2nd AF? It has been more than 2 months though since mc.

The other million dollar question - do I mention to Mr Watts about Coventry?

Totally confused this morning. So on one hand body is playing ball and happily ovulating when I should be on the other - no AF??!!!!!

Justonemoretime · 09/03/2015 07:16

Brummie, good luck. I guess you could miss and af still ov... it is the wtf cycle after all! Not sure what Coventry would say. I'd say see how you feel about telling mr Watts, maybe see how the discussion is going and get a feel for how open he might be... maybe say you've read about it rather than you're going?
Barking, thinking of you, good luck!
Sebs, like March, I got a coeliac test (negative), but would have done low GI if it had been positive. Remember, you need to be on a 'normal' diet before the test to get an accurate result and then change your diet accordingly once you get the results. If its just for general health, a balanced, healthy diet should be OK.

Brummiegirl15 · 09/03/2015 07:21

Thanks Just although does a 2nd post mc AF count as a WTF? First one was bang on 28 days - it's the 2nd one that a WTF. I did have a small bit of spotting at right time but assumed AF was on way. Maybe that was it!!!!! I will explain to Kerri and see what she advises

Justonemoretime · 09/03/2015 07:24

Brummie, I'd count that spotting as af #2, if I were you. Good luck. x

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 09/03/2015 07:41

Sebs, I did debate a low gluten diet recently as my consultant won't prescribe Prednisone. So in panic during two week wait I looked up 'natural corticosteroids' and read that a low-allergy diet can reduce a lot of the things that corticosteroids would treat - inc inflammation etc. Have now decided to try Coventry first as not pregnant this month, and going to phone this morning.
I'm also wondering what to say to my usual consultant, and whether she will take it as an insult, whether she can override Coventry, whether I'd also have to pay for private prescriptions etc. Is it just like a second NHS opinion... albeit paid for?

Flen · 09/03/2015 07:42

brummie it was my third cycle that was wtf! Think anything can happen... Hope it goes well today.

Flen · 09/03/2015 07:47

barking hope it goes well today if you are starting everything off. One day at a time and we are all rooting for you.

twilight so sorry to hear about your rabbit. I lost my beloved cat three days before mc3, loss on loss is so hard to bear. Hugs.

mrsdiddly and biscuits I have a whippet - pointy face gang! He got so far as snooting a potato off OH's plate last night. Those long noses are pretty useful.

Boozle80 · 09/03/2015 07:48

I think it depends how open your consultant is - mine followed Coventry protocol anyway but I think she was unusual. I got pregnant before my second AF so wasn't able to go but I think she would have actively encouraged me to. I know of others who are complete opposites and would have gone completely the other way. Dinosaurs!

sebsmummy1 · 09/03/2015 07:55

biscuits that was my mind set when I was thinking of gluten free. It I'd meant to dampen the immune system and I thought it could work instead if Pred, just incase we got pregnant before Coventry

Brummie - my worry about Coventry would be that they say 7-10 days after OV as they want to measure your lining thickness. Do you think if you didn't bleed a you normally would during AF that your lining might be unusually thick for you?

tannyLoo · 09/03/2015 08:09

Barking and brummie good luck today. Thinking of you both x

We have a beddlington whippet cross who is so jealous of the baby!

I will reply to the PM messages today I hope. I haven't quite made it to a computer yet...

I am back on the heparin for a week, can't say I'm looking forward to that date with a needle again.

Marchgirl · 09/03/2015 08:36

Good luck today brummie, sounds like that spotting could have been it if you are ov again, either way, looks like you're off to Coventry!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 09/03/2015 09:34

Brummie no idea re your cycles, but good luck today and let me know how it goes. I'd be tempted to mention that you are aware of the existence of Coventry to see what his reaction/opinion is to the work they carry out there, as he must be aware of it. Maybe not mention you have an appointment there. But re Coventry would they liaise at all with NHS if you get treated there? If they do then he will find out anyhow. Re me, I can't see them having that appointment free for today and I no longer have childcare for my boys even if they did have it free still. I emailed Monica over the weekend, so they know what's happened. Bleeding started yesterday and is heavier today so hopefully it won't drag out for too long. Boys have a morning session at nursery, got asked when dropping them off if I would be having any more children, I was so thrown by it I nearly replied well actually yes I'd love more but I'm miscarrying right now so who knows. But bit my tongue and gave a vague yes but getting older so don't know.

Marchgirl · 09/03/2015 09:45

So sorry loopy. Why do these kind of questions always come up when we can least cope with them? !

MimiDoddrioni · 09/03/2015 09:49

Sebs, I'm starting 5:2 intermittent fasting and looking to cut down on refined carbs and sugars. My bmi is just in the healthy range but I've put on 11 lbs since I first got pg in June 2014. I'm doing it more to be generally healthy and keep myself occupied whilst my body recovers from the MC.

sebsmummy1 · 09/03/2015 09:56

I have also put on weight Mimi. I'm pretty disgusted with my body all round and hoping if I lose some weight I might feel a little more positive generally.

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 09/03/2015 10:02

Ah, lots of pointy nosed dogs then. And they are generally lovely-natured, our dog Albie is. When my OH was telling DS1 the story of Pinocchio and that your nose grows if you tell lies, DS looked up at DH with big wide eyes and asked "how many lies has Albie told then?"
Loopy, why do people ask questions like that? I think it's usually quite innocent but I get particularly annoyed when journalists ask Jennifer Aniston etc if she's going to have children/why she hasn't had children... None of their bloomin' business!!!

longestlurkerever · 09/03/2015 10:05

brummie I sometimes get false positive OPKs because of PCOS, but it sounds more likely that you are ovulating and your spotting was a wtf af. Good luck!

sebs I didn't try a special diet but now that I have gestational diabetes I am on low gi and am feeling so much better that I wish I had tried it when ttc. I am not on gluten free though as oats and wholemeal bread and pasta are better for me than potatoes and rice.

Me2Me2 · 09/03/2015 10:06

Congratulations Tanny! Wonderful news.

I haven't been able to keep up properly recently but I hope everyone else is doing ok or getting there. Brummie hope it goes well today.

I went to Coventry last Monday. The appointment was ok but I am now worrying. I started spotting on Sat, 2 days before I expected AF, which never happens. I don't know if that was in fact AF, which would make it the lightest, most pathetic AF ever. I am normally very regular and I don't know what is happening - and I am linking it in my mind to the biopsy/scratch.

Anyone who has been to Coventry, what was your AF like after it?

Brummiegirl15 · 09/03/2015 10:24

I'm off to Coventry!!!!! Next Monday at 2.30

Bloody hell. I explained to Kerri about my AF's and I think the main criteria is the 2 months post mc so she didn't seem to think it was a problem.

Bloody hell. Mr Watts today, Prof Q next Monday

Marchgirl · 09/03/2015 10:31

Great news brummie, good to get everything done now them you can be full steam ahead next month Grin

TinyTear · 09/03/2015 10:42

Great news!! Hope all works for you and you get questions answered

Monten · 09/03/2015 10:55

Hello ladies. Gosh I’ve missed a lot. tanny huge huge congrats on your gorgeous boy Bertie. What a lovely name! So glad you got the birth you wanted too. And he was born on the first day of spring to glorious sunshine. New beginnings. For us all hopefully. Big love to you and your beautiful family.

twilight so sorry about your rabbit. They really are one of the family. Look after yourself.

Very jealous of all the pointy nose dog chat. ifinishedthebiscuits that’s too cute!!! I’d love a dog but have always thought it wasn’t feasible with working full time. Do you mind if I ask how you dog owning ladies manage it? Would love to get one. My two black cats would not be best pleased though. They’re sisters and one of them (Biggie Smalls) is very small runty and the other (Chubby Checker) is very fat and loves bustling around being nosey. She operates a strict ‘no closed doors’ policy throughout the house. DP and I like imagining she runs a private detective firm called Checker Investigates…….God, we really need a child in our life don’t we??!

me2 I’m sorry you’re concerned. I haven’t had the scratch so no experience to share but it would make sense to me that a uterine biopsy might lead to spotting afterwards. Did they give you any follow up advice?

brummie I’m so sorry your body is playing silly buggers with you. It’s just not what you need after everything. I hope the appointment goes well – if he does an ultrasound scan he will be able to see if you have ov’d or about to ov.

I’m 7DPO and just waiting. I always get really down in this final week – before OV and straight after I always feel really positive, then I start getting really anxious and am convinced I am not pregnant. Yesterday I had really strong pinching feelings on my uterus wall. Does anyone else get this? I seem to have developed it as a symptom since the last erpc. Am sure I didn’t get it before (although I never paid such close attention to this damn body!). The first few times it happened I was convinced I was pregnant, sadly I now know this isnt the case and it probably means I’m out instead.

Does anyone else get weird pinching and pulling pains about a week before AF due?

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 09/03/2015 11:01

Brummie, can I just check what you said - it's only 2 calendar months post Mc that Coventry want and not a set number of AF's? So I could go there in May? Even though because of my cycles, I will have only had one AF by then which would probably be the last week of April?

tannyLoo · 09/03/2015 11:11

mimi just a quick word of warning about the 5:2, which I'm sure you know, but it shouldn't be used when TTC.
